Link arms with us as we learn to live with healthy rhythms, flourish in our faith, and be inspired right where our feet are.
The way I see it, if something is going to happen over and over again in life, it deserves a system! Go mode - which I am defining as "multi-day activity or event that takes you out of or away from your normal routine", happens in our lives in most every season at some point or another.
Hit play and grab your pens as we dive into five simple steps for quickly systemizing these life adventures! We will hit the following highlights:
Building an on and off ramp
Planning for the hardest part of our go mode days
Pre-deciding which parts of our normal routines will be flexible and/or non-existent during go modes.
Planning ahead for our daily re-set
Staying flexible and setting boundaries.
While go modes come in every season, they tend to be especially plentiful during the warm summer months. Tune in today, to learn how to embrace the before, during, and after of these exciting moments!

Emotional intelligence has become a buzz word in the past decade. While the concept of EI isn't new, it's found its way to #trending in more recent years. Here's the thing though, emotional intelligence isn't just a "feel good" word, it's a real life skill we want to be honing if we desire growth in relationship with others and mental wellbeing for ourselves.
Naturally (or perhaps obviously), EI plays a critical role in conflict. In today's episode, we talk about what it's like to enter into conflict with someone who is lacking in EI and how to grow in our own EI.
One of the attributes of emotional intelligence is naming our emotions. Fear in conflict is a very common and often mislabeled emotion in conflict. Join in as we discuss where fear in conflict comes from and how to navigate it as we encounter it.
A huge shout out to Stacy for joining us for our third and final episode in our Conflict Management Series!

Welcome to the second episode in our three-part conflict series!
In the last episode we talked about engaging in healthy conflict. In this episode, we are flipping the page, and doing a deep dive into the less enjoyable side of conflict, the unhealthy, unresolved, deep rooted kind.
Deep rooted conflict can pop up in organizations, churches, and honestly even our day-to-day relationships with family and friends. Today on the show, my sister, Stacy, and I discuss how to uncover the root of the conflict, how to navigate the humans involved, and re-building broken team trust.
There are some wildly funny and incredibly beautiful truths in this conversation! I can't wait for you to listen in!

Welcome to the conflict management series part one. In this three part series, we are going to talk about all things conflict. Though conflict can be super uncomfortable at times, it is an essential part of life for growth, relational closeness, and efficiency. So I figured if we can't avoid it, we might as well learn from some of the best!
In part 1, Stacy (my sweet sister) joins us to bestow her wisdom on conflict. As an Enneagram 8 (The Challenger), conflict comes more comfortably and naturally to her. She talks about the hard lessons she's learned in conflict, the role emotions play in our conflict, and when to leave well enough alone. She also shares some incredible stories about entering into conflict with those in leadership.
In this super inspiring conversation on conflict, we hit the topic from all angles; marriage, parenthood, and leadership! No matter what your season, this conversation is for you!

Have you ever noticed how organized people tend to have the most responsibility entrusted to them? In this episode, organizations role in productivity, we dive into this notion and talk about what it looks like to coach (others or ourselves) when organization doesn’t come naturally. I am a firm believer that disorganization leads to inefficiency. And in a world where very few of us are overloaded with extra time, learning how to hone the skill of organization in both ourselves and our teams is critical.
While this episode will be helpful for anyone who loves to learn about organization and productivity, it also has a special bend geared towards leaders (in both the work and non-work environment).

Our needs. Most of us don’t like to talk about them much. In fact, we would like to pretend we don’t have them. Let’s talk about you and your needs instead, that is much more comfortable. Except, we can only deny our needs or fail to even consider what they might be for so long, before our bodies, hearts, and minds wear out.
Why do we let ourselves get to the brink of breaking before we are willing to make space and be vulnerable enough to discuss what our needs are? Tune in to this podcast episode as we unpack that very question, along with three tips on how to start identifying our needs and sharing them with the right people.

We experience in between seasons all the time; in between summer and fall, in between the start and end of small groups, sports leagues etc. So often, in these in between times, we hold off on starting a new rhythm or routine because the time isn't going to last forever, or whatever that new thing is won't be just perfect. But, in living this way, we end up missing half our live, waiting for perfection or just right. I'm ready to bust out of that mentality and live right here, right now - where our feet are! This week's podcast is zeroing in our homemaking skills! Summertime in the kitchen is just plain different than any other season. There are a number of reasons this might be the case, but irregardless of what the reason is for each of us individually, collectively I have seen this to be true. Part of making the most of our time in the kitchen during this season is creating a plan. In episode 36, we are focusing our plan on the both the long and short game of the season.
For the long game, we talk about how to map out what we hope to produce in our summertime kitchens that will feed and nourish our families once the snow flies. Food preservation is a great opportunity, but also a ton of work. Making sure we have the tools, the time, and the right method for our season can help us to capitalize on the investment we are putting forth.
The short game is our day-to-day and week-to-week plans. With even small changes we can implement, we can make our time in the kitchen efficient, creating more time for playing in the sunshine!

We love a good season transition here around the podcast! The leap from spring to summer is delightful! That said, delight can quickly turn into feelings of inadequacy and frustration if we don't take time to pivot into the summer season. Summertime, even for people who don't have kids and/or are not educators, is a unique time of the year! The pace tends to be different than any other season and it warrants a change in routines and rhythms. In this episode, we jump into three lessons I have learned in the past couple of years we will be taking into summer 2023.

Do you ever get tired of stressing about the same things every week? Me too! So I implemented a weekly re-set in our home. Through trial and error, I figured out what day works best for us, and how to check-in every so often to ensure the re-set is accomplishing what I set out for it to. This week's episode is all about what I've learned in that process, including some questions for getting started, steps to implementation, and follow-up questions for those "every-so-often checkbooks".

In episode 29 I share about our journey to fasting from TV during lent this year. I have found that sometimes, my heart needs a re-calibration. While weeding out distraction can come in lots of different shapes and forms, abstaining from something that is frequently buying for your time and winning, is one way of doing a deeper heart check. It is my hope that today's show leaves you feeling inspired to consider areas of your life where you might be distracted, or using entertainment to escape and how to pivot to put those things in their rightful place.
