We are all familiar with Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech. It was a powerful statement forecasting a vision of equality and goodwill that theoretically should have already existed at the time that it was spoken. The speech provided a significant moment in history when hearts were touched and values started to congeal for the better. Dr. King's words effectively awakened our social conscience to action.

The Finale for our little miniseries of the 12 Trusts of Chivalry-Now.
The Eleventh Trust:
"Upon my honor, I will forgive when asked, that my own mistakes will be forgiven."
When people do not forgive past offenses, the results can be tragic. Anger and hatred deaden the soul to the best-intentioned spirit of humanity that we are called to nourish. Truth often becomes the first casualty. Gossip and slander usually follow in its wake. Clear thinking is deterred by deep-seated obsession. Justice becomes a vindictive bludgeon or is set aside entirely. When all this happens, misery spreads, and personal character is impeded, sometimes beyond repair. Families are broken; friendships dissolve; hostilities prevent reconciliation, feeding negativity that holds everyone back.
The Twelfth Trust:
"Upon my honor, I will live my life with courtesy and honor from this day forward."
Courtesy should never be limited to a way to act when certain occasions call for it. In every aspect of our lives, it provides an ever-expanding cultural dynamic that nurtures positive relations, even among strangers. People respond well to expressions of respect that contribute to their comfort and self-esteem and carry that sense of well-being beyond that particular exchange. The ripples on a pond idea illustrate the possibilities of good deeds echoing throughout eternity without our knowledge.

The Ninth Trust
"I will abhor scandals and gossip - neither partake nor delight in them."
Delighting in scandal-mongering and gossip is simply unworthy of the Knight Errant’s noble quest. It brings out the worst in people while disregarding justice and fairness. Scandal and gossip are the playthings of small minds taking pleasure from someone else’s ruin. Look at what scandal-mongering and gossip have done to the news media and today’s politics. They cheapen almost everything they look at while pulling their audiences down to their level.
The Tenth Trust
"I will be generous to the poor and to those who need help."
Being generous is not only a matter of money and materials. Being generous with your words is just as important. You can give by teaching someone a skill. You can give your time by mentoring a young person. You can give your time to a charity or your community. Generosity is just as much about how you treat others as it is what you are offering. Often I will hear others on this path say something to the effect of “you must only give, never take.” I would have to disagree with these types of statements simply because being a gracious receiver is equally important when considering this virtue. If we deny someone who wishes to give us kind words or a gift from their heart, then we deny them a moment of happiness.

"I will uphold Justice by being fair to all"
Civilizations would not exist in any significant or meaningful way without systems of justice in place to ensure fairness, adjudicate disputes between people, and help ensure the ethical and humane treatment of people by their respective governments.
“In matters of truth and justice, there is no difference between large and small problems, for issues concerning the treatment of people are all the same.” –Albert Einstein
The man who disregards justice is not a warrior. No matter what his prowess, intellect, or position in life, his lack of a respectable moral standard makes him a brute. Our sense of justice reflects who we are. It is the reason we tell the truth, defend those in need, give generously to the poor, and refute all forms of bigotry. Justice provides the measure by which we determine good from evil and ultimately determines our sense of honor. Justice is the bedrock of every successful culture and civilization. In everyday life, we uphold justice by being fair to everyone.
"I will be faithful in love and loyal in friendship."
One of our “Knightly Agreements” is Family. It is one of the most critical parts of this path. I view “Family” as more than just those we share blood or marriage with. Family is also those with whom we choose to be in our lives, which we pledge fidelity to. Those people we have in our lives make our lives better.
Love is much more than just the romantic flavor (although that is important too); it is the force behind much of what we do in our lives, whether we want to see that or not. We must be faithful to those in our lives and treat them with the utmost respect and dignity.

"Upon my Honor: I will defend those who cannot defend themselves."
A Knight is someone who stands up for others, defending those who cannot protect themselves. They teach others the skills needed to navigate the challenging situations they will find themselves in. Most often, a bold stance is all that is necessary to protect yourself and others from verbal and physical abuse. Always make sure that you do not engage in something that is out of your level of skill or capability. Defending others is not only a physical act. The goal for a Knight is to bring others to a point where a more capable and inspired person is born.
Their most potent weapon is a drive for wisdom, the wish for peace, compassion, and love for others, showing mercy whenever possible, and understanding that there is more to all things than what one can see.
"Upon my Honor: I will honor and respect women, and refute sexism in all its guises."
This is the modern rendition of the original chivalric call to protect and serve all women, ladies especially. It was a turning point in gender relations in the West, at least for the upper class. As with all things, it naturally evolved.
The world we live in is entirely different from its medieval roots. Most people today believe in the equality of the sexes. This, however, does not deny generalized differences. Indeed, there are a wide variety of differences within each gender, and within each family. No two people are alike. Chivalry-Now recognizes the importance and value of everyone as a human being. The proper response to gender relations is one of respect and partnership.
As one self-described feminist put it, Chivalry-Now is the counterpart of feminism. It liberates men and boys from counterproductive ideas that have hampered gender relations for ages. By replacing the image of the dysfunctional male with something more admirable, as the 12 Trusts encourage, relationships will naturally improve and everyone will benefit.

