Uncle Luke is still telling the story of Jesus Christ, but now the Holy Spirit that Jesus and the Father promised will take over God’s story as Jesus’ new 12 get ready for action. They are now under God’s Witness Protection Program, a flicker of hope that will turn into a roaring flame.

Isaiah 51-53 was written 700 years before Jesus and only Jesus is sticking to the plan. Hitch your wagon to Jesus’ success.

From God’s point of view, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has inaugurated the last days. But that doesn’t mean it’s over, and that’s why we feel fine. Because of God’s great love we are not consumed. Judgment is God’s work alone, but it is not the work he loves. The work he loves is salvation. Nations will continue to war and make people live in fear and uncertainty, but God has revealed the end has begun, so straighten up, stay awake and live on Jesus’ words and deeds.

Why is he so calm about its destruction? Because he has something bigger and better. Wars and natural disasters will not destroy God’s new temple that God is making for Jew and Gentile to join together in fellowship. The time of the Gentiles will be a comic tragedy like Israel, but what we mean for evil, God uses for his good. He is the hero of his epic!

Jesus has a moral revolution in mind, confounding the Nietzsches of the world and giving hope to the botched, as the world might call them, the down and outs.

At the heart of Jesus is the resurrection, which is in our hearts too, we want to live for ever. Only Jesus takes the issue seriously - so we would do well to listen up, take heart, and get on board with Jesus Christ, Lord of Life and Death.

Basically, we are bad tenants, squatters who somehow think we can pull one over on the Owner if we dismiss His servants and even His Son. But even the death of The Son won’t keep God from being patient and kind. Jesus reminds everyone that one day the nonsense will be stopped. God’s Rock will crush the nonsense one day.

What is your authority? God has made a story thru History so that everyone can be forgiven by Him, know Him, and pray to Him. Are we in sync with God? Jesus is. It’s time to follow him.
Talking God with Uncle LukeLuke 19:28-44The King is here, but his weeping like a prophet over Jerusalem ahead. The audience either wants Jesus to make war or just go away and die. Jesus will make war, but his blood will be the only blood shed because He is here to make peace. To make peace His war will be against our evils so that the knowledge of the glory of God will fill the earth.
Talkin God with Uncle Luke19:11-27Jesus does his part to pump the brakes on any notion that he going to Jerusalem to slaughter the enemies of God. Instead, he will die and rise in three days after being beaten and spit upon. This is all part of God’s plan to give the Kingdom of God to Jesus, the Son of God. But don’t be fooled into thinking that he won’t be back with his Kingdom and all that means. Be faithful, and you will be ridiculously rewarded.

Free will and God’s Sovereignty are the backdrop to Jesus telling the disciples he is heading to Jerusalem to die. This is the climax of God’s story to tell from the beginning. Why God will die is the answer to our problem- death.

Funny, people who are the most concerned about justice seem to lack mercy. When the scales of justice are tilted it’s time to pray, be calm, do justice, have mercy and walk humbly with our God. Social Justice Warrioring can not be done without mercy and humility. Only God can do cosmic justice with perfection and we need to humbly admit that, so we don’t hurt anyone else.

