In this episode of the Planted not Buried Podcast, Lance Thonvold delves into the concept of prioritizing life's portions. Expanding on previous "Dying Empty" discussions, he emphasizes the importance of recognizing unique portions for personal growth. Instead of comparing portion sizes, focus on two common issues:
Expired Portions: Similar to clearing a plate of expired food, let go of past mistakes and grudges to create space for blessings.
Disliked Tastes: Embrace life's challenges, treating them like initially disliked but beneficial portions that lead to transformative growth.
REMEMBER! Direct your attention solely to your portions—discard expired elements, forgive yourself, and embrace initially unappealing aspects. This intentional focus on your unique journey unlocks profound transformations.

In this episode of the Planted not Buried Podcast, Lance Thonvold introduces Hunter's remarkable story, a testament to the beauty found on the other side of life's fiery trials. Much like the biblical figures Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Hunter emerged unharmed, not even smelling like smoke. Despite losing a job, Hunter found his calling, working full-time at Rock Point Church, married with kids. It wasn't the path he expected, but it was the right decision.
So, when life feels like a furnace, remember, it's better to endure the heat for God's plan than avoid discomfort. God's sovereignty brings blessings, even if circumstances don't change. Reflecting on my own furnace in Mariners rehab, I emerged changed, my perspective shifted, and life became a blessing beyond baseball.
If you're pushing carts through your own fire, take heart. God has a unique plan for you, shaping you into someone only you can be. Keep enduring, keep pushing those carts, because on the other side of the furnace is a life beyond your wildest dreams.

In today's episode of the Planted Not Buried Podcast Lance Thonvold talks about "Timer or Stop watch"
Let's tear off the roof of those limitations and embrace the stopwatch mentality. Whether it's your fitness journey, your career, your relationships, or your walk with God—don't set a timer. Set a stopwatch and see how far you can go, how long you can endure, and how much you can achieve.
The Challenge:
Stop setting timers on your life. Don't cap your potential. Instead, unleash it. Don't have a timer on your marriage, your relationships, your dreams, or your walk with God. Embrace the stopwatch mentality, endure longer, and see the incredible results.
Remember, God has a stopwatch for your life. He's saying, "How long can you endure? How far can you go?" The more time you spend with Him, the more endurance, wisdom, and strength you gain.

In today's episode of Planted not Buried Podcast is all about feeling strong when it seems unlikely.
Feeling strong when you shouldn't? John 3:30 says, "He must increase, I must decrease." Even in uncertain times, trust God's goodness and immerse yourself in His word. Don't grind relentlessly; sometimes working less lets God increase while you decrease. Find strength in Joshua 1:9 – you're strong and courageous with God.
So, go and embrace the strength that comes from God's nature. Even when the world says you shouldn't feel strong, feel strong! Cast your cares on Him, and even when it seems counterintuitive, let God increase while you decrease. Feel strong, embrace His nature, and have a blessed day! 🌿

Hey, Planted 365 Family! Hope you're having a blessed day.
Here's another exciting episode of Planted Not Buried Podcast, Lance Thonvold.
Now let's talk about "EMPTY YOUR PLATE". I'm pumped up after a session with the baseball team at Ottawa University Arizona. Coach Tim Montz is all about an "others first" mentality, and we dove into the concept of service. I introduced an acronym, SERVE, and wrapped up with a powerful idea – the die-empty mentality.
You see, many folks aim to be full of cars, houses, money, and possessions when they die. But I challenge you to desire to die empty. Picture your life as a plate of food. To be full, you must empty the plate each day. Every piece of that plate, like the diverse elements of your life, contributes unique nutrients to make you stronger. Sure, some things may not taste great – like my wife's daily carrot salad – but she eats it for the benefits it brings. Similarly, God gives each of us a unique plate with specific challenges and sacrifices. We may not like the taste, but if we want to be our best selves, we must consume all that He's provided. Stop adding worldly treats that may taste good but won't fulfill you. Focus on your plate, consume everything God has given you, and you'll find yourself full of Christ and the Gospel. Stay blessed, and let's get it! 🚀

What's up, Planted 365! In today's episode of Planted not Buried Podcast, Lance Thonvold.
We explored the powerful connection between our posture before God and the provisions He has for our lives. Drawing inspiration from 1 Samuel 7, where Israel's repentance and realignment led to divine provisions, we likened this to getting chiropractic adjustments. Just as a consistent effort is needed to stay aligned physically, repentance alone won't bring God's provisions; we must consistently align our actions with His will. The message emphasized the importance of hating sin, changing our posture towards God, and actively taking steps to stay in alignment with His promises.
Today's lesson encourages us to examine our posture before God, fostering a genuine desire for alignment and repentance. By consistently seeking His will and hating sin, we position ourselves to receive the abundant provisions God has in store for our lives. Let's actively align ourselves with His promises and stay committed to the transformative journey ahead. 🙏✨

