After nearly four years, 199 episodes, and countless conversations that have shaped me in ways I could never fully express, this is the final episode of the Living an Intentional Life Podcast.
As I sit down to record these final words, I find myself filled with gratitude, reflection, and an unexpected sense of peace. Not because there isn't sadness. Not because there isn't grief. But because there is clarity.
The kind of clarity that arrives when something has fulfilled its purpose.
In this final episode, I'm reflecting on the journey from the Living Courageously Podcast to the Living an Intentional Life Podcast, the lessons I've learned along the way, the incredible women I've had the honor of interviewing, and the truth that intentional living isn't only about having the courage to begin.
It's also about having the courage to honor what feels complete.
What began as a desire to be seen, heard, and understood became something so much greater. This podcast taught me how to trust my voice, share my truth, and ultimately come home to myself. It became a safe space where I could process life in real time, document seasons of becoming and unbecoming, and connect with women around the world who reminded me that we are never walking this journey alone.
In many ways, this podcast has been my home.
And perhaps one of the greatest gifts it has given me is the realization that I no longer need to prove that I belong. I no longer need to constantly share in order to feel seen. Instead, I sit here feeling deeply rooted in who I am—perfect, whole, and complete, just as I am.
If there's one final invitation I want to leave you with, it's this:
Honor what feels complete.
Trust what is asking to emerge.
You don't have to hold onto chapters that no longer fit simply because they've been meaningful.
Sometimes the most intentional thing we can do is express gratitude for what was and create space for what wants to be.
This isn't goodbye.
It's simply the closing of one beautiful chapter to create space for another.
To every listener, every guest, every woman who reached out to share how an episode touched her life, thank you. Thank you for seeing me, hearing me, and allowing me to belong.
You helped make Living an Intentional Life exactly what it was meant to be.
With all my love and gratitude,
Ashley

What if living intentionally wasn't about doing more—but about getting clear on what matters most?
In this heartfelt conversation, I'm joined by Carly Cruickshank —mom, entrepreneur, designer, and co-host of You Handled That Perfectly™. Together, we explore the freedom that comes from choosing a single priority and allowing that priority to guide the decisions we make every day.
Carly shares her journey from corporate burnout to building White Space Design®, her own successful packaging design agency, after recognizing that the life she wanted to create for herself and her family required a different path. We discuss the courage it takes to walk away from what no longer aligns, the beauty of trusting life's unexpected detours, and how even the smallest decisions have the power to shape our future.
From losing everything in a devastating apartment robbery only to meet the man who would become her husband, to discovering her passion for graphic design through one simple act of curiosity, Carly's story is a powerful reminder that life often unfolds in ways we never could have planned.
In this episode, we explore:
✨ Why having one clear priority can simplify decision-making and reduce overwhelm
✨ Releasing hustle culture and redefining success on your own terms
✨ The ripple effect of small, intentional choices
✨ Trusting yourself through major life transitions
✨ Finding freedom, presence, and alignment in the everyday decisions we make
If you've been feeling stretched thin, overwhelmed by competing priorities, or searching for permission to simplify, this conversation is a gentle reminder that you don't have to do it all. You simply have to honor what matters most.
Because sometimes the most intentional life is built one choice, one priority, and one perfectly handled moment at a time.

What if the challenges life places in your path aren't detours—but invitations?
In this heartfelt conversation, I sit down with Alison, certified Heal Your Life® Workshop Leader, Coach, and Retreat Leader, to explore the transformative power of trusting life's unfolding journey.
Inspired by the timeless teachings of Louise Hay, Alison shares how a sudden health crisis became the catalyst that shifted everything. After a successful 20-year corporate career, an unexpected neck injury forced her into a season of stillness and reflection—ultimately guiding her back to herself and toward the work she was always meant to do.
Together, we explore:
Alison also shares the profound realization that changed everything for her: that no amount of professional success matters if we aren't caring for our health, honoring our needs, and being present for the people we love.
This conversation is a gentle reminder that sometimes life's greatest disruptions become the doorway to our deepest healing and most authentic path forward.
If you're navigating change, standing at the threshold of a new chapter, or learning to trust yourself more deeply, this episode offers hope, wisdom, and encouragement to embrace where life is guiding you.
Because perhaps the process of life isn't something we're meant to control. Maybe it's something we're meant to trust.
ABOUT ALISON :
Alison is a certified Heal Your Life® Workshop Leader & Life Coach, sharing the timeless philosophy of Louise Hay with individuals around the world.
Her journey with Louise’s work began back in 2004, when a friend shared a Louise Hay CD that she used to listen to while practising yoga at home. The message — that if you can change your thoughts, you can change your life — struck a deep chord and became a guiding truth in her own life.
Fast forward to 2018, Alison experienced a major life shift when a sudden neck injury forced her to pause a 20-year corporate career. During her healing journey, she found herself immersed once again in Louise’s teachings through the Heal Your Life Worldwide Summit. This period of stillness, reflection, and inner work became a powerful turning point — reminding her that even in the toughest times, life is always guiding us toward growth.
Soon after, she attended the I Can Do It event in London, where she discovered the opportunity to train as a Heal Your Life Workshop Leader — a moment she describes as finding her dream job. She followed that calling wholeheartedly, later becoming a Heal Your Life Coach and completing the Leading with Heart and Mind business training to bring this heart-centred philosophy into the workplace.
Most recently, Alison became a Heal Your Life Retreat Leader, expanding her work into immersive, transformational retreats. Today, Alison helps people all over the world create positive change in their lives through her workshops and coaching. She’s passionate about self-care, connection, and helping others remember their power to heal and transform.
Her approach is gentle yet deeply empowering — blending affirmations, journaling, meditation, visualisation, and other self-healing tools to help people reconnect with themselves and live from the heart. Alison’s story is a beautiful reminder that even when life brings unexpected challenges, they can become the catalyst for profound transformation — and that when we truly trust the process of life, everything unfolds as it is supposed to.

