Conversations about Light: Recent Episodes
Kingscross Church
Through intentional & light conversations, we encourage the community to join us as we chat through biblical texts together. The idea behind these conversations are to simply help us notice what the Light is revealing within scripture.
In this episode Jibb & Cheryl dive into Nehemiah 6 and notice how we look toward God amidst opposition. In this conversation we see the finishing work of the wall and witness how God can do what couldn't be done.
In this episode Jibb & Cheryl dive into Nehemiah 5 and notice how human nature may fail us when we need to put others before ourselves. In this conversation we see God's gracious renewal of generosity in the heart of his people.
In this episode Josh & Mary dive into Nehemiah 4 and notice how God, who is great & awesome, breathes courage and boldness into his people to fight the battle at hand.
This is the final episode of the three part series "One Body, Many Parts", where Josh, Jibb & Stephen look at the gifts Jesus gave to build up & edify the church through unpacking Ephesians 4:1-16. "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up". This episode highlights and unpacks the purpose these gifts are in serving and unifying the church.
This is the second episode of a three episode series where we unpack 1 Corinthians 12:1-14. In this episode Josh, Stephen & Anna talk about the work God of the Holy Spirit through us. "For as in one body we have many members" and there are different kinds of gifts, but they come from the same Spirit. In this EP, we continue learning about "Gospel Living" from the book of James. Tripthi and Jibb notice how gospel wisdom is something we need in our lives and that it is something God gives freely to those who ask. We notice how James illuminates the truth in holding to the word of God in becoming wise, growing in humility, overcoming doubt and persevering through trial.
As we continue in the series "Gospel Living", we dive into James 1:2-4 and consider what it means to flourish in a fallen world and how the gospel provides joy amidst our trials.

In this EP we also look into 1 Peter 5 and 1 Timothy 3 as Josh unpacks with us what eldership entails, covering both the character and office of an elder.
Here's what we'd like to encourage you to look forward to with TCs:
Meaningful relationships: Jesus showed us how to love one another, teaching us to lay ourselves down for our brothers and sisters (1 John 3:16-18). We seek each other’s best, valuing regular gathering and looking to each other’s needs.
Mutual discipleship: Jesus calls us to disciple and be discipled by each other, building each other up in maturity in Christ (Col. 1:28-29). We’re thoughtfully involved in each other’s growth, and we look to those around us for wisdom and encouragement.
Multiplying grace: By his Spirit, God multiplies his grace through us as we welcome and serve one another (2 Cor. 9:8). We count on God’s abounding grace to bear fruit in our relationships, discipleship, and welcoming others into our Table Communities.
Let's look forward to gathering with faith and intent for these three things.