Hello, Planted365 community! Lance Thonvold here, excited to welcome you to yet another captivating episode of the Planted Not Buried Podcast.
BE ENCOURAGED!
In a moment of quiet observation in my yard, I marveled at the simplicity of watching my daughter embrace the present. The realization struck me: my default tendency to worry, whether about finances or imagined scenarios, is a shared struggle for many. Engaging with Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost For His Highest" prompted introspection, leading me to identify the hindrance to a deeper connection with God as a lack of alignment.
During my prayer time, a revelation surfaced – worry serves as a significant blockade, consuming energy on concerns that God has already addressed. The contrast between my daughter's carefree joy and my needless anxieties was stark. With a resolute declaration, I aim to make 2024 the last year of worry. "Alignment" is my chosen theme for the year, seeking harmonious synchronization with God in every aspect of life. A guiding scripture, Lamentations 3:22-23, reinforces God's unwavering kindness and renewed compassion each morning.
The lesson here is clear: Release the burden of worrying about the uncertain future. God's enduring kindness is a constant. Let's collectively declare a shift from worry as our default setting to a focus on being fully aligned with God, trusting in His unwavering faithfulness. My prayer extends to each listener, encouraging you to find the strength to let go of worry and align yourself with God's divine plan. Let's step into each day with joy, akin to my daughter's carefree spirit, and make 2024 a year marked by faith and freedom from unnecessary worries.
Remember to check out the newsletter for daily inspiration on this transformative journey. Let's go!

Greetings, Planted365 community! Lance Thonvold here, thrilled to usher you into another thrilling episode of the Planted Not Buried Podcast.
Psalms 55:22 became my anchor. "Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken." This verse isn't just a platitude; it's become my practical antidote to worry.
Let's face it – setting goals is one thing, but do we have a solid plan to navigate the twists and turns of life? That's the game-changer. As I declared war on worry, I needed a battle plan. Psalms 55:22 is my mantra, my truth, my scripture to combat worry head-on.
I'm extending an invitation to all of you – let's adopt this powerful affirmation together. When worry creeps in, cast it onto the Lord, trusting in His sustaining power. The promise is crystal clear – the righteous won't be shaken. It's a mindset shift, an alignment with God's unchanging truth.
As we navigate 2024, let's commit to living fully aligned with God's plan, striving for righteousness and obedience.

Hey Planted365 family! It's Lance Thonvold, and welcome to another exciting episode of the Planted Not Buried Podcast.
Let's dive into the transformative power of praising God for who He is, not just for what He does. And let's draw an inspiration from the biblical narrative of the Ark of God and the Israelites, discover the importance of recognizing God's nature and sovereignty
"It's who, Not What." We often find ourselves idolizing the blessings, growth, or successes God grants us. But the key is to shift our focus to praising God for His nature, for who He is. His nature is inherently good, and by aligning our desires with Him, all the blessings we seek will naturally follow. Let's stop idolizing the "what" and start praising the "who." Whether in times of plenty or waiting, God's nature remains constant and worthy of praise.

Hey Planted365 family! It's Lance Thonvold, and welcome to another exciting episode of the Planted Not Buried Podcast.
Today, let's draw an inspiration from the story of Hannah and Penah, where Hannah made a profound sacrifice in dedicating her son Samuel to the Lord. She didn't hold onto what she wanted; she gave up Samuel, and on the other side of that sacrifice, God blessed her with five more children.
Consider this challenge: What are you holding onto too tightly? Are you resisting the discomfort of sacrifice? It could be in your goals, relationships, or even comfort zones. I recently spoke to a wrestling team about letting go of ease and comfort. As we embark on our New Year's goals, let's embrace the discomfort of sacrifice, knowing that on the other side lies growth, blessings, and a transformed mindset. You're worth the sacrifice, so let's give up ease and comfort for the habits and discipline that make us champions, not just in our pursuits but in life. Remember, there's something valuable inside you that's worth the sacrifice. It is possible, and you can have something beautiful on the other side. Have a blessed day, Planted365 family!

Hey Planted365 fam! Weclome to a new exciting episode of the Planted Not Buried Podcast, Lance Thonvold.
Let's discuss the power of perseverance in today's tale! Five years ago, Kaylee and I planted a dwarf citrus tree when we moved into our first home. Named after the Spanish word for orange, "Naranja," our street's moniker added a touch of irony to the tale.
Year after year, we eagerly awaited the fruit's arrival, questioning when it would grace our tree. After transitioning the house to a rental, our patience was rewarded. Last night, our renters messaged my wife – our dwarf citrus tree had finally borne fruit!
Reflecting on this journey, it's a poignant reminder of life's parallels. Like the tree, our endeavors require time, effort, and nurturing. Despite five fruitless years, we persevered, and our diligence paid off.
Consider this: What dreams or goals have you prematurely abandoned? Are you in a season of sowing or watering? Don't lose heart – consistency breeds success. Let's continue nurturing our aspirations and trust in the process. 🍊💪

"OUR GRIEF IS GONE"
In today's episode, we draw inspiration from 1 Samuel, where Hannah's powerful story teaches us to shed anxiety and stress. Hannah, burdened by her inability to conceive, found solace on her hands and knees, praying silently. Remarkably, her grief vanished even before her circumstances changed.
Take this lesson to heart: Surrender your burdens, and watch your anxieties dissipate before tangible change. Like Hannah, embrace divine intervention for a transformative journey.
This is Lance Thonvold, urging you to unburden your soul and invite miracles. Let's embark on this transformative journey together.

