Anger is just like every other emotion but it's not OK for us to express anger in society.
We must be happy, positive and upbeat so as not to make others feel awkward or upset. But as mums have a lot to juggle and sometimes we just want to scream. This episode is about normalising the 'normal' and I share one of my 'rage' experiences.
Mum rage is a real condition we often mistake for just anger, and is a result of extreme burnout and lack of self-care.
Next episode goes into detail on what to do to prevent burnout from happening - Episode 3 - Avoid Burnout. Don't miss out on this one and bring your notepad and pen. Make sure to follow the podcast so you're alerted when episodes are live.

Motherhood is one of the greatest and most rewarding things many women experience but it's also one of the hardest and most challenging. We want so badly to be perfect mothers and we don’t want others to see our struggles, fearing we’re alone in these feelings, and others will think we’re unworthy of motherhood. The fear of sharing our struggles, however, is the very thing that creates a cycle which can lead to many of these feelings and thoughts. Knowing these things are normal is often all it takes to alleviate stress and the dreaded mum guilt. Sometimes, hearing “me too” is all we need to process them and other times, we simply need more support and to talk, but we won’t find that support without being honest. I’ve been told that by many sources I’ve read. I’m so confused 😅 I feel so hesitant - conflicting info? Take organ supps instead?I do know we’re only meant to take them short term - but then how do I prevent my iron going down (& not needing to take it again).I had 2 iron infusions (the first wasn’t enough). I got an allergic reaction to my second infusion - hives. Won’t be doing that again--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/realtalkformums/message

Today we ended up with some random chats due to our very interesting past week.
We spoke getting back into work after being on maternity, handling mastitis and the latest amazing therapy to use which means you don’t have to go straight for the antibiotics.
Mags shares how she handles two children and run a business.
Lara updates us on her first week in her postpartum period, why she’s no longer a ‘good girl’ and of course, what’s been going on with her poo.
We also go into it about how you can’t please everyone in the world and at some point you have to just be yourself and let go of those who don’t like it.
As always, any questions and feedback, we'd love to hear from you realtalkformums@gmail.com

Mum tum, mummy pooch, mum belly, muffin top - not a fan of these names but it's what we are all calling our tummies after having babies it seems.
The drive to get rid of it is real and after searching the terms on Google we find there's some crazy things suggested to help mums. Mags and Lara go through these 'ideas'.
We discuss factors that could be a factor in why there may be more weight on the tummy - i.e. loose skin, ab separation, fat.
Mags talks about her surprising finding after attending a pelvic floor check thats to do with her tummy.
Lara explains what she did to get leaner and stronger postpartum than even before she had babies and it's not anything to do with how the fitness industry teaches to help women lose weight.
We answer some questions that mums have asked around pot belly and ab separation and whether there is an exercise we should be focussing on for our core.
Mags gets passionate about the mindset behind our bodies.
We touch on nutrition and simple ways for mums to tackle the tummy weight if it's become a priority for them, no matter how long you are postpartum.
As always, if you have questions about this episode, please get in touch and let us know your thoughts. This podcast was created for mums, by mums.
