At ETH Denver Eureka John had the chance to sit down with friend and fellow Crypto Sapiens Host Donny Clutterbuck along with Digital Artist Swayze from Fomojis. Donny and Swayze dive pretty deep into the significance of Fomojis and recursive of inscriptions as well as how the BTC ecosystem has many other use cases besides being just a "boring chain for finance use cases".

Fomojis is an NFT based on Bitcoin's Ordinals. Fomojis 2.0 collection made heavy use of recursive inscriptions to minimise the size of of our inscriptions as much as possible.

A recursive inscription is any inscription that references another inscription. This is done in HTML/Javascript inscriptions by retrieving the content of another inscription. We are using this to construct each image based on its traits.

Put simply, each inscription is not actually an image, but instead a HTML file which retrieves each indivdual trait and layers them on top of each other to create the final image. Because of this, the traits are just inscribed once, and reused many times, which saves block space. HTML files are many times smaller than images, improving the efficiency of the inscriptions enormously.

This episode features snippets of inspiration as we explore what inspired today's builders and leaders of web3 and web3 communities during their crypto journey and what motivates these pioneers to build innovative products and services in the rapidly evolving world of decentralized technology.

Dan Romero reflects on his journey and how the internet provided an ungated space to create and publish content while growing an audience for minimal money or effort.

Lukas shares how the vibrant and dynamic community on Crypto Twitter, where ideas are shared and debated in real time, inspired how this leads to new collaborations and innovations.

Mike McGuiness, Chris Castig, and David Phelps are all inspired by the social visionary Balaji Srinivasan's transparent work on the Network State. Along with his revolutionary ideas of the impact crypto will have in the future of society.

Vikram shares his vision of not living with regrets and how hearing years previously from Jeff Bezos has motivated him in everything that he has done.

Zach Anderson shared being inspired by thinkers that work to open up different paradigms and systems.

Alex Salnikov shares the powerful impact Vitalik Buterin had on his journey and how reading Ethereum Whitepaper and the revolutionary foundation it set for decentralized finance and web3 technology.

Perchy shares how friends have directly influenced his journey, leading him to where he is today.

David Phelps also shares how creating community relationships impacted his journey, noting how deep dives into economics, economic theory, and macroeconomics not only inspired a realization of the decline of US Power and the decline in the US dollar but built the foundation for friendship. Friendships flourished over debates on the next global order, paving the path down the rabbit hole. This particular trip down the rabbit hole not only provoked higher level questions like, What if the next global empire isn't a psychical nation-state? What if the internet is the next Global state? But it also formed a lifelong friendship in the process.

Alex Poon reflects on his experience with the alliance accelerator and the generosity and understanding within his network.

Erin McMullen reflects on women that she has met while creating a welcoming space for female and those that identify as non-binary.

Philip Silva notes Bitcoin and our very own Humpty Calderon as inspiration throughout his journey.

In this episode of Crypto Sapiens, host Humpty Calderon delves into the topic of onboarding new contributors into decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) with Vikram, the Co-founder and CEO of DAOLens. The conversation begins with Humpty expressing his concerns about the complex and often convoluted process of joining a DAO, which can involve a series of challenging steps, from buying a token and gaining access to private servers on Discord, to navigating through various channels and introducing oneself to strangers.

Vikram highlights the importance of creating a welcoming onboarding journey for new members, which sets them up for success and ensures that they can contribute in a meaningful way to the DAO. He proposes the idea of composable experiences, which are designed to be flexible and allow members to unlock new experiences as they earn reputation. Vikram suggests that DAOs could create unique experiences by building a protocol that enables members to "build their own journeys" and contribute in a way that suits them best.

Humpty adds to the conversation by sharing a recent example of a DAO that launched its own app, which provides a more unified experience for its members. He notes that the next step would be to create these apps on a base protocol, to make these experiences more accessible and interoperable across various DAOs.

Overall, this episode of Crypto Sapiens offers valuable insights on how DAOs can create a more inclusive and engaging experience for their members. The discussion explores the potential of composable experiences and base protocols, highlighting the need to make the onboarding journey as simple and welcoming as possible. Whether you are a seasoned crypto enthusiast or new to the world of DAOs, this episode is sure to provide valuable insights into the future of decentralized organizations.

