Tour Guide Mindy Muir takes us along with her on a journey to visit Disneyland's version of Splash Mountain on it's final day! She talks about how long the Queue line was, seeing Tony Baxter as he collected is souvenir water, and some of the other things she did during this visit.
I learned that Disneyland's ride system for Splash is much different than the Walt Disney World version. It will be interesting to see how these will differ with the retheming taking place. And, as we discussed, there are no date given for the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure in either park.

Magical Matthew is joined this week by guest Tour Guide, Laurie Harding, and together they discuss a few ways to celebrate the Disney 100 Anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios. There are some events taking place around the country and we give you some insights on a few ideas. After recording, I did some brainstorming (with ChatGTP), and came up with a few more ideas for you to consider...
- Disney Movie Marathon: Organize a movie marathon featuring your favorite Disney films. You can watch the classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and The Lion King, or include newer releases like Frozen, Moana, or Toy Story. Decorate your viewing area with Disney-themed decorations, snacks, and costumes to make it extra special.
- Disney Cosplay Party: Host a Disney cosplay party where everyone dresses up as their favorite Disney characters. Encourage your guests to come dressed as princesses, princes, villains, or any beloved Disney character. You can organize costume contests, play Disney trivia games, and have a themed photo booth to capture the magical moments.
- Disney-Themed Decorations: Decorate your living space with Disney-themed decorations to create a festive atmosphere. Hang Disney banners, posters, and balloons, and set up tables adorned with Disney tablecloths and centerpieces. Use color schemes associated with popular Disney movies, such as blue and white for Frozen or yellow and red for Mickey Mouse.
- Disney-inspired Food: Prepare a menu featuring Disney-inspired dishes and treats. Disney movies can be classified in a number of ways, depending on the criteria used. Here are a few examples:

- By audience: Some Disney movies are primarily aimed at children, while others are designed to appeal to a broader range of viewers, including adults.

Hello Tourists! On this adventure of Disney Conversations, we take a look at the differences and similarities of Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom as compared to Walt's original park Disneyland! For this discussion, Magical Matthew is joined by Tour Guides Janette Pellegrini and Mindy Muir! If you are planning a trip to one of these parks, and you have never been, we hope you find this information useful.
Walt Disney World's MagicKingdom and Disneyland Park in Anaheim are two of the most popular theme parks in the world. While they share some similarities, they also have somesignificant differences. Here are some key comparisons between the two:

Size and Layout: Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom is significantly larger than Disneyland Park in terms of overall size and number of attractions. The Magic Kingdom covers an area of 107 acres and has 47 rides and attractions. Disneyland Park, on the other hand, covers only 85 acres and has 40 attractions. The layout of the two parks is also different, with the Magic Kingdom arranged in a circular pattern around the iconic Cinderella Castle, while Disneyland Park is more linear in design, with its entrance on one end and Sleeping Beauty Castleon the other.

Unique Attractions: While both parks share some attractions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean and It's a Small World, there are also many unique attractions to each park. Magic Kingdom has several attractions not found at Disneyland, including the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and the classic Carousel of Progress. Atmosphere: The overall atmosphere of each park is also different. Magic Kingdom has a more grand, regal feel with its ornate castle and spacious Main Street, USA. Disneyland Park, on the other hand, has a more whimsical and nostalgic feel, with attractions like the original It's a Small World and classic characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

On Tour 99, Magical Matthew and Tour Guide Diane Whiting compare Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort with Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort.
And, while there are many similarities, there are also some significant differences to consider.

Theme: The Wilderness Lodge is inspired by the National Park lodges of the Pacific Northwest, whilethe Animal Kingdom Lodge is inspired by African wildlife preserves.

Location: The Wilderness Lodge is situated in the Magic Kingdom area, while the Animal KingdomLodge is located near the Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Room Views: While both resorts offer beautiful views, the Animal Kingdom Lodge has savannah-facing rooms where guests can observe grazing wildlife. The Wilderness Lodge, on the other hand, offers views of the resort's natural surroundings, such as the Copper Creek Springs Pool or the forests of the Pacific Northwest.