The Pharisees and Jesus’ disciples are stuck on the wrong questions. Jesus is the end, the Kingdom of God is the end - it’s not about when and where but who. Jesus walks the audience thru how to understand the Kingdom of God from the word of God in Noah, Lot and even Job. Come on in and check it out.
Talkin’ God with Uncle Luke Episode 47Luke 16:1-17:10Nothing haunts us more than being wrong. That’s why God has no need for force, he has the power of being right. That haunts us, and it’s a good thing. God haunts us with being right, and we can see our wrongs all around. Jesus throws down some haunting statements and stories about our reality with God in God’s world, so that we would come to our senses.
Jesus takes and old story of two sons and adds a powerful image of God to it. Imagining God every day as our Big Daddy, Best Dad Ever, the One Who Finds Us and Forgives us with a party! This is the central story in Uncle Luke’s telling of all things Jesus. Jesus has the authority to define God and us - this story needs told all the time!
Why does Jesus hang with the low lives? Because God is a finder of all people, since we are made in His image, and are all lost. Luke 15:1-10.
Jesus tells his audience they need to be salty. As always, Jesus leads from the front putting on a clinic of God’s idea of saltiness. Jesus is salty and we should be too. Luke 14:7-35
God’s Sabbath is His awesome idea. We turn it into something black. Jesus is happy to upset our idea of Sabbath if it’s not right. God’s idea of Sabbath is like a mother hen gather her chicks under her wing. Luke 13:10-14:6
The gossip train loaded with superstitious mumbo jumbo comes to Jesus and Jesus hops on and derails the train. The year of our Lord digging humanity and putting manure on us has been God’s work thru the Holy Spirit for 2000 years! The world may still seem ready for God’s fire, but clearly Jesus has dug in and spread manure on us so much that good fruit continues to grow. Luke 13:1-9.
Why can’t anyone figure Jesus out? Why do we only want God to be our small claims court connection? Why do we make God and God’s will such a rodeo? Jesus says if we F around we will find out that we have a serious butt kicking ahead…and he’s going to give it! This is our story, listen in :)
Jesus likes the Bible, and read the Bible. He loves the Jonah story and the story of a black girl from Ethiopia. In fact, he says she will be there when God judges the world saying “Mmmmhhmmmm, that’s right.” Luke 11:29-12-10
Jesus is accused, irrationally, of working for Beelzebul, prince of demons, lord of the flies. Jesus responds (like God in the rest of the Bible) with large dose of logic, not superstition. We need to get a grip with Biblical reality. Luke 11:14-28
Prayer, according to Jesus, is far more than we usually understand. Jesus teaches us to live on a prayer. Luke 11:1-13
Breaking glass ceilings is always God’s business, making glass ceilings is on us. Jesus values males and females as both made in the image of God, no hesitation, no catches. Luke 10:38-42
Won’t you be my neighbor? Fred Rogers got all his material from Jesus. The world becomes a better place, neighborhood, when we follow God’s lead. Jesus’ story of the Samaritan defines what should all do - and drops us on our knees for what we all do - love God, love neighbor. Luke 10:29-37.
Just like today, someone is trying to stick it to the man, Jesus Christ, the Son of Man and the Son of God. As usual, Jesus turns the table and keeps it simple: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself - and you will live forever. Luke 10:25-28.
We’re on a mission from God again and this time, Jesus adds in another 72 to take his powers with his message. What is his message? Who God is, is the message of Jesus and the whole of Biblical History. Luke 10:1-24
The Apostles reveal why Jesus had to take His power away from them. Remember it is the Apostles telling us this. Can we hear what is wrong with the world and why God says a New Dominion is coming. Luke 9:49-56.
Jesus says the generation is twisted, starting with his disciples. We haven’t changed, our generation is twisted too. The apostles are kind in showing how they were twisted so that we can see how we are twisted, and how Jesus gets us straight.
Everyone in the world has ADD. Jesus’ hand picked best buds fall asleep in prayer with Jesus, sound familiar? What is the one thing we should all hear? Come up the mountain with Jesus, Peter, John, James and even Moses and Elijah to hear God say one thing for everyone to hear. Luke 9:28-36
Who do you say Jesus is? That’s his question, and he explains who he is. He is the Christ of God, defeated, killed and raised in three days. He is the Kingdom of God. He is not the Kingdom of Man. It’s his world and time to give him credit. Luke 9:1-27.
The best question that can be answered, and Uncle Luke shows how Jesus himself answered the question. Luke 8:22-56
Making love is God’s idea, Jesus pokes a pompous pedantic prick in the nose and gives us a prostitute the learn about God’s love making. Luke 7:38-8:3

