Well, last week's craziness means we get to do this again. Brent and Danny were busy saving the world this week but there absence is made up for by the combined football acumen of Matt and Isaac. The three of us break down what we saw from the Seahawks' dramatic win over the Vikings as well as looking forward to individual and collective matchups against the Panthers on Sunday.

Additionally, Matt and Isaac discuss their first-hand experiences playing football in extreme cold and expound on the effects it has on play-calling and execution. It was like taking a graduate class on football for an hour. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Welcome back. After what was maybe the Seahawks' best performance sinceSuper Bowl 48, Brent Cole, Danny Kelly, and Matt Nichols join me to break down Seattle's enormous win over the Arizona Cardinals and look ahead to the big, freezing playoff matchup against the Vikings. We also take some time to appreciate just what we've seen from this team this season.

Another great episode. We really stretch this one out, so get comfortable.

NOTE: This podcast was originally recorded on December 24th, but it's worth listening to again.

As the Seahawks continue to build momentum heading into the playoffs, so does this show. Last week, we got a taste of some real nuts-and-bolts football talk from Matt Nichols and today we follow that up not only with Matt, but Isaac Williams as well. Williams was the captain of the Pacific Lutheran University football team in the late '90s and he and Nichols played OL together at an All Conference level and ultimately won a national championship.

We turn those two loose on our brains in the second segment and it's a special thing to sit back and enjoy.

Jacson is joined by his merry band of friends to break down the Seahawks' loss to the Rams, their season finale vs the Cardinals, and digging deep into the Xs and Os of what we saw on Sunday.

Last week's show generated a lot of positive feedback so we're keeping the same three-segment format this week as well. To start, Brent, Danny, and I hash out what went down vs the Rams on Sunday. Afterward, I'm joined by Isaac Williams and Matt Nichols as they sink their teeth into exactly how the St. Louis D-line beat the Seattle O-line and what can be done about it. Finally, the five of us roundtable the Cardinals game, playoff picture, and the change in expectation, if any, of the Seahawks season.

We're joined tonight by FieldGulls.com's resident cap expert on the Seattle Seahawks. He asked if he could come on to bust some common myths, and drop some additional knowledge on everyone.

How is the offseason salary cap calculated?

Ever wished you knew a quick trick to calculate your teams cap on a napkin?

Davis is going to answer questions like these, along with going into detail on terms like these:

"Dead money""Cap versus cash""Pro-ration""Staggered contracts" There's a ton of information coming on tonights show, so get out your notepads and get ready to fill your brains with some of that salary cap stew Davis has been cooking up for a few years now.

Don't be surprised if we hit you with a few of those gems from Pete Prisco on Russell Wilson from last week either, time permitting.

We go deep tonight, launching a probe into the "Canadian blood theory" with the man of the maple leaf, Jon Ryan. This won't be your normal interview, we will pull absolutely no punches tonight. The truth will come out.

Who goes back for seconds in the cafeteria? Who is your favorite punter? Are you a dual citizen? How hard was the test to get US citizenship really? What's Canada like? What was it like to play William Wallace's best friend in Braveheart?

While it may be rare for we here at Field Gulls Radio to get the chance to show off our true investigative prowess, we're just going to have fun with it instead. I mean, it's the offseason... the Seahawks are losing players left and right. Even Paul Mcquistan left, guys. PAUL MCQUISTAN. We want to have some fun with Jon, and I've got word he's not a super serious guy so it should go over well.

This Sunday the Seattle Seahawks will go up against the prettiest passing game the NFL has ever seen. Peyton Manning shattered the NFL record for passing touchdowns in a season and also won the crown in terms of single season yardage. The Hawks' defensive backfield should prove to be a worthy opponent however... it looks to be one of the best matchups in some time.

This week we'll welcome writer Jacson Bevens on to talk about the prospects of outdoor Superbowls in the future and get his thoughts on the game. Fieldgulls.com editor Danny Kelly will join us at 3:15 to share some X's and O's as well as to serve up his prediction on how to game will finish.

Local psuedo-celeb "Sonics Guy" will join us as well to share his feelings on all things Seahawks.

Brandon Adams will join us and fill everyone in on what he's been up to since he shut down 17Power.com

And last but SURELY not least, we were able to snag an actual athlete; former all-pro linebacker Chad Brown. Chad spent 8 years with Seattle in the last 90's and early 2000's.

We'll be having a few guests on. Jacob Stevens from our very own FieldGulls.com will be joining us at 7 to give his initial impressions of the (SUPERBOWL!!!) matchup with the Broncos. Then at 7:30 we'll have Steve Ryan on, the little brother of our superhuman punter, to hopefully give us some insight into what made Jon Ryan the mega boot he is. We'll run through last weeks 23-15 win over the New Orleans Saints, including but not limited to that really awful attempt at a latteral by Marques Colston.

We'll cover the injury situation as it currently sits. KJ Wright and Percy Harvin are both still in major question, if not just straight doubtful.

We'll have Jeff Vandersnick on to give us a view from the Bay Area. He's a staff writer for 49ers360.com so I'm certain he both knows a good bit about the team in red and gold, and doesn't care much for the Hawks.

We also want to promote a really cool thing that's happening amongst the two teams fanbases. A charity contest, basically speaking. We'll cover it in more detail on the show, but here are the links you need.

It should be a pretty good show.

Oh and by the way, we'd really like to hear from anyone who's got some odd sort of gameday superstition and/or tradition. Have to make ribs at home for the Hawks to win? Gameday socks? Can't shower two days before the game? Gross...

This week we preview last weeks matchup with the Cardinals, a game that was a full week ago. I can honestly say it was hard to remember parts of the game... which is both embarassing, and speaks to how the game went.

We vented a little bit on the continued struggles at the offensive tackle spots, gloated some about last weeks keys to the game (they were pretty much spot on), and provided a public service announcement for the 12th man.

Do not over-react when a player seems to be forgotten by Darrell Bevell.

Mike Robinson returns! Sadly though, the Real Rob Report does not.

All that plus a look ahead to Monday Night Football against the Rams! This week went a lot longer than we initially thought it would, things got packed! Don't worry, we still found time at the end for some goofing off.

Looking back at the Titans game, we each give our opinions on what exactly went wrong on that last play of the first half... You know the one I'm talking about. Additionally, I'm pretty sure Ike references Justin Bieber? I don't remember exactly how that whole thing went down, but it was pretty embarrassing.

There's a bit of conversation on the whole Browner vs Thurmond thing, we come away with surprisingly favorable views on Browner, I'd say.

In the week 6 episode, Matt, Ike and I look back at the Colts game, for way longer than we should have considering the bit of frustration that bubbles up for me any time I recall the game.

Given the loss this last weekend, and our 4-1 record, what does the playoff scenario look like in the NFC in terms of gaining homefield advantage?

A team that was a real contender just four or five weeks ago, that now looks like a heap-o-junk (The Atlanta Falcons) might have an asset worth considering for the Seahawks in Tony Gonzalez. Is that crazy? I mean, is it really? I'm going to tack a poll onto this actually, just to see what you guys think. Why not?!

We also spend a bit of time looking at two young players on the roster that are making a couple of veteran players look expendable right now. Matthew throws a bone to fellow Hawks' blogger Keith Myers for doing a solid breakdown on one of those youngsters, Michael Bowie.

And of course, as always, we run through the injury report and prep you for this weekends matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Bon Appétit!