Trust # 3 "Upon My Honor, I will never boast, but cherish humility instead."
Hopefully, we inspire people by the quality of our lives, which is often more respected than self-serving words. This Trust also recognizes that boasting can be a real turn-off. It suggests ego-problems, like deep-seated insecurity. Humility, on the other hand, sets the ego aside to open the mind to the truth. This is very important to the kind of personal authenticity that people notice.
Trust #4 "Upon My Honor, I will speak the truth at all times, and forever keep my word."
Your word is your bond. Speaking the truth is paramount when living a life of integrity and honesty. But it is essential to understand that this generally breaks down into two different understandings; “Truth” and “Honesty.” Being honest and open is the hallmark of a Knight. It shows strong Character to others. It allows others to trust you more easily when you are known for always being honest and trustworthy. At times it requires a great deal of courage to speak honestly with those in our lives. It sometimes puts you in opposition with family and friends, allies and comrades, or even whole groups of people.

Trust #2 "I will place character above riches, and concern for others above personal wealth."
What does it mean to have character? It means being a person who reflects the nobility of human nature; who understands that the ability to reason brings with it a mandate for truth; who embraces conscience as the most direct source of moral decisions; who views strength as the responsibility to protect others; who values equality and justice, and treats everyone with the courtesy that they deserve. In other words, being a whole and complete person.
Having a noble character, which expresses itself through concern for others, is the height of personal achievement. We achieve this by empowering ourselves to be the architects of who we are, prioritizing commitments according to their real importance.

Jedi Praxeum was created from strong need in the Jedi community. For years the Jedi community has lacked a formal, thorough training course that covers all aspects of the Jedi path. There has been various attempts, but nothing that turns out fully trained active Jedi who contribute back to the community and helps continues our growth. Years ago there was several different training groups, master and apprentices, and programs, but Facebook took over forums and the interest was lost.
The classes consists of balance content between creating a deep connection to the Force, core Jedi philosophy and preparation for knighthood, as well as ingraining how to be Jedi at any time or any where. Classes may be 2-4 times a month, on Facebook chatroom, for 2-3 hours. There will up to 30 minutes of homework assigned at the end of each class. Students on the Knight route will need to complete the Jedi Assignments and the Trial (think final exam). The course is 3-6 months (depending on the voted schedule and unseen delays). There is no deadline for being knighted, only that you meet the requirements, which would take at least 3 months to complete.
The goal of Praxeum is to help train people to understand, respect, and feel the Force, to improve emotional responses to various situations, improve their life in anyway they wish to, to help others both on and off line, to develop friendships and connections, and help the Jedi grow into the dream we all have.

If a philosophy cannot be practiced, it is not worth the paper it is written on. If a perspective cannot be explained and shared, then it is in need of a re-evaluation. If people in your life are destructive and harmful to you and your path, then you should look for those who are going to support and hold you up. If your beliefs no longer serve you along the way, then perhaps you should consider growing past them. We are all at different points in our journeys, be considerate to others and to yourself.

This week we chat with Joseph E. Donlan, about his book series "Ordaining Reality". Joe will take us through the concepts that his books deal with and help us understand the power of thought and how we can change our future with it. It is sure to be a very informative and eye opening experience for us all! While outwardly a successful business man, is, at heart, a quintessential philosopher who has spent the last thirty years investigating the worlds of Western Physics and Eastern Metaphysics and tackling the mysteries of life. Donlan holds a BA in English from Northeastern University and undertook graduate studies in Software Engineering with an elective emphasis in Artificial Intelligence (”A.I.”) at Boston University and classes held at MIT. After graduate studies in 1983 he continued his research into A.I. at a high level of interest and became increasingly incredulous concerning the direction in which A. I. research was headed. His skepticism led him to intensify his investigation of the inner workings of the human brain to more fundamentally understand the entity the A.I. pundits were trying to emulate. This examination began a chain of events which led to his first book, Ordaining Reality. In addition to the fields of A. I. and neuroscience, Donlan has researched a very broad range of disciplines including: psychology, religion, microbiology, Eastern philosophies, Western physics, as well as investigations within the extensive arena of the Paranormal. Donlan has developed two recent books on these subjects; each targets a different audience.

Had my skull cracked and thrown down a flight of stairs. Went into a coma after childbirth due to domestic violence again being attacked in the hospital and overuse of meds by the medical staff. Ran again from domestic violence. Picked myself up again to write and have 2 books professionally published that are at Barnes and Noble online and finishing another story on domestic violence and trying to bring attention to it.
