Just in time for Christmas, our second holiday film is Love Actually. We thought it was going to be a frustrating watch but actually Jackie loves it the more she talks about it (and drinks wine), and Louise....well Lou is mad.
We take each storyline in turn, agreeing that Colin should most likely get in the sea, Emma Thompson is a national treasure, and the 00s were a weird time when people (Mark) had terrible jumpers, Keira Knightley got bullied by the media for no reason we can fathom and everyone pretended that Martine McCutcheon isn't obviously super hot. Batman Returns is a film about one woman's crusade to avenge herself, and then sometimes corrupt and hurt men do things. We are lifelong Selina Kyle stans so really we just needed some time together to discuss her at length and then some tangents did materialise.
We also wax about Oingo Boingo for a couple minutes which we seem to do a lot for some reason.
This episode is quite recappy so don't worry if you haven't seen it in a while (but also, you won't regret a rewatch)!

We got to record together for the first time EVER (yay Glasgow getting into level 2!) and the giddy excitement we got from that/champagne very much shows - in parallel with Alien and Aliens, this episode is much more chaotic and silly than its predecessor, but hopefully just as enjoyable.

This is a perfect film. Its structural perfection matched only by its hostility to our having nice dreams.
It's a scary one! Louise is fine with that, Jackie is restarting therapy and will be on the mend soon enough. In this episode we delve into a LOT of people's treasured childhood classic, whether you loved the film or the book first.
Let's rip the band-aid off quickly - Westley doesn't come out super well, but almost everyone else does. What else, what else, we love Fezzik and Inigo, we give Buttercup as much credit as we can, and of course we have facts. Episode 4! The film which is responsible for our name. You can listen on all major podcast platforms any way you wish, but we recommend listening to it on a medium volume, whilst on a walk in half-sunshine, half-shade, wearing comfortable trainers, but not ones which are too clean in case you end up going through the park, and you're going to want a flat white but a third of the coffee should be decaf and the milk has to be oat milk, served extra hot, in a separate cup on the side. If they don't have oat milk then almond milk is fine but the coffee should be fully decaf and served with honey but if they have no oat milk or honey then just a black coffee, but if they don't have decaf then nothing.

Hello and welcome back! We are so glad you came back. This week we continue our deep dive into the holiest of trilogies with the Empire Strikes Back, the second instalment in the original set of Star Wars movies. This is our episode 2, so we are still a little baby newbie podcast. We will drop new epsiodes every two weeks on a Wednesday, meaning Empire has arrived on February 17th, and that we will conclude this dive into Star Wars on March 3rd with a discussion about Return of the Jedi. After that we will be leaving a galaxy far far away and moving onto other content, but the Force will be with us, always.
Finally, in this episode we touch on some issues around racism and representation in film. We have a bit of a chat about how white the Star Wars universe has been up until this point and do our best with the vocabulary we have to address what needs to be done better. However, if two neurotic, white, middle class women clumsily tying themselves in knots trying not to be racist isn't enough for you, and it shouldn't be, see below for a couple of suggestions for other podcasts which are better at talking about racism than we are. As our podcast grows, so do we - we commit to doing better, being better, recognising and challenging our own complicity in matters of inequality, injustice and privilege, and calling out oppressive, white supremacist bullshit whenever we see it. Welcome to the very first episode of your new favourite film and pop culture podcast - I'll Have What She's Podcasting. Hosted by two tired, feminist millenials - Louise Oliver and Jackie Farmer - who give you opinions you didn't ask for about the films and TV shows they love.
We decided to start with one of our all time favourite and formative sets of films; the original Star Wars trilogy. Kicking off, of course, with the first in said trilogy - A New Hope (also known as Episode IV, depending on your outlook).

Louise Oliver(she/her) is an actor, screenwriter and producer from Glasgow. She hopes that pub dogs come back into all of our lives soon but in the meantime her interests include pals, podcasting (see our sister podcast Persistent and Nasty), and developing her special brand of hot-intersectional-feminist-takes.
Jackie Farmer really has no business doing a podcast but here we are. She lives in Glasgow and has a normy job in accountancy but promises not to talk about it...much. She loves cats, peanut butter and flawed heroines.
