In this episode, Starting a business has never been more accessible than it is today. With the proliferation of technology, the rise of e-commerce, and the wealth of information available online, aspiring makers can become entrepreneurs with relative ease.

The barriers to entry have diminished, but while the doors to entrepreneurship are wide open, the path to success remains paved with challenges....

This increased competition, resource limitations, multi skill requirements, and the ever present risk of owning a business can seem daunting.

But so did learning your craft right? In the beginning, you didn’t have the knowledge you have now. But by watching videos, asking other makers questions, and trial and error, you made a skill for yourself.
Just like you’ve assembled the tools of your craft in your workshop, you need to assemble the tools of business, in your own small business.

To start building your marketing knowledge now, you may be interested in our new course, “Raising Awareness About Your Brand” at our website at georgesupplyco.com, and clicking the “Courses” option on the toolbar.

In this episode,if you’re posting on Reels, TikTok, Linkedin, appearing on a podcast, sending an email, or wherever, most likely you are trying to engage your potential customers, and lead them back to your website, where they buy stuff.

And it gets a little more complicated, because your audience on Reels might be older than your TikTok audience. And your appearance on a podcast is probably to people who don’t know you, but your email list is most likely people who have purchased from you before.

So if all those efforts are not coordinated to speak to their individual audiences, and lead to specific landing pages, it’s all really just random acts of marketing.

And chances are, you’ll be more than disappointed with the results.

It’s the job of a sales funnel, to visually organize all those efforts and ensure your message is personalized to each audience, and take the shopper precisely where you want them to go.

So lets very briefly, discuss the first part of the sales funnel, pre-purchase branding...

You can find additional information about creating your own sales funnel in our new course, “Raising Awareness About Your Brand” at our website at georgesupplyco.com, and clicking the “Courses” option on the toolbar.

In this episode, maybe you’ve considered taking your maker hobby to the next level: your own small business. You’ve imagined doing what you love, on your own terms, and creating income for your family, instead of creating wealth for someone else from 9 to 5.

In fact, after 30 years of owning and managing businesses, I can tell you that your concerns about starting a small business means you're in a good place right now. Because it means you're practical and realistic about what starting a business is like. This stuff is hard work.

We may be looking at harder decisions on our family purchases, as well as our business expenses.  For those of us who lived through the recession of 2007 to 2009, we know there is going to be carnage.   Jobs will be lost.  Side hustles will stop hustling.  Businesses will close.  I was one of them in 2008.
Now is the time to take a hard look at your planned large business investments.