Today we are chatting with Perchy, Founder and creator of Chippi NFTs.

We look at the project's genesis in Season 0 of Bankless DAO. And learn that this initiative was Perchy's way of documenting his journey at Bankless DAO.

This is a crucial takeaway because it shows how any contribution to a DAO, whether small or personal, can take a life of its own and build a strong community around it.

Chippis are non-generative NFTs limited to 500 pieces tied together by an adorable and familiar character. Every Chippi is hand drawn by Perchy.

In our conversation, we also touch on building a brand, signaling your commitment to a community, and creating a layered metaverse with your NFTs.

To learn more about Perchy and Chippi, you can follow them on Twitter @TheFutureisDAO1 and @chippiNFT, respectively.

Today we are chatting with Dan Romero, Co-founder of Farcaster.

In our conversation, we will discuss the rise of a decentralized social, compare different levels of decentralization, and explain why Farcaster has chosen a sufficiently decentralized approach. And what is that?

We'll also cover identity systems and content moderation in decentralized networks and explore the permissionless innovation ecosystem built for developers at Farcaster, which is evident by the growing number of applications built there.

Today we are chatting with Alex Salnikov, Co-founder of Rarible. We learn about the early days of Rarible, starting with the launch of their easy-to-use NFT minting platform that allowed anyone to create them. Alex says, at that time, you either had to be a developer or be vetted by the marketplace to mint NFTs.Throughout my conversation with Alex, I realize this consideration for accessibility drives a lot of their innovations. This has inspired it to become a first-of-its-kind aggregated marketplace for Ethereum NFTs and, more recently, to launch community marketplaces. This last one seems to have resonated with many popular collections and creators who launched marketplaces powered by Rarible. As always, there are lots to unpack here, so let’s get started.

Hello and welcome to Crypto Sapiens.

Today we are chatting with Evin McMullen, Co-founder of Disco.

In our conversation, we look back at young Evin, presenting to her parents about the fair use statute and why her use of platforms like Napster and Limewire constituted an educational, non-commercial use case. Her fascination with data freedoms, creative commons and MIT licenses continued in her undergraduate studies, where she worked with professors and fell deeper into the rabbit hole of identities across different digital platforms.

Evin has tons of experience in web3, including almost five years at Consensys, where she worked on Ethereum ecosystem development and where, as she says, "she solidified a lot of the ideas she has and philosophies that she holds about identities as they can exist in web3."

Anyone who has met Evin knows she isn't just brilliant but capable of breaking down complex subjects into fun, accessible bits, and this interview is no different.

We talk about surveillance capitalism, self-sovereign identities, self-custody of our traits beyond financial data, selective disclosure, and so much more.

To learn more about Evin and Disco, you can follow them on Twitter @ provenauthority and disco.xyz, respectively.

On today's episode, we are with Chris Castig, Co-founder of Console. We start with an exploration of Chris' crypto journey, which began when he learned of Napster (the p2p file sharing application) and soon after Bitcoin. As a musician, he then describes those innovative technologies as inspirational in his decision to study new media, specifically distributed systems culture.Furthermore, Chris is extending those values with Console, a community chat app where you own your identity, data and decentralized chat.Additionally, it uses Signal-level protocol to protect your privacy on the app. Beyond self-sovereignty and privacy, Console seeks to reduce the noise from apps like Telegram and Discord to provide a better experience for DAOs and web3 communities. And it is now in closed beta to co-build with the district. Mini Series : Dejourno 3 by EurekaJohn.  In this episode, we focus on funding and journalism as a public good.  We start by defining the definition of a public good.  Then we explore ad-driven revenue and how it affects the algorithms in journalism.  What are some tools we can use to help incentivize journalists to work outside of the ad model?  We want to build tools for journalists that are as pure and untainted by financial and business interests as possible, but we can envision ways that some of those tools might be spun out and adapted for non-journalism commercial ventures.

We explore how communities can use web3 to build their own decentralized, community-owned, not ad-driven, news outlets.  In the long run, we're interested in experimenting with whole new business models for journalism, and for rebuilding communities in news deserts. This is a little more abstract, but we can envision a role for investors to build some of the base layer tools that will enable this process without interfering in the editorial process.

