This podcast is about growing up both queer and POC because in many cases, these identities intertwine with one another. Growing up, a lot of POCs are taught about ways in which they are supposed to act and what their interest are supposed to be. This causes some to feel weird for stepping outside of what is considered. However, here, this is not the case. We welcome all no matter sexual and/or gender identity or what your interest may be!
On this episode of Cultural Canvas, I bring on a friend and local musician Roc along with my friend Brian to discuss growing up both Black and queer in New Jersey. Here we discuss our upbringing in Catholic schools, our experience with homophobia in our own community, a lil bit of Pokemon talk, and much more!
