This week I sit down with Coach Gary Gutierrez in San Antonio, TX. We talk about coach's path to John Jay HS, from playing football at East Central in SA, to playing college football at Tarleton St for a semester to transferring to Hardin-Simmons under legendary coach Jimmie Keeling. Getting his first coaching gig at Port Lavaca Calhoun, coach Gutierrez worked his way to Houston Westside, Aldine MacArthur, to getting his first Offensive Coordinator gig at Seguin, to getting his first Head Coach opportunity at Sharpstown. After turning around the program at Sharpstown, coach landed himself in Levelland for 4 seasons, to getting an opportunity to coach in his hometown of San Antonio.

In East TX, we talk about Coach Crane's path to Caddo Mills, where he got his start at Muleshoe under coach David Wood, coaching Lincoln Riley and current HC of the Alice Coyotes Kyle Atwood. From there he had coaching stops at Alice HS as a DC, to coaching under Brent Davis, along with his brother, OC Kevin Crane, to move on to coaching at San Angelo Central, and finally getting his first HC gig at Groesbeck. After leading the Groesbeck Goats to their first playoffs game in 13 years, Coach Crane moves on to coaching the Gonzales Apaches. In 2019 Coach Crane landed the Caddo Mills job, we talk about the milestone victory over state defending champions Pleasant Grove in 3rd round last year, and what's the expectations in 2021.