I’m still processing Italy.
I don’t fully have the polished “here’s what I learned” ending yet, but I think there’s something beautiful about sharing from the middle of an experience instead of waiting until everything is neatly understood.
In this episode, I’m taking you through the journey of our girls’ trip through Naples, Sorrento, Positano, and Ischia — a trip that became so much more than just a vacation. From rooftop spritzes and pizza that tasted like infinite possibility, to ferry rides, ocean swims, sunsets against castles, and the quiet unraveling of parts of myself that had long been waiting to be seen again.
We talk about:
This episode is less of a travel recap and more of a reflection on what happens when life reminds you how deeply beautiful being human can be.
Thank you, Italy. Truly.

There was a version of me I quietly put away.
I told myself I was meant to be the student… not the teacher.
That I wasn’t suited for that role.
That part of me slowly went dormant—not because she left, but because I stopped believing in her.
And yet… she never left.

We explore the deeper truth that the parts of us we think we’ve outgrown or left behind are often still within us… waiting.
Waiting to be acknowledged.
Waiting to be chosen again.
This conversation is an invitation to gently reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been quieted, dismissed, or forgotten—and to begin rebuilding a relationship with them, one honest step at a time.
If something has been calling you back…

In this expansive and heart-led conversation, I sit down with Kelsey Erickson, founder of Everme & Co., intuitive leadership coach, depth psychologist, 3x author, and guide for one-of-a-kind creative souls.
Kelsey works with thoughtful overthinkers, recovering control freaks, and visionaries who long to “let go and let it flow” — but aren’t quite sure how. Her signature philosophy, Intuition + Action = Magic, offers a grounded and accessible way to lead a Creatively Designed Life.
We explore what it really means to live with intention — not as something rigid or performative, but as the absence of rushing, forcing, and controlling. For Kelsey, intentionality begins with intuition. When we slow down enough to observe, to be curious, and to be present, we remember who we are.
This conversation weaves through:
• The evolution of identity — in business and in motherhood
• Navigating creative entrepreneurship while pregnant with her first child
• How grief and death continue to shape her inner landscape
• Journaling as a daily non-negotiable (and the power of Morning Pages)
• Why she writes books as a way to always have a gift to offer
Kelsey describes herself as rhizomatic — nonlinear, interconnected, ever-evolving — and this conversation beautifully reflects that. We follow the threads of intuition wherever they lead.
If you are craving a softer way to lead…
If you are tired of forcing and ready to trust…
If you sense there is a more aligned way to create your life…
This episode is for you.

In this episode of Living an Intentional Life Podcast, we explore what it truly means to create a life rooted in alignment and self-trust.
Burnout is not a failure. It is information.
At the beginning of this year, I found myself walking in the forest feeling exhausted, depleted, and out of alignment. I had been operating from the energy I thought I needed — pushing forward, striving, and doing more — but what I actually needed was to recalibrate and reclaim.
This conversation is about:
Non-negotiables are devotion. They reflect what matters most and how you choose to live. Boundaries are protection — creating space for those values to thrive.
If you are tired of self-abandonment, overcommitment, or living in ways that feel out of alignment, this episode is for you.
We also explore how this work connects to deeper support — including 1:1 coaching and our upcoming retreat — spaces designed for recalibration, sisterhood, and coming home to yourself.
You are not broken. You are not behind. You are being invited back to your truth.
Tune in for a grounded, heart-centered conversation on reclaiming alignment and living intentionally.

In this deeply moving and first-of-its-kind episode, Ashley sits down with Chelsea Horton, the somatic therapy practitioner who guided her through a 3.5-month intensive that profoundly changed the way she understands her body, her nervous system, and her healing.
Together, they share a raw, honest conversation about what somatic healing truly looks like — beyond the buzzwords and into the lived experience. Ashley opens up about discovering her trauma responses, sitting with her body through uncontrollable shaking, and being held in a deeply safe and compassionate container as her nervous system learned to release what it had been carrying.
Chelsea gently explains what the body is actually doing in those moments, and why these physical responses are not something to fear — but something to honor.
They also explore how high-achieving, perfectionism, and people-pleasing are often rooted in trauma, and how returning to the body allows us to come back to our wholeness, safety, and truth.

What happens when you finally slow down enough to hear yourself?
In this deeply personal episode of Living an Intentional Life, Ashley shares what unfolded when she created space at the beginning of the year — space to breathe, to walk in the forest, and to listen to the quiet, persistent voice within.
Feeling exhausted, deflated, and disconnected from the energy she wanted to carry forward, Ashley began to receive clear inner guidance: to step away from social media, release alcohol, pause photoshoots, let go of her membership, and invite in more space. None of it felt easy — but all of it felt true.
This episode is an invitation into that same kind of listening. You’ll explore why space is where clarity lives, how to trust the nudges you receive, and how to take small, intentional steps that bring your life back into alignment. Ashley also shares how your values and what fills your cup form the foundation of a heart-centered life — and how creating space is the doorway to what wants to come next.
If you’re feeling tired, overwhelmed, or disconnected, this episode is a gentle reminder that you don’t need to push your way into clarity — you can listen your way there.