The only killing in Jesus’ New World Order is mercy killing. Killing with love, mercy, kindness, giving, doing good and did we say love - that’s the basis of the Jesus World Order.
With Jesus’ new dirty dozen chosen, God’s words will be spoken from the side of a mountain: A New World Order is God’s mission in Jesus Christ. Luke 6:17-26
God picked a dirty dozen to be his story in the middle of history. Jesus picks a new dirty dozen, who does he think he is? Good question. Who does Jesus think he is, the Creator or something? Luke 6:1-16
Has anyone ever called BS on you? Jesus calls BS on the authorities and anyone else who is listening in a hilarious and heart warming scene. We are Christians because calls BS on all of us, and that’s good news!
BFF. Best Friend Forever. Best friends often start with a silly moment that binds them for life. Best friends are best friends because they know when to be serious. BFF is God’s idea, and Jesus makes a BFF out of Simon. God invites us to a life of being God’s BFF! At the same time, God is controlling the whole entire world. Amazing.
I fight authority and authority always wins. Jesus fights authority and Jesus wins. The miracles show one clear point: Jesus has authority that wins without bombs and guns. He just uses words.
Give credit where credit is due. Freedom is not a human idea, it’s God’s. We need to stop others from pretending that it’s a human idea and not God’s.
The sweet home of Nazareth turns out to reject Jesus as strongly as the Devil. God alone, takes our problem with evil seriously. Only God can. Jesus is on the scene.
Mankind has a problem with evil. God doesn’t. Evil is always personal and personified which brings the problem home to us. We make evil a joke or horrendous, but both keep us away from understanding evil. Jesus runs with the Devil to give us a good understanding of how evil really is personal. Luke 4:1-15
We have 99 problems and evil is everyone of them. We need evil to be crushed and Jesus heads to the desert and the cross to do the job. Luke 4:1-15
We’re all busy looking for answers and we all know that our life is defined by our connections. What about God? Who is God connected to? Jesus’ connections and who he is connected is what Uncle Luke has for us in Luke 3:22-38. Let’s get connected.
God has been playing out his story from the beginning. We are bombarded by the rancor of hopeless negativity and we easily get sucked down with it! What’s your good news? Luke, Johny and the whole Jesus gang Point us to God’s dude Isaiah (chapter 40) for a clear picture of good news and it’s all about God. Get a grip on good news and let the bad news go.
The main event is here and the man for God’s main event is Johny, otherwise known as The Baptizer. The word of God was put into John’s hands and Johny delivers! Jesus is now on center stage in the greatest story ever played.
Sometimes like is better than love. We can say we love someone, but really not like them. Do we like God is our question? Is God likable? God’s book breaks the pattern of religion, because is actually down to earth and likable.
God in low places continues to honor God’s Underdogs, Simeon and Ana, underdogs under God. Rooting for underdogs is God’s idea first. Luke 2:18-38.
The world has trouble finding God because they simply look in the wrong places. Wanna find God, start in low places like the peasant home where Joseph and Mary are staying.
Zechariah, good guy, has been in God’s dog house and silenced by His angel. His niece Mary has been praising God for and even bigger miraculous pregnancy of her own, and his wife Elizabeth has now given birth to John. Zechariah comes out of the dog house, lesson learned, and he has something we should all hear! Luke 1:57-end of chapter 1.
Hail Mary. God puts the women at front and center of His story. Mary is our example on how to Hail God.
Luke tells us the hilarious beginning of God sending his angel to an unsuspecting old couple to announce that they will be a part of God’s Signature move as He finishes what he started with Abraham and Sara in Jesus Christ.
The end of Jacob is just the beginning to God’s Kingdom coming. The kingdom of Israel is next then on to Jesus Christ. Joseph sticks the landing and builds the excitement that God’s plan to redeem humanity is ready for take of, even tho the family of Jabob, the 12 sons, have been the most dysfunctional family we have ever seen. Thank God for that. God’s Kingdom Come because God’s Will will be done!
