My guest today is Marina Pacheco, a prolific writer who has written more than thirty books in various genres including historical fiction, romance, science fiction and short stories. She has lived in a number of cities including London, Johannesburg, and Bangkok before settling in Lisbon.

In today’s podcast I welcomed back my brother Peter Daly, for another discussion. Last year I did a podcast with him about Stoicism which included a discussion about Marcus Aurelius emperor and stoic philosopher.
Today Peter is here to talk about Roman history and civilisation from the start of the reign of Augustus to the end of the empire in 476 AD. At the end the discussion moves on to how the Roman Empire influenced todays society.
Today’s podcast is the first in a new season of podcasts and was recorded in Lisbon. It features an interview with writer and artist Nuno Neves who is a very creative guy and a member of the Lisbon Writers Meetup group. He’s has written a number of books, recorded music which is on Spotify and Apple Music, and is currently working on a graphic novel.
Due to nearby construction noise at my apartment, we decided to record the interview in a local park so there are city noises in the background and the audio quality is a little lower than usual.

Today my guest is Chris Ward, who describes himself as a “Technical Communicator” and we’ll discuss that later. He played in a band in the early 2000s, and he has also moved around the world a lot and worked in many areas, always finding interesting work to do.
He’s a podcaster, video maker, a games enthusiast, and a technical writer.
Chris talks about his life in the “Art Brut” band in the early 2000s and more recently his life in Australia and currently Berlin.

Ray Bonilla is an illustrator and painter from Buffalo, New York, who paints wonderful cityscapes, portraits and still life paintings. This interview follows the journey of Ray's art career to date, from illustration, to a brief encounter with animation to working as a fine art painter. Róisín Curé has drawn and painted hundreds if not thousands of urban sketches and has also created two books on the topic, with a new one due out later this year. This interview covers her life and work and her enthusiasm for sketching "life in front of her eyes" as she calls it. The video version of this episode includes more than fifty of her sketches as part of the interview.

If I asked any random person on the street “what is Stoicism?”, I’m pretty sure many of them would be hard pressed to say more than a sentence or two about it, and I have to include myself in that group, so I had to do a quite a bit of research before talking with today’s guest, Peter Daly, my brother, who has been practising Stoicism for 15 years.