Mini Series : Dejourno 3 by EurekaJohnIn this episode, we explore various types of censorship and some of the web3 tools to deal with it. Censorship is most commonly thought of as almost a caricature of some prudish authority figure at the top burning books and punishing people for what they say. However, with the advancement of technology, censorship has taken on more subtle approaches such as agenda-setting theory, algorithmic exclusion, and shadow banning. The inner workings of these types of censorship are behind a veil controlled by centralized entities. Not all censorship is terrible; however, it should be a more democratic and transparent process. With web3, we hope to tear down this veil and let this process be transparent to all through decentralization using web3 tools.

This episode will focus specifically on censorship. Censorship is most commonly known by the obvious censorship attempts by the ‘Washington Wives,’ a group that set out to increase censorship in music in 1985 and fought against by Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Jon Denver, and Frank Zappa. Then again, in 1988, with NWA vs. the FBI with the song Fuck the Police, among other cases. In the 90s, famous censorship debates raged when censorship took the form of Joe Biden wanting to ban PGP encrypted e-mail (which was previously military-grade encryption) and wanted back door access into everyone’s computers via the “Clipper Chip” in which the cypherpunks fought hard against and won.

As we progress and innovate in technology, new forms of censorship emerge. We are also being faced with protocol-level censorship.

Legit forms of censorship: Fact-checking, misinformation, pornography, anti-money laundering, anti-spam/scam. But who is in control of those tools?

Is the desire for ad revenue an inadvertent form of censorship? Are the agenda setting and topic of the content driven by the need for clicks and likes for revenue? Does this drown out the ability of journalists to focus on a topic like local news, investigative, and policy?

What are current tools to fight against censorship?

Will censorship be automated through AI? What does that look like?

I am your host, Humpty Calderon.Today we are chatting with Khori Whittaker, Executive Director of ENS.We open with an introduction to Khori, including his work in the education space. We discuss the importance of communicating the ideas and values of web3 and DAOs, to people outside our circle of crypto enthusiasts and advocates. Khori says, "we need to surface use cases that the world needs." In addition, he adds, "we need to create onramps with practical use cases," And quotes ENS as one of these. ENS as our digital identity makes interacting with crypto much more interesting, easier and fun. Lastly, we close on a discussion about the proposal that the ENS DAO community voted on to elect fund managers to manage the ENS Endowment.

Today we are chatting with Philip Silva, the Founding Advisor at BrightID.We discuss digital identity, social graphs, and how BrightID works.Philip says, "BrightID is a verification that you exist once within any given context."Further explaining that BrightID can be used for different personas, allowing you the freedom to choose how you present yourself depending on the context.BrightID also provides a level of Sybil resistance to applications that wish to validate that each person is participating once. They want anyone in the world to participate. But how do they validate that they are participating only once? He gives the example of the CLR Fund using quadratic funding to distribute $250,000 from the ETH Foundation to Latin American projects during ETHColombia.Lastly, we go over the latest update to BrightID, Aura, a multiplayer game of sorts that anyone is welcome to play to help verify those they already know.Philip says this is the future of BrightID!  To learn more about Philip and BrightID, you can follow them on Twitter @ubipromoter and @BrightIDProject, respectively. And please remember to like and subscribe wherever you listen to this podcast. Today we are chatting with Zakk, a core contributor at Coordinape.

Coordinape spreads decision-making power to the fringes, giving everyone in an organization an opportunity to recognize and reward their peers.

According to Zakk, leaving a note to people you recognize on Coordinape has become an important intrinsic motivator. "People might forget how many give they got or who they allocated to, but they always know exactly how many notes they got and who they got them from."

That feedback makes people feel valued.

About building in web3, Zakk says, "we can make it reflect the system that we want to participate in. We can create systems that better reflect our values."

To learn more about Zakk and Coordinape, you can follow them on Twitter at fifthworldzach and Coordinape, respectively.