In this episode of Soft, Seen & Sovereign, I sit down with Kaysha van der Heyden of Branding by Kaysha for a deeply honest conversation about what it really means to be visible in a creative life — without losing yourself in the process.
To live with intention, for me, means listening to the quiet signals. The subtle yes in your body. The gentle no you keep ignoring. The inner knowing that doesn’t always make sense, but never leads you astray. This conversation is an invitation into that kind of listening — especially when your creativity, your body, and your livelihood are all intertwined.
Kaysha and I talk about what it’s like to build a personal brand while staying soft, grounded, and true. We explore body image, being seen online, and the tender dance of sharing your work and your face with the world — especially when doubt, comparison, or old stories try to keep you small.
I also share about one of the most intentional decisions I’ve ever made in my business: letting go of my wedding and family photography work to fully step into personal brand photography. It was scary. It was a financial leap. And it was one of the most aligned choices I’ve ever made. Letting go created space for what actually fit.
We don’t skip over the messy middle either — those in-between seasons where things feel uncertain, capacity shifts, and creativity asks for room to breathe without needing to be productive. This episode is for the creatives, the entrepreneurs, the sensitive souls, and the women learning how to be visible without hardening.
You’re allowed to be soft.
You’re allowed to be seen.
And you’re allowed to remain sovereign in the way you show up.
About Kaysha :
Kaysha helps women overcome body image struggles and show up confidently in front of the camera.
Kaysha is a personal brand photographer who empowers women to embrace their bodies, express their authentic selves, and feel confident in every photo. She combines her expertise in photography with a deep understanding of self-image challenges, guiding women to step in front of the camera without fear and leave with images that reflect their true power and personality.
Her mission is simple: help women reclaim confidence, tell their story visually, and finally feel comfortable, and proud, being seen.

So many of us try to plan what’s next from a place of exhaustion—asking ourselves to move forward when our cups are already empty.
In this episode, I’m inviting you to pause.
To honor the season you’re actually in, rather than the one you think you should be in.
We explore what it means to practice intentional living when energy feels low, clarity feels distant, or life has been asking more of you than you’ve had to give. Instead of pushing or fixing, this conversation offers a gentler approach—one rooted in honesty, self-trust, and care.
Inside the episode, I share:
We also explore what it means to choose support before burnout—creating space to be held, nourished, and witnessed as you are. This understanding is what inspired the Spring Intentional Living Weekend Immersion, a gentle Friday–Sunday gathering in nature designed to support refilling your cup and planning forward with care.
Whether you’re feeling tired, reflective, or simply craving a slower, more intentional way of living, this episode is an invitation to soften, listen, and trust yourself.
Nothing is asking to be rushed.
Least of all you.

Life moves in seasons—times of planting, blooming, and rain. Each stage carries its own lessons and its own beauty.
In this episode, I sit down with Isabelle de Cuba of The Mindful Journal to reflect on what it means to trust your journey—to honor the seeds you’ve planted, to hold the vision you’ve asked for, and to move forward even when fear shows up.
Living intentionally isn’t about perfection or certainty. It’s about pausing, noticing, and asking yourself: “Does this feel aligned?” It’s moving with purpose and awareness, recognizing resistance as it arises, and choosing faith over fear.
Join us as we explore how to cultivate quiet trust, deep inner knowing, and peace in every stage of your life.

What if the new year wasn’t something you had to rush into—but something you were invited to arrive in?
In this episode of Living an Intentional Life, we slow things down and gently step into the threshold between what has been and what’s becoming. I’m sharing reflections from my own end-of-year ritual—rooted in presence, embodiment, and deep listening—and inviting you to consider a different way of beginning again.
Together, we’ll explore what it means to create a heart-centered foundation for the year ahead—one that isn’t built on pressure, productivity, or becoming someone new, but on honoring who you already are. I’ll guide you through reflective questions, simple grounding practices, and intentional pauses you can weave into your very real life as you close one chapter and open another.
This episode is for you if you’re craving:
✨ A softer, more intentional way to begin the year
✨ Space to reflect without judgment or urgency
✨ Practices that help you root into how you want to feel, not just what you want to do
✨ Permission to move forward with clarity, embodiment, and trust
This isn’t about fixing or forcing—it’s about arriving.
Arriving in your body.
Arriving in your truth.
Arriving home to yourself before moving ahead.
Take a breath, get cozy, and meet me here 🤍