"TURNING THE PAGE Part 2"
Navigating life's uncertainties can be a struggle, especially when torn between personal desires and God's will. In my journey, a career-ending injury forced me to confront this battle, always chasing the next achievement but finding it never enough.
Ecclesiastes teaches that every season, even in difficulty, holds purpose and beauty. How did I find peace? Through surrender. Declaring 'God, you fulfill me' in every moment became my anchor for alignment.
It's not just about turning the page; it's about being in full alignment with God. As we enter 2024, let's intentionally turn the page, seeking His alignment in every season. Amidst difficulties, uncertainties, and pressures, surrendering to God brings a peace beyond understanding. Join me on this journey, aligned with His plan—every season is beautiful and purposeful.

What's up, Planted 365! In today's episode of Planted not Buried Podcast,
Lance Thonvold. We are bringing you a quick, powerful message from my conversation with my friend.
I recently had a conversation with Jake about how limited we are when God gives us a play. Proverbs 34 reminds us of God's omnipotence, controlling the winds and oceans. Imagine the best football coach trying to teach Pop Warner players complex plays – it wouldn't make sense to them. Similarly, God, who controls all things, instructs us with plays that may seem beyond our understanding. It's okay to be scared; just get in alignment with God and run the play, even if it feels unfathomable. Don't call audibles; trust the Coach who controls the wind and oceans.
So, today, I challenge you to run the play God has set for you, even if it seems daunting. Don't let your limited mindset question His guidance. Remember, God's plays may not align with your character; they are designed to transform you. Embrace the fear, step out in faith, and let's make it happen! 🌱

Hello, Planted Family! Welcome to another insightful episode of the Planted not Buried Podcast with your host, Lance Thonvold. Today, we'll be honing in on the powerful concept of "Mustard Seed of Faith."
Reflecting on 2023, even in struggles, God's hand was evident, shaping my faith. It's like a muscle – grows when you act in faith, especially when the path isn't clear. In April 2023, I aimed to speak at local schools. Dropped off donuts as the first play, even with uncertainties. Perry High School had no budget, but I offered to speak for free, leading to my biggest contract.
Have faith like a mustard seed. In Matthew 17:20, Jesus challenges disciples about faith without His physical presence. Faith is acting, believing even when unseen. You've got this right now. What's that one step you need to take?

BELIEF. ACTION. REQUIREMENT. In this episode of the planted not buried podcast, Lance Thonvold breaks down the 3 levels of excellence. At first you have to BELIEVE you have been made in the image of excellence, then you have to take ACTION and operate within excellence which will require discipline, and lastly you need to begin to REQUIRE excellence from yourself in all areas of your life. Excellence will ooze from your mind, body, and spirit if you focus on your beliefs, taking daily excellent action, and requiring excellence in all that you do. Lance drops many examples from his baseball career and other powerful people he knows to really drive home this message. Thanks for listening.

HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU HAVE LEFT IN THE TANK? In this motivational podcast, Lance Thonvold breaks down how giving everything you got in this life to God, our family, our friends, and this world actually leaves our heart most fulfilled. YOU have been given a GIFT that needs to be deployed, heard, seen, and tapped into that no one else has access to, but you. Will you DIE EMPTY and give everything you got? Lance articulates this message by imploring YOU to stop focusing on accumulating things for fulfillment, but instead look towards daily transformation. This mindset shift is possible by assessing if you are acting more like a BARN or more like a BANK. Tune in for more.

THE DEPTHS OF DARKNESS YOU HAVE DUG YOUR WAY OUT OF HAVE PAVED A PATH FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO WALK THROUGH. In this episode, Lance Thonvold discusses the 3 ways to DISSECT your pain: feel the disappointment, get into dialogue, and go to the depths of darkness to access your destiny. Whether you have big problems, small problems, or first world problems, we have all walked through our own darkness. These problems created pain in our life, whether it was physical or mental pain doesn’t matter, what does matter is the fact that your destiny lies beneath the darkness you are going through or have already gone through. Lock in and learn how to feel your emotions so you don’t burst, get into healthy dialogue with God, and how your “dig” will give others permission to deploy their greatest strength.

In this episode of the Planted Not Buried Podcast Lance Thonvold discusses how “good” and “gifted” we truly are right now, and how the “grounds,” territory, and people we have been given to oversee, influence, and lead isn’t based solely off of our gifts, but off of the amount of TIME we have spent operating in our gift and goodness. When we focus solely on our profits and influence we miss the opportunity to truly make progress towards becoming the best version of ourselves. Lance also discusses the importance of stewarding the foundation we all have at HOME well, and how if we are going to be trusted with “more grounds” we must take care of the one beneath our feet.