Today we are chatting with Alex Poon, cofounder of Charmverse. This conversation touches on Charmverse, of course, but it is also a good resource to understand product development. Alex, a 3-time founder, tells us he and his team tried 50 things before they arrived at the product we see today. He describes the role leaders play in fostering new ideas as well as building trust in teams. Alex compares Charmverse to platforms like Discord and the improvements they seek to make to enable better coordination and collaboration, in some cases optimizing for simplicity and speed to help people solve problems quickly. About the user interface, he describes the importance of building a product that provides a beautiful, connected experience, so users don't have to go back and forth to different places. Finally, he describes the unified product strategy for using web3 applications like Snapshot on Charmverse. That's a wrap! Today we are chatting with Michael McGuiness, Co-founder of gm.xyz

We compare the different schools of thought on building decentralized social platforms, protocols vs. apps; we also touch on how we could connect with society at large to help people understand and care about decentralization; additionally, we discuss how decentralized social can improve the way people connect in web3 and govern communities.

There has been a lot of attention recently on building decentralized social platforms, a lot of this accelerated by the recent Twitter acquisition; this conversation highlights some of the reasons why those conversations are happening, how decentralized social can improve the way we make connections, find value-alignment with communities, share content, and retain the value of the work we put into social platforms.

There is always a lot to unpack.

Today we are chatting with Lukas of Safe, or Gnosis Safe, as it is most commonly known. Lukas started with Safe as its Product Manager, and as the project grew, he became its Co-founder. This episode IMO is very timely. As the current state of crypto shows, we must take custody of our wallets and digital assets. Safe helps you achieve this. Our conversation compares the more common private key wallets to smart contract wallets. And the value of using the latter, which Safe offers. We explore Safe usage from an organizational perspective and retail. As most of us are probably familiar, Safe is a commonly used tool in DAOs to manage funds. But what about using it to collect art, manage funds, and share ownership of digital assets within our families?

This is what is most exciting about Safe and tools like it. They can make crypto more accessible and usable for everyone. This episode has lots to cover, so let's get started. That's a wrap! Hello and welcome to Crypto Sapiens

Today we are chatting with Henry Lee, Co-founder of Noox, a platform where you collect achievement badges as soulbound NFTs and build your reputation.

We briefly explore his crypto journey, starting with a Layer 1 blockchain that he helped launch focusing on interoperability, where he also worked on Decentralized Identity and Verifiable Credentials.

In 2021 Noox was born. Henry recalls the landscape was very much focused on NFTs then, with a few projects using transaction history to reward users, gate communities, and provide airdrops.

The vision of NOOX was to add more context to understand users in a more high-dimensional manner and evolve user tiering. They set out to find a way to contextualize user interactions and transaction data.

While the MVP looked very different than today's product, the vision was always the same: to enable data as a composable piece of the web3 ecosystem.

If you want to learn more about Henry, you can follow him on Twitter @ hihenrylee and Noox @ noox_world

Today we are talking with David Phelps, co-creator of JokeDAO, EcoDAO, and Cowfund. He's also a writer and steward at Gitcoin. David has often been interviewed about jokeDAO, so we skip much of that discussion and instead cover a wide range of topics, including DAO culture, 100xing Twitter, web3 memes, and collaborative creation. On that last one, David later tweeted that one mistake of 2021 was assuming that co-purchasing creates communities; no relationship works like that. Instead, you play board games, sing karaoke together, share life stories, cry, laugh, and say you love each other. And that's what DAOs need. There is so much to unpack in this conversation, so let's get started. If you want to learn more about David and the projects he is building, you can follow him on Twitter @ divine_economy where you can also find the link to his blog.

Welcome to Crypto Sapiens Network Sponsored by Otterspace.

Today we are talking with Tony Herrera, Founder of PaisanoDAO and member of Neon DAO, ReadyPlayerDAO, and WAGMI United. Tony talks about his background as an immigrant activist and how working in that field led him to discover Bitcoin and, eventually, Ethereum. He also shares his early interest in DAOs as an ICO investor in Aragon. Anyone who knows Tony knows that he has long been onboarding new people to web3 and that ENS domains have long played a big part in it. He often gives ENS domains as a way to make crypto more fun and accessible. Furthermore, he shares other tools he uses for onboarding: Metamask and Ethereum. While these probably are not what most people would think of first, he sees the importance of helping people understand how these work to have a good foundation from which to continue learning. Tony founded PaisanoDAO to engage underrepresented communities, particularly women and people of color. He classified it as an impact DAO. PaisanoDAO often hosts workshops and other educational events, including two regular series on Twitter Spaces: NFTs in Español and Frecuensia Paisana. It was important to Tony that the DAO would not grow dependent on him, so he stepped away early. Now the DAO is in the hands of core contributors who continue to nurture the values and mission developed with Tony. He says We must build DAOs whose message and mission resonate with their community. There is a lot to unpack in this episode. So let's get started.

