An opportunity for Disney fanatics to share why they feel the way they do about anything Disney! Want to talk about Disney Parks? Okay! Disney Cruise Lines? All Aboard! Adventures By Disney? Let's do it! It's all about fun, a little news, and living vicariously through each other until we can get back to what we love!
On this tour of Disney Conversations, I talk about the keys that I believe led to the development and ultimate success of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Walt was well known for his love of this planet and everything on it, as evidenced by his True-Life Adventure series. I talk a bit about how that leads to bringing it all to life at a wonderful theme park.
Finally, I end with a note of gratitude to all who have contributed and supported this show!
Thank you for listening, downloading, and Sharing!

Hello Tourists! On this adventure of Disney Conversations, we take a look at the differences and similarities of Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom as compared to Walt's original park Disneyland! For this discussion, Magical Matthew is joined by Tour Guides Janette Pellegrini and Mindy Muir! If you are planning a trip to one of these parks, and you have never been, we hope you find this information useful.
Walt Disney World's MagicKingdom and Disneyland Park in Anaheim are two of the most popular theme parks in the world. While they share some similarities, they also have somesignificant differences. Here are some key comparisons between the two:
Size and Layout: Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom is significantly larger than Disneyland Park in terms of overall size and number of attractions. The Magic Kingdom covers an area of 107 acres and has 47 rides and attractions. Disneyland Park, on the other hand, covers only 85 acres and has 40 attractions. The layout of the two parks is also different, with the Magic Kingdom arranged in a circular pattern around the iconic Cinderella Castle, while Disneyland Park is more linear in design, with its entrance on one end and Sleeping Beauty Castleon the other.
Unique Attractions: While both parks share some attractions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean and It's a Small World, there are also many unique attractions to each park. Magic Kingdom has several attractions not found at Disneyland, including the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and the classic Carousel of Progress. Meanwhile, Disneyland Park has its own exclusive attractions, such as the Indiana Jones Adventure, the Matterhorn Bobsleds, and the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
Dining Options: Both parks offer a variety of dining options, ranging from quick-service snack stands to sit-down restaurants. However, Disneyland Parkhas a slightly larger variety of dining options, with unique restaurants such as the Blue Bayou, located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and theCafe Orleans, which serves New Orleans-inspired cuisine.
Atmosphere: The overall atmosphere of each park is also different. Magic Kingdom has a more grand, regal feel with its ornate castle and spacious Main Street, USA. Disneyland Park, on the other hand, has a more whimsical and nostalgic feel, with attractions like the original It's a Small World and classic characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

We talk about how we would get there, where we would stay, and how we would plan our time. Some plans are packed bell to bell, but some ideas allow for some relaxation, as well.

On Tour 99, Magical Matthew and Tour Guide Diane Whiting compare Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort with Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort.
And, while there are many similarities, there are also some significant differences to consider.
Theme: The Wilderness Lodge is inspired by the National Park lodges of the Pacific Northwest, whilethe Animal Kingdom Lodge is inspired by African wildlife preserves.
Location: The Wilderness Lodge is situated in the Magic Kingdom area, while the Animal KingdomLodge is located near the Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Room Views: While both resorts offer beautiful views, the Animal Kingdom Lodge has savannah-facing rooms where guests can observe grazing wildlife. The Wilderness Lodge, on the other hand, offers views of the resort's natural surroundings, such as the Copper Creek Springs Pool or the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
Dining options: The Animal Kingdom Lodge has more dining options with its signature restaurant, Jiko - The Cooking Place, offering African-inspired cuisine, as well as Boma - Flavors of Africa, and Sanaa. The Wilderness Lodge has fewer dining options with its signature restaurant, Artist Point, offering Pacific Northwest-inspired cuisine.
Amenities: Both resorts offer numerous amenities, including pools, fitness centers, and complimentary transportation to the Disney parks. However, the Animal Kingdom Lodge also has cultural activities such as drum circles, and animal programs including the Wildlife Discovery Excursion, while the Wilderness Lodge offers outdoor activities such as fishing, bike rentals, and campfires

