In this episode of Tech Center Tuesday, Joel Heslop talks with program coordinator, Dr. Chrystal McDonald and Mark Noll about the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Blue Ridge We discuss the roles and responsibilities of PTAs and all the exciting opportunities available to them. They look at the hands-on experience and job opportunities available for PTA graduates. They also mention the salary potential and the versatility of the profession. In this episode of Tech Center Tuesday, Joel Heslop talks with Josh Benton, the Dean of the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Department, Dustin Dell, an instructor for the EDET program, and Hunter Hours, a student in the EDET program. They discuss the EDET program, which stands for electrical distribution engineering technology, and its focus on training students to become linemen. They also talk about the facilities at the Tech Center, including the indoor and outdoor pole yards, and the importance of hands-on training in the program. In this episode of the What's Brewing at the Culinary Academy podcast, the hosts invite Allison Zito, the National Accounts Manager for Maple Leaf Farms, to talk about all things duck. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College partnered with First 2 Network to offer new students a Summer Internship Camp this past summer. First 2 Network seeks to improve success of STEM students in West Virginia, with emphasis on rural, first-generation and underrepresented college students, and in turn change the future. Students gained critical skills and hands-on experience these two weeks.This Summer Immersion Camp will be offered again this summer! Hear Kim Graves, Associate Dean for the Division of Information Technology and Mathematics as well as the Program Coordinator for Software Development Engineering, explain a little about the Summer Immersion Camp from July 18 to July 29 and how to get involved. You will also hear from students that experienced the camp, student mentors and a staff member at Rockwool that was involved in the experience.
