Come watch me paint this little street scene in NZ.

this is the road to my parents gorgeous farm

I paint little daily paintings, normally 20 mins to 2 hours. ish This one took about 2 hours. Excuse the ugly cloud that is there until the very end

right at the end i decided that even though it was in the scene, it wasn't working and painted it out at the end.

Thanks for watching,

We are trying to establish a very biodiverse ecosystem in the garden. A variety of plants and flowers is top of the list.

Today I am planting smaller flowers in pots that i can move around when i know what i want to do with them

they are cheeper to buy when smaller and i can plant them in a "forever spot" when they are bigger.

I am trying something new in this video... i am producing the video and then i hope to embed it in the text based post about the same topic

so hopefully it works.

sorry if we just end up with two of the same videos

Really its rather how much we have left to do..

Hi guys,

We live in the outter suburbs of Brisbane Australia. We have a medium sized Urban Plot. Unhappily it is all grass and concrete. (And a pool)

We are trying to grow as much food as we can on our plot and are making some pretty big changes to make this happen.

come follow along with out plans

Vegetable gardens

Potted fruit orchard (mostly citrus)

lots of leafy greens

growing to our likes and needs

compost and worm farm

chickens

Bee friendly garden

australian natives

Hi everyone,

I have a lot of comments about how we are breeding the mealworms that we are feeding to the chickens.

the video shows you our very small mealworm farm, and talks about some small extensions to the farm, and how we are going to use these to breed mealworms to feed the chickens

I will also do a text version soon as well.

please note we ARE really early in this journey but it has been very easy so far with no real worries.

please see my other videos and posts about our smal urban farm we are creating

thanks for watching folks

Hi folks,

I have decided that i am going to do a weekly video "around the grounds" once a week as well as any posts or videos on specific topics.

I am starting the "weeks" at week 3. Even though its taken about 10 or so to get to this stage. Hopefully i wont regret that.

This week we had HUGE floods in Queensland again. Many people lost their house, some for the second time in months. its rubbish

we are starting to pot some winter veges. We put a green manure in the 1st bed (and some legumes)

We hauled the chicken coop outside

thanks for watching

Hi folks,

So a video i have been meaning to make for a while now... All about why paintings look so grainy in photos and better in person.

seems like a simple thing, but so many people don't actually know this.. or realize too late AFTER they think they ahve finished the painting.

Its always a good idea to take photos of you artwork as you go.. and THIS shows you one very common thing that it can pick up on.

not super useful if you are doing big think impasto pieces. But for my art - super useful.

:-)

I needed a thumbnail to upload to my HIVE BLOG. in the standard front end my pictures

were getting cut off at the top and bottom. Since i was posting photos and art works this

was really annoying me. So i decided to make a thumbnail so i could then pop the photo / picture into

the frame and it would look the way i needed.

this way i can add text and things as well.

Canva is easy. No graphics program knowledge necessary.

There IS a free version, although i DO have the paid PRO account and it is totally worth it.

it has TONNES of free art and templates.

There are lots of graphics in the program, although you can buy more at any graphics site with the correct

licenses, I use CREATIVE FABRICA. I am an affiliate with them, which means if you use the link below i sometimes

get paid, but i use these guys every single day as i love the graphics you can buy there. The fonts are awesome

as well.

If you use this link i might get paid which is awesome right!!! lol

GARDEN DIARY

Dear Hive Gardeners, welcome to my 1st Video diary.

It is PISSING it down today in Queensland, Australia.

With several swimming pools appearing in my garden I wasn't going to get any work done.

So here i am doing a video tour in the rainshowing you all the garden. It is a HIDEOUS MESS!!!!

BELEIVE ME

we had to rip out all the gardens that had been planted all wrong.

Rip up all the stones and black plastic

So we can NOW plant a productive vegetable and fruit tree garden that is a bee haven, and maybe

just maybe, we can get some bees. I'm really keen on providing lots of vegetation for bees and critters.

enjoy!