On Tour 98, I am joined by Tour Guides Diane Whiting and Mindy Muir and together we compare the Port Orleans Resorts (Riverside andFrench Quarter) to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. We all have favorites and that comes through during the discussion.
Our goal is to give you as much information as possible to help you plan your next visit to the Walt Disney World area. Disney's Port Orleans Resorts and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are both moderate-level resorts at Walt Disney World, but they offer different themes and amenities.
Disney's Port Orleans Resorts consists of two separate but adjacent resorts: Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. These resorts are themed after the historic French Quarter and the antebellum South, respectively. The resort features lush landscaping, waterways, and cobblestone streets. The rooms are spacious, and some offer views of the Sassagoula River. Both resorts have multiple pools, and there is a scenic boat ride that connects the two.
On the other hand, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is themed after the colorful islands of the Caribbean, with each island represented by a different section of the resort. The resort features white sand beaches, swaying palm trees, and a tropical village atmosphere. The rooms are bright and colorful, and some offer water views. The resort has multiple pools, including a large main pool with a pirate-themed water play area.
In terms of amenities, both resorts offer similar dining options, including quick-service and table-service restaurants. However, Port Orleans Resorts has a more extensive selection of recreational activities, including fishing, bike rentals, and horse-drawn carriage rides. Caribbean Beach Resort, on the other hand, has a more extensive selection of transportation options, including the Disney Skyliner, which offers convenient access to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
In summary, both Port Orleans Resorts and Caribbean Beach Resort offer unique theming and amenities, and the choice between the two may come down to personal preferences. Port Orleans Resorts offers a more serene, Southern-style atmosphere with more recreational activities, while Caribbean Beach Resort offers a vibrant, tropical atmosphere with more convenient transportation options.

Hello Tourists!
We are beginning to look at various resorts at Walt Disney World by comparing them to each other. We consider party sizes, personalities, even noise levels in our look at these places to stay for our vacations. On this week's show, we compare the Family Suites at Art of Animation to the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. And, while they both can fit larger families or parties up to 6 people, they are completely different accommodation types.
We will dive deep into looking at both options during this adventure, as Magical Matthew and Tour Guide Diane Whiting discuss all these resorts have to offer. We talk about the rooms, food options, transportation, and much more.
For a video walkabout of the Art of Animation, check out my video HERE.
Next time, we will compare three of the moderate offerings at Walt Disney World.

Diane and Matthew look at the things on their Disney Christmas Wish List for this year. With the return of Bob Iger it is easy to want to make that list even larger. And we do get into some of that, but mostly we talk about OUR Disney List! The things we would like to be able to accomplish or see changed as our Christmas gift from the Disney Company.
If you have something you'd like to share as well, please drop by the Disney Conversations Podcast page on Facebook and leave a comment for us!
Diane and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays!

Last week we took a tour of Disney's Hollywood Studios to help you plan where and when to stop to get something to eat if you didn't want to leave the park. On this week's tour we are looking at the Studio Adjacent resorts, assessible by way of the Skyliner to help those of you who may want to get our of the park for an extended break, or are looking for a reason to check out some of these resorts.
Diane and I take a look at just about everything on this adventure, so hold on to something! This is going to be a fun ride!
Please continue to send prayers and pixie dust to Mindy and her family! Progress is slow, but happening! Thank you!

Hello Tourists!!
Tour 80 continues our journey around the Walt Disney World parks and nearby resorts with a trip around Disney's Hollywood Studios. This park has some really good options to suit just about everyone's need. Diane gives us a lot of excellent information to help us plan for our day in this park.
We would like to ask you to send you prayers and well wishes to Mindy. She and her family have been facing some ongoing medical issues that are finally seeing some resolve. As a result, she may not be here much over the next several weeks. We appreciate it!
Next week, we will tour the Hollywood Studios "area" resorts. Thanks to the Disney Skyliner, there is fabulous access to some nice out of the park experiences that allow us to expand our palette, and get some needed break time for the middle of our day.
Until we meet again, friends...

Have you ever wanted to go to Walt Disney World on a solo visit? I have done this, and there are some really great experiences you can have visiting this way. My friend, Laurie Harding, joins us on Disney Conversations to discuss her recent solo visit. She has some great insights on how to make the best of your time in the parks. She talks about the flexibility you can experience when you travel alone with no one to have to consider if you need to make a change.
She also talks briefly about having food allergies and what to look out for while at Walt Disney World. But we will be diving deeper into this subject on our next adventure.
Thank you for listening to Disney Conversations! YOU, the tourists, are why we do what we do. And, we would love to have you share your Disney Experiences, too! Talk to us on our Disney Conversations Facebook Group, or email us directly at disneyconversations@outlook.com.

Joined by one of our fantastic tour guides, Diane Whiting, we look at some of the restaurant options in the Magic Kingdom Resort area. Our first stop on this excursion is the Grand Floridian with some pretty tempting dishes. We wander into the Polynesian for some inspired bits, and then stop by the Contemporary Resort to talk about the view while grabbing a bite to eat.
We also take a little trip across the Seven Seas Lagoon into the Bay Lake area to check out the Ft. Wilderness Campground and then we finish our journey at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort for some fun and one very interesting Character dining option.
I hope you aren't hungry, but you may be after listening to this tour of Disney Conversations.

