This is the podcast channel for Sheffield Talking News. Our mission is to provide local news content and other items of interest to blind and visually impaired people in Sheffield. We currently have over 150 clients receiving weekly USB sticks with an interesting balance of news and feature stories, which are read aloud by our team of volunteers. We also produce 8 editions each year of our ’Talk About’ audio magazine and occasional one-off articles in our ’Out and About’ Series.
In addition to the USB sticks our content is also available online, by app, via Alexa and on this Podcast channel.

This week, among many others, we have items on awards for Sheffield's parks, litter pickers keeping our rivers clean, the restoration of Abbeydale’s dam, and a new mural looking to brighten a river walk. We also have an item on how Yorkshire’s cultural side brings in tourists.
Among other items in our news this week we have items about relief measures to be given to market traders following its recent enforced closure, a defence company witha major expansion in the city, Henry Bessemer, and the installation of a bench in Orchard Square to encourage people to sit and chat.