This is not just the final solo episode of 2025 — it’s a threshold.
In this deeply personal and heart-led episode of Living an Intentional Life, I take a moment to re-introduce myself — to you, to this community, and to the woman I’ve become after walking through one of the most transformative seasons of my life.
As this podcast marks three years since its ignition, I reflect on who I was when it began, the dreams I carried, the identity I was reaching for, and the version of success I once believed I needed to become. From ambition and visibility to courage and expansion, I share the honest evolution of how my relationship with purpose, identity, and intentional living has shifted — and deepened.
What follows is a raw and grounded reflection on the season when everything appeared to be “working”… and the long, slow unraveling that came after. Financial stress, grief, loss, betrayal, identity collapse, fertility heartbreak, and learning how to keep showing up as a mother while my world was breaking open — this episode holds space for the crumbling that so many of us experience but rarely name.
And yet — this is not a story of defeat.
It’s a story of remembrance.
Through awareness, intentionality, and a return to presence, I share how the dismantling brought me back to the bones of myself — stripping away who I thought I needed to be and inviting me to rebuild from truth, embodiment, and self-trust.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
This episode is an invitation — to slow down, to listen inward, to honor who you’ve been, and to meet who you are now with compassion and curiosity.
If you’ve changed this year…
If you’ve felt the unraveling before the rooting…
If you’re ready to choose yourself again — gently, intentionally, and without apology —
this episode is for you.
Always choose you.
Never give up on yourself.
You are the most important piece of art you will ever create.
✨ From my heart to yours — welcome home.

On this episode of the Living an Intentional Life Podcast, I sit down with Crissy Medina of Medina Fine Pearls for a heartfelt conversation about transforming shame into strength, wisdom, and beauty. Together, we explore how the experiences that weigh us down can also become the source of our most profound growth — when approached with intentionality, self-compassion, and reflection.
We dive into:
This episode is for anyone ready to release the weight of shame, embrace their authentic story, and cultivate a life of clarity, intention, and empowered beauty.
About Crissy :
I’m Crissy Medina—teacher, traveler, sound therapist, proud mother, and founder of Medina Fine Pearls. My love for pearls began while living by the ocean on Boracay Island, where I became fascinated with how these living organisms transform a tiny irritant into something luminous, imperfect, and uniquely valuable. That same philosophy guides both my life and my brand: just as a pearl forms layer by delicate layer, our challenges and experiences shape us into who we are—resilient, radiant, and truly one of a kind.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a deeply personal story — my story — and the thread that has carried me through every chapter of my life: intentional living.
From studying Africana Studies in college…
to leaving a stable career at PBS to teach English in Tanzania…
to meeting my husband, navigating 3.5 years of long-distance, building a life across continents, and eventually rooting in the mountains…
to starting and expanding my business into photography, coaching, podcasting, retreats, writing, and creating tools for intentional living…
Every shift, every leap, every “yes” came from listening to the quiet voice within — the one that whispers:
Go here. Do this. Trust this.
And that’s the heart of today’s conversation.
Because intentional living isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence, courage, alignment, and trusting the wisdom that rises from within.
In this episode, we dive into:
✨ The Practice:
How intentional living shows up in the small, sacred moments — morning cacao, opening your planner with purpose, setting an intention before the day begins, and creating margin for stillness and gratitude.
✨ The Becoming:
How intentionality has carried me through profound growth, trauma, healing, and reinvention — and how doing “the work” helped me build a life aligned with my values and truth.
✨ The Expansion:
The five biggest benefits of intentional living, especially for the multi-passionate, multi-faceted soul:
As we close, I invite you to reflect on one question:
What would shift if you created just a little more space to hear that inner voice — and trusted it?
Because that voice has never led me wrong.
And I believe it won’t lead you wrong either.
Here’s to slowing down, tuning in, and choosing to live with intention — today and always. 🌿✨

To every single soul who has crossed paths with my work this year… thank you.
✨To my coaching clients—both 1:1 and inside The Collective—thank you for trusting me with your hearts, your growth, your expansion, and the parts of yourself you’re still learning to love. Holding space for your evolutions is one of the greatest honors of my life.
🌱 To those who have sat with me in workshops, gatherings, and cacao ceremonies—thank you for your presence, your openness, your willingness to peel back the layers and meet yourselves more deeply.
🎧 To every listener of the Living an Intentional Life Podcast—thank you for tuning in, for sharing, for letting my voice accompany you through your days. Your energy, your messages, your reflections fuel this mission in ways I can hardly put into words.
📸 To my photography clients—thank you for inviting me into your most sacred, fleeting, extraordinary moments. Documenting your love, your families, your milestones fills me with so much gratitude and awe.
📝And to everyone who has purchased the Fall in Love With Yourself + Your Life: 2026 Planner—thank you for believing in this creation, in intentional living, and in your own transformation. Knowing these pages will hold your dreams, your reflections, and your daily life is an indescribable honor.
Every one of you—whether we’ve worked together deeply or you’ve simply found a piece of inspiration in my world—has helped shape this season of my life and business in the most meaningful ways.
I am humbled.
I am grateful.
And I am endlessly inspired by you.
Here’s to the magic we’ve created together…
and to everything still unfolding. 🤍✨
With so much love,
Ashley

In this episode of the Living an Intentional Life Podcast, we’re joined by the wise and grounded Dr. Gabrielle Jones for a conversation about one of the most overlooked parts of intentional living: the art of moving slow so you can eventually move fast.
We talk about the deep inner work: checking in with your why, cultivating patience, honoring the pull to pause, and making decisions with God at the center—even when it feels uncomfortable, unfamiliar, or downright challenging.
Dr. Jones shares how slowing down has shaped her path, and I reflect on how choosing intentionality (over urgency) is helping me stay aligned with the right next steps. Because the truth is: the slow season is not a setback… it’s strategy. It’s strengthening. It’s God-ordained preparation.
If you’re craving clarity, or learning to trust the pace of your life, this episode will meet you right where you are.
Tune in for an honest, faith-rooted conversation that reminds you: slow doesn’t mean stuck. Slow means you’re building something strong enough to carry you—quickly and confidently—when it’s time to move.

Tune into this weeks episode of "Living an Intentional Life Podcast" as I deep dive into "Intentionality in the Rest of 2025 — How to Holistically Support Yourself (+ Others)!"
As we move into the final stretch of the year, this episode is your invitation to pause, breathe, and come home to yourself. With less than two months left in 2025, it’s time to reflect, realign, and move with intention — not urgency.
This is a grounding conversation about what it means to live intentionally through this season of transition. Together, you’ll explore:
🌿 How to check in with yourself — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually
🌙 The natural rhythm of this season and what it’s asking of you
💫 Aligning your actions and choices with your deepest values
💖 Honoring how far you’ve come — and who you’ve become
☀️ Supporting yourself (and others) from a place of overflow, not depletion
This episode is a gentle reminder that intentional living isn’t about doing more — it’s about being more present in what you do. As the year winds down, may you find clarity, softness, and gratitude in the quiet, intentional spaces in between.

In this week’s episode of Living an Intentional Life Podcast, we’re exploring what it truly means to hold yourself accountable — not from a place of pressure or perfection, but from awareness, reflection, and self-love.
Together, we’ll root into reflection questions to help you understand where you are right now, clarify what season of life you’re in, and identify what you’re being called to be held accountable for — and why.
I’ll share how I personally use my “Fall in Love with Yourself + Your Life: 2026 Planner” to track habits, set intentions, and stay connected to my “why,” plus simple daily + weekly reflection prompts to guide your own accountability practice.
We’ll also talk about the power of your daily bookends — how you start and end your day — to stay rooted in your intentions and aligned with your truth.
✨ Accountability is love in action. It’s not about control, it’s about commitment — commitment to your heart, your growth, and the life you’re here to live with purpose and presence.

Tune into this week's episode of "Living an Intentional Life Podcast" as I had the most beautiful honor of sitting in person with my dear friend and guest, Bianca Whaley as she shares all about "permission to be who you KNOW you are!"
About Bianca :
As a reiki master, certified astrologer and yoga guide, I’ve spent the last 10 years embodying and integrating tools that help people feel more in touch with their inner selves.
I ground all of my offerings and practices in the divine feminine, meaning I use my intuition as a guide and create space for people to just be and receive. I find this important in a world that tells us we need to constantly be doing. We receive the most when we are still and my intention is to help people slow down.
I started teaching yoga in 2014, I’ve been attuned to reiki since 2016, and obtained my master reiki certification in 2022. I got certified in astrology from Rising Woman in the Summer of 2024. And, in the midst of all of that, I received my most sacred role of all, being a mother to my two beautiful boys, Zephyr and Ramses. I’ve had my husband by my side since I was 16 years old and he is truly the reason I am able to do the work that I do. I love you Tristen.
I am devoted to helping people see their magic and embody their wisdom. I know all the answers we seek are within; our body holds endless insights. I create the space for people to remember this.

Tune into this week episode of "Living an Intentional Life Podcast" as its a REAIR from BEING A GUEST ON THE SECRETS OF A SUPERMOM SHOW with the most beautiful host Lori!
She shares, “This episode is one of those conversations that just hits different. I’m joined by the incredible Ashley Strong Smith—host of Living an Intentional Life, former award-winning photographer, mama, fire wife, and a woman who has completely redefined what it means to live fully and intentionally.
Ashley shares how a single question—”Are you just existing or are you fully living?”—changed the entire trajectory of her life. And friend, if you’ve ever looked around and thought, “My life looks great… but why does it still feel off?”—this episode is for you.
Let’s talk about the quiet dissatisfaction that ambitious women often feel:
✨You’ve built the career you dreamed of
✨You’ve got the beautiful family
✨You’ve checked all the boxes…
…but something’s still missing.
In this episode, Ashley and I talk about what it really means to live with intention, how to get honest about what you really want (even if it’s different from what you wanted five years ago), and how to start making small changes today that lead to a life you’re in love with—not just surviving through.
“Your life is not a to-do list. It’s an experiment.” – Ashley Strong Smith
One of my favorite things Ashley says? That your life is an experiment—and that means you can’t fail. If something doesn’t work, you tweak it. If a change doesn’t stick, you learn and try again. Whether it’s reclaiming 10 minutes for quiet coffee or making room for an after-dinner art table, small shifts lead to massive impact.
So if you’ve ever felt like:
✨You’re living the life you thought you wanted… but it doesn’t feel aligned anymore
✨You’re constantly chasing the next thing on your to-do list
✨You’ve lost connection to what you want and who you are…
This conversation will help you pause, reassess, and get clear on what matters most.

Inspired by life as of late and getting REAL REAL WITH WHATS REAL in my life, this week on my podcast, “Living an Intentioanl Life Podcast,” I really deep dive into “Get real real with what's real : finding the balance between honoring the season you’re in and softening the planning of the next!"
What's shared? Well, let me take you back… last year wrecked me. I did absolutely everything I could to be the healthiest, happiest, most present + intentional expression through such deep trauma, grief + pain and it worked. It held me up, it kept me feeling rooted, whole + complete, until it didn’t. Until I realized that my feet, although planted on this earth, are so wobbly. My soul is tired. My breath is shallow. And my heart is yearning for deep, raw, old-school, authentic connection. That I am being called to do life, live within this business + share myself in a way that's different from what has been. Hear me when I say, I have NO idea what this is going to unfold as, I am just following the nudges + listening to the voices.
As a result, for the first time in far too long, I have the capacity to fully support myself, my loved ones and my community in a way that I had been missing for far too long. There is a peace, a presence, a deep connectivity that is unfolding with my clients and community that is truly what I call raw beauty. This deep desire to protect my little family, peace and honor the contentment that is present. A season and space I am so deeply grateful to be in.
So I ask you, how can you get REAL REAL WITH WHATS REAL?
Throughout the episode not only do I share all that I've moved through to get real real with what's real in my life, but I also share …

Oh my gratitude! I had the most beautiful honor of sitting in conversation with and being interviewed by Shilpa Lewis for her podcast, “Omni Mindfulness Podcast!”
Our conversation so organically talked about the why behind moving from courage to intention, how to find flow with life, rooting into intentionality and the power behind creating a “heart-centered foundation!”
She shared so beautifully, “Ashley's journey of embracing life's seasons with courage and flow is a testament to the power of intentional living. She shares her story of transformation— from exploring the world (living in 4 countries, visiting another 10, and an additional 15 States) and humanity through the lens of her photography, exploring her inner world through yoga training, to becoming a courage coach and intentional living advocate as well as becoming the host of the wildly successful podcast Living an Intentional Life. Her work revolves around creating space for women to explore their passions and live authentically. In this episode, Ashley reminds us that the small, intentional actions we take daily can guide us toward a life that feels both purposeful and aligned with our true selves.”

Tune into this week's episode of "Living an Intentioanl Life Podcast" for A Ball of Yarn with Jennifer Lyons, Life Coach for the Sober Curious!
Our conversation moves through all things being "sober curious," how to stay curious in life in general, the power behind solicitude and really understanding one's WHY and how to stay inquisitive with all that life is!
About Jennifer :
My parents were sixteen when I was born. Having grown up in a small midwestern town, the culture of my upbringing was more often than not – centered around alcohol. It’s just what people did to ‘have fun.’ So. I lived & I learned…
Throughout my triple decades of drinking, I kept it together. Most of the time. Life of the party. Played sports. Masters Degree at age twenty-two. California Credentialed Teacher. Entrepreneur. Obtained three more certifications related to psychology & helping others. Raised two healthy kids. Crafty DIY’er. Tidy house. Zero debt. Loyal Friend.
But, through all of it, I leaned a little too hard on alcohol as my escape. I had my share of regrets & I can’t count the times I said, “I’m never drinking again.” As I got older, I noticed my hangovers became worse. Alcohol had a grip on my mind & my body. But, I still made excuses to justify my drinking.
One glass of wine became a bottle of wine. I set rules. I broke them. After getting a phone call, out of the blue, that a good friend of mine died in her sleep from alcoholism; I was done. I declared that phone call as my ‘rock bottom.’ In her honor, I have not had one drop of alcohol since. I got a grip on my drinking & made my physical, mental and spiritual health my top priority.

We deep dive into Shamanic healing + polarity therapy, balancing or polarities, recognizing what stops us to clear the path, the intentionality in how you wake each morning + go to bed each evening, pushing past your ceiling and oh so much more!
About Andrea :
Andrea is a body-centered practitioner and instructor with unique 20+ year global mosaic of study and practice in the healing arts.
Andrea uses several energy modalities, bodywork techniques, and an eclectic array of therapeutic body/mind tools to bring about balance and lasting change.
Andrea uses these skills with humor and compassion to influence her bodywork, phrases, and timing. You will notice subtle or dramatic shifts in a way that allows your nervous system to rebalance and reset, releasing trauma patterns and allowing you to become more in touch with yourself and your ability to bring about balance in your life and body. She teaches the art of being present to empower you to create ease and joy in everyday living.
From the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual, Andrea utilizes deep listening skills with her hands, heart, and ears to read and interpret body language and verbal cues as well as your energy/auric field to recognize trauma patterns and physical imbalances that affect your health and well-being.
While Andrea’s credentials include practicing and teaching several types of massage, her work goes much deeper on all levels – emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological and can be conducted with clothes on. The session starts with a conversation to get to the heart of the cause of the imbalance instead of focusing on the symptom. The therapeutic dialogue continues on the table as you experience the opening of energetic pathways that allow the body and mind to heal, as well as tools such as dietary suggestions, exercise protocols, and other tools to empower you to take charge of your life and body.

This week's episode of "Living an Intentional Life Podcast" is just a short update into the reality that our mountain community, the San Bernardino Mountains are facing right now through the "State of Emergency" that was declared due to the "Line Fire" that ignited on Friday, September and 6th and has grown to over 26,000 acres.
Although outside of this reality, I know life is resuming as "normal", yet - it feels deeply in alignment to honor the space and time of our current reality. This is the 2nd state of emergency we've been within the past two years.
Our Running Springs home has been evacuated since Saturday + we are safe in our home in Lake Arrowhead.
A massive thank you to all the incredible first responders who have tirelessly been working on containing the fire + savings the homes + businesses + communities we call ours.
And a huge thank you for the outpouring of love, support, encouragement + checking-in. It is so deeply felt + received.
See you next week for a proper episode!

Living an Intentional Life Podcast INTRO | Episode 85
Welcome to Living an Intentional Life Podcast (formerly The Living Courageously Podcast)!
This is a space where in community, we find belonging. A place where you are deeply seen and heard. Ultimately connecting through the lens of intention. Creating intentional, incremental daily actions that enable us to root into who we are, expand deeper into our purpose, align with our truths and live out our wildest dreams.
I’m your host, Ashley Strong Smith. In this lifetime, I’ve been honored to continuously live a life that is far beyond my dreams. Taking incremental intentional action every single day, that has compounded to major change and transformation.
Each week, I share tangible tools, tips and resources to invite into your own life. Alongside meeting + getting a peek inside some of the most inspiring women intentionally living their truths!
I truly believe that we are capable of bringing any dream into reality, of blooming the most vibrant lotus flower from trudging through thick mud, of honoring our deepest truth and being in full expression in this human experience as after all, we are limitless!
_________
After two years of holding space + co-creating as a Courage Coach, being the host of The Living Courageously Podcast + writing my first book, although deeply enamored by courage + living courageously, it has started to feel out of alignment with the foundational truth in truly understanding who we are, what we want and how we want to live out our time here in the human experience is rooted in intentionally.
Courage + living courageously has started to feel like the sensation at the top of our flowers + trees where we’re able to look around with a 360 degree view of all that we’ve done to get to the point, all the ways we’ve grown and relish in all that is around us.
The truth is, many of us (myself included) are in the foundational stages of nourishing and planting our flowers + trees let alone being able to climb them. We are in the day-to-day, the germinating, the planting, rooting in awareness and choosing incremental intentional action every single day that compounds to major change and transformation.
One of my gifts and purposes in this lifetime, is to be a mirror for, an inspiration to - that every single one of us women, have everything we already need within us. That we are truly capable of bringing any dream into reality, of blooming the most vibrant lotus flower from trudging through thick mud, of honoring our deepest truth + living in full expression as we are limitless!

As we move through this conversation, I share a few recent reflections of just coming out of messy middle season, transiting from Winter into Spring and honoring the closing of the first quarter of the year and moving into the second.
Inspired by spending the entire day doing an "Expansion Day," which is a day where I fully commit to working on myself as opposed to just moving through the to-do's of life, I recounted how crucial it is for me to reflect on where I've been and where I'm going. One thing that was very loud was that I use this tool, that of an Expansion Days to support myself through transitions and changing of seasons, specially from one quarter to the next.

Tune into this week's episode of The Living Courageously Podcast - Vulnerability and it's Key to Unlocking Courage Within with Ashley Bennett of Live Life Reiki Studio.
Join us for a conversation as Ashley shares her definition of courage as meaning deep vulnerability - being able to reveal our truth to ourselves and to others. She rawly shares how this translates into her world through a very honest reflection of reaching the deepest state of depression that she had experienced in her life to date last year, in 2023, due to a sequence of events.
All scenarios had aligned for her family to be present and she had a choice in that moment to continue to hide her truth, or to share it. She decided to allow her truth to be seen, opening her up to vulnerability. As she prepared to share my truth, in that moment she felt as though her whole world was going to end but it was this exact meeting point of fully giving up and fully leaning in.
Ashley truly believes that it was from the light of courage within her that the decision was to lean in. She shares how she moved through this, rituals that kept her grounded (even in the darkest + hardest) of moments and how you can support yourself in moving through similar seasons.
About Ashley :
Ashley is a Usui/Holy Fire III® Karuna Reiki® Master, Sound Healer, Cacao Guide, Sacred Ceremonialist and Retreat Facilitator. Since 2018, she has been in deep communion with Reiki, Sound, Cacao, Community and Ceremony to shed the layer of illusion - remembering and embodying the light and love within. All teaching her that the key to ALL that we seek lies through the portal of quite literally, our own heart. Not outside of us, but deep within. In her practice and service of Reiki training, sessions, special events, workshops and retreats, Ashley walks alongside you, hand in hand as you spiral open the Ever Unfolding Rose of your heart to live life as fully and abundantly as possible in your purpose. She sees you for the magnificent light that you are and is deeply honored to walk this path with you.

Tune into this week's episode - Freedom is in Harnessing Your Truth with Niccole Hendrickson, Co-Owner of KALO Fitness!
This is such a badass conversation around really harnessing your truth, horning your space and building a legacy.
About Niccole :
I'm a Southern California native raised by a badass father and amazing mother. The values instilled in me from birth set the stage for my evolution. My relentless drive for pushing myself started early in life. I believed I could do whatever I dreamt of if I was willing to put the work in, the sacrifice. Be disciplined when no one was watching, stay the course when I thought I was going nowhere, and most importantly ever waiver from my values. While I channeled my badassery early on in the weight room before it was cool for young women I paralleled this energy with my love for interior design, fashion, beauty, and all things gal pal. I longed for a community of women who truly leveled up and forced other women around her to be courageous and driven without cattiness or drama. I wanted to create a space for driven, muti-faceted, successful women to thrive! Through many years of building and doing I eventually found myself in a place where I pursued A friendship with my now business partner. The joke is- I courted her pretty hard 🤣 we put our ego’s aside and came together to co-create our brand KALO!

"Create the space and time to get clear! Then, once you’ve gotten clear about your heart centered foundation, start to take small actions every single day!
Pick one thing out of your values and let that be the focus for the week and next week one thing out of what you value about life and let that be the focus for a week and then another week and another week another week. Before you know it a month, two months, three months have gone by and you’ve tried on 12 different things from this heart centered foundation.
You’ve tried it on in your life and then you got to see what the feedback was, the result, how it really resonates with your being and then you sharpen that - you do more of the stuff that supports you and you let go of what no longer supports you.
Small action every single day compounds and leads to massive change and transformation.
Create the space and time to get clear and you’ll have a more tangible roadmap.
I've had some of the biggest epiphany's lately because my whole business is built on this dream life and I am all about it. Where are you going? You need to know where you're going and what you're doing but if you are not present, if you are not intentional, and you do not create the space and time every single day to reconnect with your heart-centered foundation, to reconnect with the intention, to reconnect with all the reasons you want to get to there - you will never get there because the magic happens in the journey. My recommendation is to find the thing - the desire, the goal, the ambition, the fill in the blank that feels really scary AND exciting! I say scary and exciting because if it's only scary you're probably not going to do it. If it's only easy, then you're not choosing growth, evolution, courage.
So, find the thing that is the edge. You don't have to go way past it. Just right at the edge. What is it that is scary and exciting? That makes you have little butterflies in your stomach?

"#9 - And this one is really funny to say coming from my photography background and how big of a dream photos are to me. photos are so important to be able to communicate fleeting moments.
But, something that has been my deepest truth a lot lately - life really does feel so much better than a photo can even capture. And I LOVE photography - the power of it, its connection, communication and education that happens from it. And if you've seen my photography work - I play so much with lighting, emotion, chemistry and intimacy between my subjects, so there is a magic present in my photos.
And even that lately, the photos, couldn't do the feeling justice. For our Mother's Day hike, they were gorgeous and I was able to capture photos that were inspiring, but compared to what I was feeling in that moment, those photos could never describe the fullness.
There was such a peace, happiness, wholeness, nourishment and contentment that was present. That no photograph can convey. And that says a lot. Before I had the courage and confidence to share my voice, words, truth and who I am in this way, I used photographs to do so. I used my photos to tell the story. And there's been a really drastic shift over these past few years where my words, writing and how I show up for my community is telling the story...."

Now, with the shape the world’s is in, meditating helps you calm down and connect, which is good but it’s not necessarily what the universe needs. We need to come together with each other in a much bigger way than to just close your eyes by yourself. It’s not that it’s not useful, it’s just not the leading edge of where the universe is trying to bring us. There needs to be more cohesion, love and purity between us. "

"One of the things that I'm so big about and it's how I knew that this trip was for me when the opportunity was presented - is setting intentions. Just how I had set intentions for this year and it affirmed the intentions I had set.
When I was on that two hour plane ride - I was really intentional about what I did with that time. I spent time connection with my breath. I spent some time pulling from a deck I had gotten specifically for the trip. I spent some time really setting my intentions for the trip -
What do I want?

"You have the opportunity to plant the seed for someone else to witness their own dreams. We all have the ability to be the person to plant a seed for someone else to then nourish and harvest that very seed for their own reality.
As previously mentioned, in multiple phases of my life, there has been someone who has planted the seed and I got curious about it.
What happens if I nourish the soil?
What happens if I water it?
What happens if I give it more sun?
What happens if in this phase of life it needs more shade?
What happens if I clip its blossoms and give it to another being?
It creates this ripple effect! We all within us, have such a yearning, stirring and connecting to living life in the most profoundly beautiful, connected, deep way.
At least that's what I hope with you being in this space!"

"One of the themes for this week that has felt very in-tuned with life right now... I heard a quote the other day, 'It always seems impossible till it's done.'
That's really important to remember, that you are really capable of doing anything you set your mind. It's a matter of - 1. Understanding what your ultimate goal is and 2. Breaking it down into bit by bit pieces that are digestible. With that, 1. Where you're at currently and 2. Helping you get there by thinking and acting like the person you want to be.
Don't get overwhelmed with the bigger goal as much as you are paying attention to understanding you can do whatever you want to do, you just have to become that person through your daily actions."

“On the other side of FEAR is COURAGE. And to get there... you need to take ACTION. Courage and fear are one another's polar opposites. To find that coexistence, to be in that equilibrium, to be in the balanced state, you've got to create action. When you do, it's so freeing when you're on the other side."
Tune in Tuesday is here with Episode 27 👉🏼Transforming Fear into Courage through Action. This is an intimate and vulnerable deep dive into my life, with FOUR current examples of how I've moved from fear into courage through taking action.
The FOUR examples I share are :
1. Training for a half-marathon in the mountains during winter.
2. Preparing for getting another 2.5 feet of snow (after a storm of over 10).
3. My husband being in paramedic school.
4. Booking my ticket to Portugal with my college best friend.
In these examples is the structure I use to move through these very realities and all that goes into it - through both my heart and mind.

Sometimes that means facing and healing what stands in the way of your authentic self so that you can embody that. Truthfully, I don’t think everyone is up for that. So with that, it takes a lot of courage just to be your true self. Courage is an underlying force that moves us to act in alignment with ourselves, our values, our dreams, our goals. It’s the ability to see and step beyond the should’s, the judgements, the expectations that have been placed on you that you’ve internalized - to step beyond your survival self and be in alignment with your true present self… "