On this tour of Disney Conversations, we begin a series on eating our way around Disney Parks. We begin at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, but will make our way though all of the WDW parks and resorts, and we will also take a trip out to Disneyland, where I am sure Mindy and Diane will have plenty to share about the good eats and treats in California. I am also hoping to have a guest on shortly to talk about those with food allergies and restrictions to give us some tips and tricks for those who are more sensitive to standard fare, so stay tuned for that in the coming weeks.

Welcome aboard this tour! We continue our look at the recent vacation that the Magical Matthew family took to Walt Disney World.
Why are we doing this in stages, you ask? Simple, there is a lot to share! And my wife is really good at details and adds a different perspective on what might make sense of others visiting the parks with her type of personality. It's really great information!
This week we spend most of our time talking about our days at EPCOT Center! There were some ups and some downs to our time there. And we wrap up with a look at our choices during the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival.
Join us again next time when we travel to Disney Hollywood Studios!

So many people think that going to a Disney park is just for families with kids. What if I were to tell you that you might be wrong with that assumption? When Walt Disney first developed the concept of a theme park, his ideas WAS to be for families. But Mr. Disney was also a forward thinking man. He knew that grown-ups needed time away from kids, and he made sure there were things to do, especially at Walt Disney World that adults could enjoy.
On Tour #36, Mindy and Matthew take a look at some of the things to do around the Walt Disney World Resort that grown-ups can truly enjoy. We dip into the parks a bit, but also give you a grander look around the entire WDW property. These are not exhaustive ideas at all, just places to begin planning YOUR grown-up adventure.
If you need advice or help in making those plans, contact me directly at magical_matthew@outlook.com and I'll be happy to help!

She gives us some great insights on needing medical assistance during a stay, the use of the DAS system, and tips on getting the hard to shore dining reservations we might be looking for, but can't find.

On the 30th Episode of Disney Conversations, I am joined by a very good friend, Mindy Muir! Her knowledge and experience with Disney Parks is deep! She brings quite a lot to the table and I am honored that she was a guest this week. She talks about how Disney is a part of her DNA through the work she has done and the way it has had an affect on her family. We chat briefly about Disney Genie+, a topic we will likely talk about more later. As well as some of her favorite things.

Disney Conversations is here to have a little fun and a little news, and a lot of Disney! On this episode, we take a look at the Cast Members in Disney Parks who make the real magic happen. Sadly, they are also often caught in the middle of what the Disney bigwigs decide and what the visiting guest has to say about it. While expected to smile and take it from the guests, Cast Members continue to smile and wave.
I would love to hear about your Cast Member encounters. Send me your experience at disneyconversations@outlook.com and I'll share it in a future episode.
Have a magical week, my friends!

We are currently celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. I thought it would be fun to take a quick look back to see what original attractions, shops, and restaurants were available on opening day 1971. Don't worry, we look at the available lodging options, as well!
Welcome to this week's episode of Disney Conversations! I am so glad you are listening! If you are enjoying the content, could I ask you to do me a little favor? Share this podcast with your friends! Disney Conversations is available on all major podcast platforms and I need your help to spread it around. Thank you, in advance, for your support.

There are a lot of Disney fan sites on the internet. There are also some third-party sites that offer a more unbiased look at all things Disney. On this episode of Disney Conversations, we look at how to use some of those third-party sites when planning your vacation. And, I offer what may be a very unpopular opinion in the Disney Community that I happen to disagree with.
Thanks for your support!

This week, I decided to do a bit of a refresher for myself on Disney Cruise Lines. They are finally getting ready to sail again from the United States, and I thought it was a good time to get reacquainted! And I decided to bring you all along with me! We take a quick look at the ships, what they offer, where they leave from, and where they go. And, I get a little more detailed about the soon to sail Disney Wish. So let's all wet our whistle and set sail together, shall we?

It is not an exhaustive list, but I am working on one to post on the Disney Conversations Blog, so stand by!

While younger generations may have some knowledge of Walt Disney's animated movies and the theme parks that carry his name, it is reasonable to think that they may not be very familiar with who Walt Disney was in life. In this week's Disney Conversations, I give a rather brief outline of who Walt Disney was and how his dreams found a way to come true.
I hope you enjoy this episode!
