Today, we want to discuss why Generosity is essential to cultivating a spirit of humility. If you cultivate good habits, you will produce good things. If you cultivate bad habits, you will produce bad things!
We don’t spend much time discussing humility in our society. As a matter of fact, in our culture, it is anything but humble.
Is there anyone in your life that knows you fully? Do you rely on yourself or others? Who are you permitting to speak into your life? What are they saying?
What’s a personal weakness you have that God has used to show His Strength? Have you ever had a time when you were in a weak place in your life, and you needed to call on God? Why did you go to God instead of trying to get through it alone?
How do we spiritually thrive in a culture that is anti-God? How do we stand firm in a culture blatantly undermining Christian beliefs and values? Have you ever had a line-in-the-sand moment regarding your faith?

How is God speaking to us? What is God speaking to us? How is God moving? What is God doing? So, how do we build a church culture to reach our community?
Have you ever been rejected for sharing your faith? Have you ever tried to share Jesus with someone and they shut you down so fast? Have you ever shared Jesus with someone and all they wanted to do was debate?
Do we get to choose what discipleship looks like or did Jesus choose what Discipleship looks like to us?
Are you the Runaway or the son/daughter who has placed your value on what you do or don’t do?
Have you ever felt the need to justify your actions? Have you ever used scripture to justify your actions? Have you ever used religious beliefs to hide behind your prejudice? have you ever hid behind your prejudices?
In today’s parable, we will talk about the wise and foolish builders as found in Matthew 7. This parable comes at the end of one of Jesus’ most famous teachings, The Sermon on the Mount. In this sermon, he covers topics that have become some of the most commonly recited scriptures in faith communities. After all of this incredible teaching, life lessons, and applications, he ends this famous talk with this parable.
I don’t know about you, but some parables still don’t make sense. Sometimes, I’m like, “Jesus, what are you talking about?” This story doesn’t make sense to me. Our new series Jesus Stories makes sense of these parables.
Like water filling a bucket of rocks, the Holy Spirit fills every nook and cranny where there is space, every nook and cranny where there is no resistance.
This week, we're going to talk about sickness and healing, but before we talk about healing.
We talk about common misconceptions we have about healing.
After we talk about the misconceptions about healing, we want to dive into the Truths about healing. Then finish with some common questions about healing.
“The closer you are to God…
The closer you are to the enemy.
The closer you are to the enemy…
The closer you better be to God!”
— General George Washington
Do you know what was happening between Friday and Sunday….
...they were waiting.
What do we do while you wait? What do we do while you are wrestling? What do we do with disappointment? What do we do when our circumstances are not meeting our expectations? What do we do when we think God isn’t doing the things we think he should be doing?
After reading Jesus' account of what happened to him on this day...
• How can we call Good Friday good?
• What was good about it?
We are now in week 7 of our series called the Journey. We are so close to the end. Our series will end on Easter with the Celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection. Today, we continue our series with Jesus’ Triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
This week I will follow up on Stephanie’s talk on the “Journey on the Mount” now that we are at the Garden—the Garden of Gethsemane.
The Holy Spirit leads Jesus to the wilderness (desert) to be tempted. Jesus wasn’t tempted in the wilderness; Jesus was sent to the wilderness so that Satan could tempt him.
What are things in my life that I would willingly give up for 40 days to increase my Spiritual awareness of Jesus? What are things that I will intentionally add to my life for the next 40 days to increase my relationship with Jesus? Have you ever noticed that every journey has a starting point? Have you ever wondered where the Journey with Jesus starts?
For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return. — Genesis 3:19
Our journey with Jesus begins with repentance. Our journey with Jesus is relational, not transactional. Our journey with Jesus continues with following him.
Pretending to be something you are not is devastating to your life in Jesus. Believers are not immune to Satan’s temptations. Generosity in the church is always an invitation, not an expectation.
Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Happiness happens, but joy abides. Feelings fluctuate. Joy is constant.
Joy is not necessarily connected to happy events. We have joy not because of, but in spite of our circumstances.
Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see. - Hebrews 11:1
To wrap up the mini-series on the seven churches of the revelation we see the parallels in the parables of Jesus in Matthew 13