Joseph and God are in lock step as human choice and God’s Sovereignty intertwine in this hilarious epic of family dysfunction meeting God’s plan of redemption in Genesis 42-48.
God has a dream. He made his dream clear to Abraham and now Joseph will carry God’s dream to Egypt thru Joseph. Gods wants us all in on His dream.
God gives us doable examples that should inspire, awaken, and empower us to hallow God’s name. Tamar, and now Joseph, are just that. If they can do it right, we can too.
The world says God ignores the girls. Only bad men who don’t read the Bible say that. Tamar is God’s Bad Girl will feature in bringing God’s King of Kings into the world to redeem men and women alike.
The world we live in has always and still is defined by father failure and man behaving badly. What’s the fix? Throw away your gods and come to the one true God.
God makes it clear that he expects us to wrestle with Him and people. God wrestles with Jacob in chapter 32 and 33 and sets the stage for all the families of the earth to be faithful by wrestling with God like a good family should. By wrestling with God we will prevail.
Our man in Haran. In Genesis 29-31, Jacob ends up on his Uncle Laban’s funny farm. Will Jacob end up in a straight jacket or will God help him thru this hilarious and trying time in Jacob’s life?
God’s Holy Family is a mess. Most families can relate at some time. What will God do? Will he keep his promises rolling? God announces he is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and we should find great comfort in that.
God’s Funny Royal Family continues with Isaac and Rebekah - they are flawed but faithful. That’s good news for all of us.
In Genesis 25 Abraham finally dies. What do we make of the man that Jesus talks so much about, the ordinary husband and wife team that God attaches his name to? God is the God of the ordinary and he makes a spectacular story out of the ordinary. That’s good news for us!
Isaac and Rebekah’s match making story and marriage occupies center stage of the book of Genesis because marriage is God’s thing - we need to look, smell and sip the meaning of this story.
Nothing to see here? That would be a mistake. God’s mother of his plan of saving the world is dead. But her legacy continues on.
From the moment God calls Abe and us we are called to be the blesser in any and every room.
Genesis 19 is rarely read for good reason, it’s dark. And when it is read it is misused. God has a serious conversation about sex that we would do well to listen to. The good news is that God redeems us from our malpractice of sex and everything else.
After the four pillars, God defines the marriage relationship as a relationship that corresponds to God’s identity.
The opening scene establishes marriage as God big idea and central concept for his creation.
When God attaches His name to little man Abraham, He also attaches himself to His little women: Sara and Hagar.
Abraham is a cool uncle, a bad ass and he meets a cool dude with a crazy name. Since God attaches his name to Abraham from beginning to end, we ought to know more about the life God shows us. Abraham is God’s everyman for every man, including the gals!
There is nothing we need more than a good friend, Abe and Sara are God’s story for us to be friends with God.
To live a life in full we need reliable promises. God’s mom and pop story with Abraham and Sara is designed to raise them on God’s Promise so that we would be raised on The Promises too!
Genesis 12 is a landmark passage that is used by Jesus and it’s all about how God loves seeds and sows seeds of love in all people.
God makes History with the meek. Abram will become the good news for the world because God does not need mighty men just the meek who humble themselves.
Genesis 10-11 will move from prehistory to history with God’s artistic flare to get us to the progress of redemption.
The world might be embarrassed about Noah but Jesus sees Noah as real as he is. Let’s see what Jesus thinks is meaningful about Noah.
The famous story of Noah is about God’s desire to rescue first, and judgement needs to be understood by all of us Adams.
The opening two chapters of God’s book give us the most uplifting view of ourselves as we can imagine.
Day 7 is the whole story of the Bible. We are designed to believe that God completes us.
What God dismisses allows us to enter His good life. Without his dismissals we live in fear and chaos.
