Lead Pastor of Liberty Church, Paul Andrew, has conversations with various guests around the topic of race, injustice, and the ways of Jesus.
Episode 12. A conversation with Sherman & Bilan Joseph and Bryan Jennings hosted by Paul Andrew, Lead Pastor of Liberty Church. This episode explores the history of St Pete, Florida from a racial reconciliation perspective where they are building Liberty St Pete together. We talk about reasons for hope and for hopelessness, what we’re learning about healing and changing together, and why the reality is that the answers to these complex issues are in some ways are very simple.
Episode 11. A conversation with Lue & Zinty Ncube hosted by Paul Andrew, Lead Pastor of Liberty Church. Lue & Zinty share about racism and and prejudice from their perspective in Southern Africa as they lead Liberty Church Manzini. They bring challenging insights into ways that the mindset of Colonialism seeps into the church and missions even today, and how important it is to give the benefit of the doubt.

An honest and significant conversation about what real unity is and what it takes to establish it, how we’ll never experience maturity in the church until we embrace both unity and diversity, and why Candace nearly left our church (and what caused her to stay).
Episode 9. A conversation with Yemi Lufadeju hosted by Paul Andrew, Lead Pastor of Liberty Church. Yemi opens up about her experiences of discrimination from Nigeria to London to NYC, how the church needs to be not only speaking up but also asking what God’s strategies are to address racism, and why it’s so important to push through the discomfort and uneasiness of these conversations so that real change can come to pass.

April & Lincoln talk about raising kids to know how loved and valuable they are, what April is learning as a global leader of diversity and inclusion at SAP, and how Lincoln is challenging himself to be a peacemaker and not just a peacekeeper.

Michael talks about how the COVID 19 has disproportionately impacted people of color and why, how even social distancing is a measure of privilege for those at the center and not the margins of our society, and how the margins are very space where Jesus came to minister.

JR & Tess, our Downtown Brooklyn Community Pastors, talk about the dynamics of interracial marriage and growing together, what it takes to bring “your whole self” to a faith community, and what it looks like to take responsibility for educating ourselves instead of making that someone else’s burden.
Episode 5. A conversation with Jarred Collins & Eddie Rodriguez hosted by Paul Andrew, Lead Pastor of Liberty Church. Eddie & Jarred talk about “compliments” that aren’t really compliments, feeling judged or muzzled in churches including ours, and the damage that silence does when people of color are experiencing trauma and pain.

Jimmy speaks with passion and wisdom about the dangers of our comfort zone, how to not mistake a layover for the final destination, and how to stand with others in pain that you’ve never yourself experienced.