Their protocol and app let communities build and issue badges to members to represent things like levels, roles, achievements, membership, and skills.

We’re excited about badges because they are earned, not bought. They are non-tradable coordination primitive for communities.

You can use badges for governance in Snapshot, token gating with Guild, and you can build your own custom extensions with their composable tools.

Hello, and welcome back to Crypto Sapiens Podcast Sponsored by Otterspace.

Today we are talking with Nelson, Co-founder of Avenue. We start by discussing the tools that DAOs use, specifically Discord, and some of the challenges presented by them. Nelson says tools force behaviors on us. So, if we use the wrong tools, we will inevitably also use the wrong behaviors. He continues that their tools are currently informing DAO behavior. We dig deeper into contributor behavior and find that they are not discovering what they can do but are limited by predefined roles, work, and channels. Nelson adds we should instead build the right tools for people to suggest their work. We continue by exploring the three Cs that Nelson says are important in DAOs: context, coordination, and collaboration. And the role each plays in creating empowered contributors

If you'd like to connect with Nelson, you can find him on Twitter @ nelsontjordan. https://twitter.com/nelsontjordan And to learn more about Avenue, go to avenue.place and on Twitter at @ avenueplace.

Welcome to episode 3 of our 4-part mini-series, Web3 ID on Crypto Sapiens Podcast Network Sponsored by Otterspace. Overview of Web3 ID

Web3 Identity is a new Crypto Sapiens series that features discussions with key builders from across the web3 landscape including Gitcoin, BrightID, DAOHaus, Orange Protocol and more to demystify the emerging topic of self-sovereign identity and reputation. We explore the value of owning your digital identity across DeFi, public goods, and DAOs.

Today we're talking about verifiable contributions to build your reputation.

This week's guests are Bryan, co-founder Sobol; Aaron, co-founder at Govrn HQ; Dr. Kelly Page; M Murthy at Show Karma; David & Erick, Marketing Lead & Business development Lead, respectively at Orange Protocol.

They're going to share their thoughts on what it means to join a DAO today, what role reputation has in that process now, how reputation systems can make DAOs more efficient, and how they think DAOs will evolve in the future.

We also delve deep into these questions: How can reputation systems make DAOs more efficient? What "reputation markers" exist today in DAOs? How do today's DAO reputation practices fall short of this vision? What challenges or shortcomings exist when attempting to use them as they are today? When building their reputation models, will DAOs consider any Web2 factors or data points? How can reputation evolve in new ways with web3 technologies? What's the importance of making reputations portable from one DAO to the next?

Today we are talking to Erick Pinos, Business Development Lead at Orange Protocol. Erick describes the start of his crypto journey at MIT, where he joined the MIT Bitcoin Club, eventually leading him to the Blockchain Education Network, where he serves as President. He also points to the seed for identity and on-chain credentials being planted there, having his diploma issued on the Bitcoin network. Erick joined Ontology soon after graduating college, where he cut his teeth in decentralized identity and data, helping to expand their ecosystem. About Orange Protocol, he says, DAOs are interested in Sybil resistance, proving that someone is unique and an active contributor; Orange is nurturing these use cases and providing ways for web3 projects to use reputation-weighted voting and creating value-aligned incentives through a variety of campaigns that measure social contributions, public goods funding, governance activity. Orange enables web3 contributors to build their on-chain history. He points to a recent campaign that Orange hosted with talentDAO where reputation NFTs were provisioned to contributors who had participated across a variety of web3 activities, including Snapshot, POAP, Gitcoin Grants, Panvala Stamps, Twitter, and Discord too. Lots to unpack here, so without further ado, let's get started

Welcome back to another special episode of Crypto Sapiens. Today we are featuring conversations captured LIVE from MCON2. This was an emotional experience for me as MCON1 was my first ETH event; it was also the public debut of Crypto Sapiens. Previous to that, we had published just 2 episodes, and there I was now hosting LIVE interviews!?! Thankfully I was embraced as a longtime contributor and friend.

MCON is clearly an important event for the web3 community. MCON2 brought together many builders and enthusiasts to experience “valuable conversations, learnings and experimental growth all about DAOs.”

