Kensington's Premium Blend is a well-considered, tasty combination of musical genres: rock, pop, jazz, folk, Americana, Celtic, and anything else that adds flavor and spice. Every episode draws on my broad tastes and all the knowledge I've gained in a lifetime of listening as well as in my three decades as a radio broadcaster who worked in several different formats. Since 2016, I have produced the program in conjunction with community station WGRN in Columbus, Ohio. This program is dedicated to the memory of Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, who died on May 1, 2023 at age 84. He is credited with being a major force in the development of the folk-rock and folk-pop sounds of the 1960s and 70s, and his songs continue to be widely covered in the 21st century to date. There are 13 Lightfoot songs in this program, nine of them done by Lightfoot himself, along with four covers, done by Sarah McLachlan, Tony Rice, Bob Dylan, and Nico.
