Hello ladies and gentlemen, today we will be talking about the Usui pass which lies in between Nagano and Gunma in Japan and gained fame in the popular anime Initial D.
This mountain pass has a lot of tight turns and wide roads great for learning to race on a touge, which is exactly what I did! I raced and raced and kept on racing since I got my steering wheel and I've gotten quite good at it.
The other and most important part to my development in touge was the car, I decided to go with something I heard in Inital D which is that the AE86 is a great car to become a fast touge racer specially on downhills, and after all of this practice I'll have to move on to one of my all time favorite cars, the FD RX7.

I have been practicing a lot with the steering wheel and I wanted to share it with you, and I'm doing it in beamng drive with two mods I will be showing!
The car I'm driving is the Ibishu Saga which is an agile car with both rwd and awd presets which are very agile and great for drifting!
And then there is the map I'm in which is Mount Coot-tha which has a long looping road which is great for practicing touge racing and drifting

Beamng.drive has been one of my favorite games since it came out some years ago, I used to play it a lot but never quite got the feel for driving on keyboard, but, recently my dad bought a new gaming laptop and he loaned it to me for a while and it runs beamng at +100fps which is amazing! so I decided to get some gameplay and post it.
I first tried a mission Goliath which was very hard so I decided to just follow the truck till it crashed and then did the port escape where I knew I was going to get chased at the end so I zoomed past the cop as fast as I could.

After looking around for games that will run on my laptop I found Sleeping dogs, so I decided to check it out, and after some bug fixing and getting ready I came up with an idea, I will post a video of the gameplay, but sadly the gameplay kinda sucks because I'm not very good at the game or editing and the framerate sucks, but hey! here we are, you'll be the judge!

So I've had the Logitech Driving Force for a little over 10 days and this is how it's been going, yes, the posts were delayed because I wanted to do a post on driving but I'm not getting the skills to do so like to explain slip angle which is a very difficult driving technique, but, I did get good enough to show some progress at the end of the week. :)

Drifting may seem useless most of the time but it's a real time saver around hairpins.
When going around a turn the best thing to do is have your car grip the ground as well as possible, but, in hairpins gripping can be a major issue due to under steer and can cost you a lot of time and future mistakes because of your racing line, to prevent that i simply go in to a drift letting the car over steer but not spin out giving me a good line, saving speed and saving a lot of precious time!
I will probably make a future post where I explain basics in drifting and slip angle.