In this episode, we feature a few of those participants to learn from their stories. I hope that you find the conversations fun and engaging and get a sense of the energy from the event.

Our speakers include:

    • Nathan from Snapshot, Stacy, Mandy, and Kyle with gmBus, 0xJustice from Bankless DAO, Grendel with Polygon DAO, Reese from Coordinape, Diana from Rehash DAO, Sasquatch with RaidBrood, Jen with Crypto Stitch, Peth from Metagame and Andros from Wonderverse.
    • And an extraordinary conversation with Yalor about the mission of MCON and the impact it has on web3.

I enjoyed every minute of this event, and I truly hope you got a sense of the energy from these conversations. I would highly recommend marking your calendar for MCON3 next year. Because I believe the spectacle will be even more incredible than ever.

Welcome back to Crypto Sapiens. Today we are talking with Samantha Marin, author of the Quorum Newsletter and Core contributor in writing and comms at Aragon.

Samantha recounts her discovery of DAOs as an early subscriber to Bankless and becoming an early contributor to Bankless DAO.

She describes her experience working in a traditional startup wanting equity in the project she was helping to build and how being remunerated for her work at BanklessDAO in $BANK, their governance token, was a monumental step in the direction of what she had been seeking. Of course, there are challenges with bounty pay too.

She recalls times when she attended meetings and participated in retrospectives that added value to the DAO but didn't see any compensation for it. She consistently produced articles and other tangible work to earn a sustainable income.

We compare the flexibility of bounty pay vs the stability of salary payment.

We also talk about the emergent structure in DAOs vs centralized organizations seeking to decentralize and the challenges in both.

I hope you enjoy this conversation with Samantha. She is an incredibly gifted writer tackling many crucial topics both through her blog and at Aragon. Many of the topics we discussed have inspired me to be more thoughtful about how we structure decentralized organizations and build incentive mechanisms.

Hello, and welcome back to Crypto Sapiens. Today we are talking with Crypto Bushi, Founder of DAOpunks and now also Memelord at Bankless HQ.

We start our discussion with Crypto Bushi describing how he became green pilled and joined Bankless DAO after receiving an airdrop as an early supporter of Bankless HQ. He also recalls the role Bankless DAO community members had in inspiring DAO Punks.

We talk about the manifesto which seeks to inspire a movement of CorpRats to become DAO Punks. To this effect, DAO Punks has created a grants program intended to provide individuals with the initial resources needed to take the leap and go full-time DAO.

In our conversation, we also touch on activating new joiners to a DAO, empowering new ideas, and making space for emergent leadership.

I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Crypto Bushi and Livefast. It’s great to see the organic growth of communities, and the value they unlock by empowering their members. I hope to see the flipping of more corpRATS into DAOpunks in the future.

As Aaron puts it, the ultimate usage of DAOs is self-organizing and self-governance. If this concept is applied to our everyday lives, then we would truly be using this technology to its full potential.

This eventually led to him launching Govrn, a platform where you can track, record and manage your DAO contributions. Aaron believes DAOs are not made up of people but instead contributions. And that these contributions belong to individual contributors and not the DAO. Govrn allows you to verify your ownership of your contributions across DAOs. I hope you will enjoy this conversation with Aaron as much as I did. I'm personally very excited to see Govrn continue developing their contribution graph. Today we are talking to Niran, Founder of Panvala.

We begin our conversation with a brief introduction to Niran and his crypto journey thus far. He recalls his initial thoughts of Ethereum, and crypto as a whole was not very positive. It wasn’t until he learned of Augur that he began to understand the possibilities of crypto and began to contribute to it. This eventually led him down the Ethereum rabbit hole as he realized that Ethereum was a tool that allows for “rules to be written for any interaction between individuals or groups of people, like the rules for a board game. Except this game does not need an intermediary, or game master, because the network (the computers around the world) are promising to be an impartial game master for any rules you publish on the network.” This made him wonder, what should we do with the technology if we have this toolkit for economic and social coordination that unlocks better cooperation for all of mankind. Eventually leading him to develop Panvala. And set its mission, as a mass movement to reshape the way value flows in the economy to improve the stuff that we share. There are very few people that ask the types of questions that Niran does, or are able to dissect topics so precisely. I am excited to share this conversation with you; so let’s get started.

