Season 3 is comprised of three themes. Each theme begins with an essay by Shawna. The first is about history and context; the second is about getting out of our own way, and the final theme will be about inspiration and disruption.

Tex McLeod is one of North America’s leading presenters and trainers on energy, housing, and indoor air quality. Shawna and Tex dive into the first theme of “How Did We Get Here? The historical context of cold climate building science and how we lean on this to create high performance housing in Canada.”

Season Three of This Must Be the Place kicks off with a bang. The season will be broken into three themes, with six episodes per theme, and the first episode of each theme will start with an essay by Shawna and a guest to add their perspective on the theme. Of course there’s going to be overlap because yes, always, unavoidably, everything’s connected and all of the guests pull the threads together in different ways. The first theme of Season Three is how we got here, laying out some history and context for building science and high performance housing in Canada. The second theme revolves around what we need to do to get out of our own way, because, well, we’re kind of stuck and we need to change fast, and the third theme is focused on inspiration, the disruptors, the people who are bringing change, and the future of building science and the residential construction industry.

Now the founder and owner of Revival Home Design, she helps her clients see the vision of their dream home and then makes it happen.

In this episode:
