In Chapter Nine of "Saving Rene'," preparations for an Italian dinner with Renee and her mother are underway. As the crew chiefs arrive at the new apartment, the protagonist emphasizes the rules and boundaries, making it clear that it is not a social gathering spot. The protagonist reflects on his changed mindset after the divorce, focusing on being a responsible father and developing a deep connection with Bob's daughter, Sandra. Additionally, he discusses helping his first daughter, offering her a job and assisting her in finding a car and a place to live. Amidst these events, Renee keeps calling and offering her assistance, while the protagonist keeps his distance due to the dangerous connections Renee has. The events that unfolded mark only the beginning of a larger, more complex story that will test their resolve and the bond they've formed. Nonetheless, their successful rescue of Renee is a victory to be celebrated.