I really enjoyed my chat with Niran, and I hope you did too. The Panvala movement is a crucial one, not just for the success of web3, but IMO the success of humanity as a whole.

Today we are talking to BanklessChick, Core founder of talentDAO. Our conversation explores her background in research science, her contributions to Bankless DAO including being a member of their Governance Solutions Engineers, and the inspiration for launching talentDAO. BanklessChick says, “ETHDenver was where she first learned of DeSci and is where talentDAO was born; later at ETHAmsterdam is where talentDAO made its debut.” BanklessChick believes DeSci will use science to save the world, and the role of talentDAO is to make sure that DAOs are using the best science to achieve that mission. Finally, we tackle some of the diversity and inclusion issues plaguing the science community, and present opportunities for DAOs to evaluate these issues to keep from repeating them

I really enjoyed my chat with BanklessChick. I especially enjoyed our talk on human coordination, and building the tools we can't see, but know that we need.

Welcome back to Crypto Sapiens. Today we are talking to Tesa, self-described Cat Herder, at Fight Club. We start the conversation with her describing her journey to becoming a Bankless DAO member in its early days, and the role the DAO played in launching Fight Club.

This conversation was super enlightening, especially in learning about the similarities and differences between traditional venture funds and venture DAOs; from membership, deal flows, to governance.

We also discuss Fight Club’s upcoming Black Glove public mint, how you can earn your own Glove, and the launch of their 2nd educational cohort.

Welcome back to Crypto Sapiens. Today we are talking with Spencer Graham, aka spengrah. He is an early builder of DAOHaus, the no-code platform for creating and managing a DAO.

We kick off our conversation with him sharing his crypto journey starting in late 2016, ramping up in 2017, and in 2018 co-hosting the Chicago Ethereum meetup. In 2020 he attended ETH Denver, an inflexion point in his career. Leading him to join Raid Guild.

He describes joining DAOHaus, or pokemol (short for pocket Moloch) as it was called at the time, a mobile-first moloch DAO app that provided a no-code way for people to discover and create proposals, view treasuries, and summon a DAO. Eventually, a handful of people including himself developed the app into DAOHaus v2, which is the app we can all use today.

We continue our chat by reviewing the DAOHaus platform and the many features that provide a rich and nuanced experience for DAO operators and members.

There is a lot to unpack in this episode. I truly enjoyed my chat with Spencer, and I hope you did too.

Thanks for tuning in to another episode of Crypto Sapiens. Today Humpty Calderon talks with Susie Jaramillo, Co-founder of Encantos, creators of Canticos.

In our conversation with Susie, we discuss building a brand, launching a media platform, serving bilingual, educational content to families worldwide, and what it means to bridge traditional media to Web3 using NFTs.

We explore the vision of the Canticos NFT project, including the Producers Circle, which invites holders to participate in pitches of upcoming series and virtual and in-person events that connect creators, agents, and educators to help kids learn and fulfil their potential.

This discussion is fascinating because of the target demographic of the project. Rarely do we see projects that wish to meaningfully engage our children and provide valuable, educational experiences for them.

Today we have a very special episode. Our team traveled to ETHDenver 2022 and recorded a few conversations with projects in attendance. We had a very ambitious goal to visit as many of the booths as we could. But, as you may have realized if you were also in attendance, that was near impossible. Not simply because of the sheer number of participants, but also because of the energy around those booths. There were hundreds of people around them, from the first floor to the third.

We hope the conversations that we were able to get for you, give you a taste of the incredible diversity of projects and the enthusiasm around the event. We truly hope you enjoy these candid conversations from ETHDenver. The projects featured in this episode are listed below in the show notes.

Today we're talking with Jaf, Product and Development Lead at Ethereum Push Notification Service (EPNS); which positions itself as the protocol for blockchain based notifications that are chain agnostic, platform independent, and incentivized. Some of the use cases we discuss are loan liquidation notifications, ENS name expiration notifications, and becoming a tool for DAO governance that allows members to vote directly from the notification. As Jaf says, EPNS is a tool for reactive and proactive management.

We hope you enjoy this conversation. If you’d like to learn more about EPNS you can visit epns.io or find them at Twitter.com/EPNSproject
