Lectionary Bytes is a podcast with short episodes featuring professors and students from Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, narrowing in on an insight or two from the assigned scripture readings throughout the church year. Brought to you by the Hasse Memorial Library.
In this episode, Luke and Erik explore how the Trinity is present in Peter's sermon. In particular, Peter's sermon gives an occasion for talking about the one, united action of God. It also gives the occasion for speaking about the distinct work of the three persons.

Kendall and Vincent talk about how the disciples are so surprised that Jesus rises from the dead even though the Gospels say Jesus repeatedly told them about it beforehand. It can be easy to look down on the disciples, but then we also need to call to remembrance the words that God has spoken to us. We too often easily forget what God has clearly said to us including his word of both law and gospel.

Vincent and Kendall take a look at the readings for Palm Sunday, which paint a beautiful picture of Christ the King, who was lifted up or exalted briefly by the Israelites on earth. However, the Gospel of John points to a different kind of exaltation, where the king is lifted up on a cross and glorified far beyond the palms of Israel.