Dining options: The Animal Kingdom Lodge has more dining options with its signature restaurant, Jiko - The Cooking Place, offering African-inspired cuisine, as well as Boma - Flavors of Africa, and Sanaa. On Tour 98, I am joined by Tour Guides Diane Whiting and Mindy Muir and together we compare the Port Orleans Resorts (Riverside andFrench Quarter) to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. We all have favorites and that comes through during the discussion.
Our goal is to give you as much information as possible to help you plan your next visit to the Walt Disney World area. Disney's Port Orleans Resorts and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are both moderate-level resorts at Walt Disney World, but they offer different themes and amenities.
Disney's Port Orleans Resorts consists of two separate but adjacent resorts: Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. These resorts are themed after the historic French Quarter and the antebellum South, respectively. The resort features lush landscaping, waterways, and cobblestone streets. The rooms are spacious, and some offer views of the Sassagoula River. Both resorts have multiple pools, and there is a scenic boat ride that connects the two.
On the other hand, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is themed after the colorful islands of the Caribbean, with each island represented by a different section of the resort. The resort features white sand beaches, swaying palm trees, and a tropical village atmosphere. The rooms are bright and colorful, and some offer water views. The resort has multiple pools, including a large main pool with a pirate-themed water play area.
In terms of amenities, both resorts offer similar dining options, including quick-service and table-service restaurants. However, Port Orleans Resorts has a more extensive selection of recreational activities, including fishing, bike rentals, and horse-drawn carriage rides. Caribbean Beach Resort, on the other hand, has a more extensive selection of transportation options, including the Disney Skyliner, which offers convenient access to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
In summary, both Port Orleans Resorts and Caribbean Beach Resort offer unique theming and amenities, and the choice between the two may come down to personal preferences. Port Orleans Resorts offers a more serene, Southern-style atmosphere with more recreational activities, while Caribbean Beach Resort offers a vibrant, tropical atmosphere with more convenient transportation options.

We consider party sizes, personalities, even noise levels in our look at these places to stay for our vacations. Hello Tourists!!
Tour 80 continues our journey around the Walt Disney World parks and nearby resorts with a trip around Disney's Hollywood Studios. This park has some really good options to suit just about everyone's need. Diane gives us a lot of excellent information to help us plan for our day in this park.
We would like to ask you to send you prayers and well wishes to Mindy. She and her family have been facing some ongoing medical issues that are finally seeing some resolve. As a result, she may not be here much over the next several weeks. We appreciate it!
Next week, we will tour the Hollywood Studios "area" resorts. Thanks to the Disney Skyliner, there is fabulous access to some nice out of the park experiences that allow us to expand our palette, and get some needed break time for the middle of our day.

Joined by one of our fantastic tour guides, Diane Whiting, we look at some of the restaurant options in the Magic Kingdom Resort area. Our first stop on this excursion is the Grand Floridian with some pretty tempting dishes. We wander into the Polynesian for some inspired bits, and then stop by the Contemporary Resort to talk about the view while grabbing a bite to eat.
We also take a little trip across the Seven Seas Lagoon into the Bay Lake area to check out the Ft. Wilderness Campground and then we finish our journey at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort for some fun and one very interesting Character dining option.

On our first tour of the Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts, we will be giving you an audio glimpse of the Magic Kingdom resorts. Well, most of them! We begin at the most recognizable Contemporary Resort. With it's A-Frame design it is easily the most known of all Disney Resorts, especially when it swallows the Monorail Trains!
From there was float over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. I really want to stay here someday! The restaurants alone make this resort something special! And, finally we stop over at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. With all of the recent refurbishments, the Poly has taken on something of a different personality!
We hope you enjoy this little excursion and will come back next time when we look at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and the EPCOT area Disney Owned Resorts.

What a joy it was to have my friend, Rachel, join me this week. It was a quickly planned addition to a trip they were already planning, but it ended up being a great time for all involved. I had the extreme pleasure of helping them put this together. Rachel shares their adventures as they visited Disney's Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom. They also explored a little of Disney Springs.

So many people think that going to a Disney park is just for families with kids. What if I were to tell you that you might be wrong with that assumption? When Walt Disney first developed the concept of a theme park, his ideas WAS to be for families. But Mr. Disney was also a forward thinking man. He knew that grown-ups needed time away from kids, and he made sure there were things to do, especially at Walt Disney World that adults could enjoy.
On Tour #36, Mindy and Matthew take a look at some of the things to do around the Walt Disney World Resort that grown-ups can truly enjoy.
