So that thing you're feeling lost in or that battle you feel you need to fight, I encourage you in this meditation to let Him fight for you. You need only to be still.

As soon as God gave me the idea to do this series, I wished this influencer were here for me to interview him in person. Roland Classen left a mark on this world and in the lives of so many of us. He always pointed us to Jesus and did it with grace, conviction, humor and gentleness of spirit. I am forever a different person for having the privilege of knowing and being taught by him and I know I'm not alone in this. To have known Roland, was to be near Jesus. Simple as that. He was something special. Since I couldn't get him on the podcast, I did the next best thing and dug up one of his sermons from 2002. My prayer is that in this episode, you experience truth and God's love.

I LOVED this discussion. We are blessed to have Steve Croyle as our worship director at church. He is truly someone who influences me in my walk with the Lord. I love hearing his thoughts and musings on God's character and this episode is not short on either. I knew it would be a great discussion and I was right!
Steve is a learner of Jesus Christ, husband to Andrea, father to Elijah and Elise, and pastor of worship and adult discipleship to the congregation at Mountain View Community Church in Snohomish, WA. He worked as a recording artist in the Christian music industry with the band FFH in the late 90’s before moving from Nashville, TN back to his rural hometown area of Huntingdon, PA, where he worked as director of youth ministries for about 14 years, the latter 12 of which were at Huntingdon Christian and Missionary Alliance. In 2014, he and his family, with their tetherball-loving rat terrier named Maestro, headed west to grow and serve alongside the wonderful community of people at MVCC. Steve is an introverted internal processor and an avid cyclist, enjoying the headspace afforded by many hours alone in the saddle.
We talked so much about introvert vs. extrovert and how we each worship and live life with Jesus in different ways. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Her own journey through adversity, surviving a severe Traumatic Brain Injury and two week coma and the lifetime recovery through trauma and healing led her to see the impact the incredible resources surrounding her had on her life. Through her studies in Community Psychology it was confirmed that there was a link between brain health and community support. This launched her dream to share resources and empower others towards resilience. She founded Resilience Resourcing in 2019 which is now, Neuro Wellness Community. She hosts the Resilience Resourcing Podcast where she's had the honor of spotlighting stories of resilience from celebrities in film and music, to national spokeswomen, doctors and all in between who've overcome adversity in reaching for their dreams, sharing their "real on their way to resilience". I feel like this might be the harder part for some of you, but I know this much to be true. Growth is on the other side of hard things. Freedom is on the other side of obedience. This has been something I've felt Him nudging me to do for quite a while and, to be honest, didn't do it simply out of fear of looking silly. Well, that's just not a good enough reason any more. So, with that I present to you Spinning Plates Meditates, a spin off from Spinning Plates Podcast. Meditation is something I've been able to use as a tool in my own life the past couple of years. It's helped me calm anxiety, remain focused, feel connected to myself, be a better parent and wife, relief stress, and simply declutter my very busy brain. It can, also, be overwhelming if you have a perception of it like I did for so long. I was always afraid I was "doing it wrong" or "could never sit still that long". Reality is, though, that you can't mess up meditation. You can't even do it wrong. It's creating a space for you throughout your day to just be and just breathe. I want to show you how you can incorporate faith into meditation. I want to lead you through some of the tools and exercises that I turn to when I'm feeling overwhelmed. I want to help you find ways to feel connected safe that it's not weird. I'm on the journey with you. Look for episodes to be sprinkled throughout. How often, yet to be determined. Friend, it's a choice. I spent years living settled and complacent. I spent countless hours thinking I SHOULD do something. I felt like I could never change. I felt like my issues were unfixable. I felt like I could never be consistent. I would be frustrated or snappy, thinking it was the result of others actions that made me feel that way. Until the day I realized I get to choose. Truly choose. Despite circumstances or situations, I get to choose to take care of my mind, body, and soul. I get to choose what I fuel myself with. I get to choose to move. I get to choose how I react.
I didn't start out nailing it every day and I still don't nail it every day, but when it doesn't go the way I planned I do know I get to choose how I keep going. How I show myself and others grace in the process. How I show up!
