Welcome to Happily Ever After… the podcast about the world of divorce, uncoupling and making peace with yourself after heartbreak.
Each episode covers a different but often challenging topic like addiction, domestic abuse, and mental health matters. If that sounds grim, it’s really quite the opposite.
The focus is ALWAYS on the positive, as my guests and I explore to take control of your life after trauma.
My ex-husband is getting remarried today so I figured what a perfect time to talk about when they move on...
If you've ever felt blindsided, heartbroken, or totally unravelled after your ex found someone new — this one's for you.
In this deeply personal episode, I share:
This episode is a journey through the messy, beautiful, heartbreaking, empowering rollercoaster of healing — and a reminder that you can get to a place where your ex getting remarried doesn't derail you.

Do you ever feel like you're not enough? Not good enough ... lacking in some undefined way. Me too! It's very common.
Welcome to Happily Ever After, in this episode, I'm exploring the concept of 'Enough'.
For someone who never had enough alcohol... and now ZERO alcohol is enough. It's a weird concept for me and yet this feeling of 'Feeling Enough' lingers on.
I had a profound experience at the Rebecca Campbell live event at the weekend, which has helped me to reframe the whole thing. Have a listen. Does this resonate with you? Get in touch and let me know on instagram @hannahharveyuk or through my website hannahharvey.uk.

In this episode I share my thoughts on creating your support network. When we're in crisis—whether it's divorce, grief, anxiety, or panic—it can feel like we’re completely on our own, with no one to turn to.
In those moments, our brains convince us that we’re isolated, without a friend in the world. But the reality is, we aren’t. That’s why it’s so important to build our support network before crisis hits.
There’s so much more on this topic (because it's SO IMPORTANT) in my book, How to Divorce Sober. If you need more encouragement and permission to build your team, head there!
I also talk about my not-so-secret love of online courses and how they’ve become an essential part of my support system:
I also go for walks and chat with friends, but there’s something so comforting and familiar about learning from these people I’ve grown to love.

This week I have an extra special treat for you because I am chatting with Danielle Barbereau, who is a Divorce Coach and author of the book, After the Split.
I first met Danielle a year ago after she was recommended to me by my mediation solicitor, and she supported me through some of the hardest bits of my divorce, namely battling it out in court!
My solicitor had said, “ask Danielle for a compatibility call” and within about a minute I knew I had to work with her. She was so reassuring and instantly made me feel hope during a particularly traumatic time which is such an amazing skill to have.
Danielle is offering a brand new course 'Emerge and Recover' which starts on 21st November and is a live run-through as she will also be doing weekly Q&A's to support over Christmas (a pretty dreaded time for the newly divorcing and heartbroken!).
For more information on "Emerge and Recover from a painful breakup" click here.
Today I bring you a podcast that no one asked me for - my tips on travelling with kids! I’m no expert in travel. Or kids. Or anything really. But I’m bringing you my tips anyway as I have just got back from a holiday abroad with my kids. And it was a resounding success!
This week I want to talk about the Fairytale. You know the thing we thought we wanted and then maybe we got it, but is it all it's cracked up to be?
I called my podcast Happily Ever After because of this idea we may have when we’re younger: meeting the love of our lives, getting married, living happily ever after, etc.
And basically that bit hasn’t gone to plan for me, as I know it hasn’t for many of you.
Buuuuut, as I emerge from the otherside, I truly believe we can still have our happily ever after, it’s just maybe not the one you thought you wanted.
I mention a blog post I did about the first time Cath helped me declutter which you can find here: Decluttering
On this week show, I talk to Sean Alexander, bestselling-Author of Sober on a Drunk Planet.
This week is my 5 year anniversary of quitting drinking, so this was partly an episode to celebrate that (best thing I ever did!) and partly because the damaging effects alcohol (and other addictions) can have on relationships.
As a former addict turned coach, Sean shares some of his thoughts on alcohol and drugs, co-dependancy, enabling and other factors that can be so detrimental to relationships.
He also shares his tips for the sober-curious and sober dating (that's where I'm at!). Thanks Sean!
You can find Sean on instagram, @soberonadrunkplanet, and you can grab Sean's free e-book, 7 sober secrets you can't ignore, here.
On this week's episode, I'm answering some more of your questions, but these ones have a slightly different theme that I like to call 'dirty secrets'. This doesn't mean that we're talking about things that I think we should keep a secret, in fact it's the opposite! It's things that we might feel embarrassed to talk about or ashamed to admit.
Here's the Tina Turner documentary I refer to. Here's Big Little Lies - the book and the tv show.
We cover some pretty tough stuff in this episode so I've put some links for helpful services below and you can always reach out to me here or on instagram @hharveywrites.
Also a reminder that I'm not a therapist or mental health professional, I'm just a person who's been through divorce and I'm sharing my thoughts and advice with you.

Today I'm interviewing Lea Eccleston, a lawyer turned speaker and writer, and a huge advocate for women. She has been through a particularly traumatic divorce and has such a unique take on what it is to go through something like this but come out the other side stronger.
In this episode, we talk about victim mode. What it is and, crucially, what it is not. She shares her empowering tips on how you can both own your story but be free to move on and have the life of your dreams.
Not one to miss! You can contact Lea through her instagram The Life She Built.
This week I’m doing it a little bit differently because I’ve been getting questions and I wanted to start answering them.
I’ve got my version of divorce but obviously everybody else has so many different ways to go through it and different feelings that come up.
Here we cover everything from recovery time, when it's time to start dating again, regret, finances and even sex.
If you’ve got any questions that you’d like me to answer, you can just let me know via instagram @hharveywrites.
I have got a very special episode for you today because I'm talking to one of my very best friends, Cath, who supported me every step of the way through my divorce.
We've known each other a very long time and luckily for me, Cath is a professional declutterer at Clear the Clutter!
Two years ago, mere months after leaving my ex, Cath spent a week helping me prepare our family home for sale. This week was the culmination of years of renovation, building work, having babies in the middle of it all... and the second the house was finished was when the estate agents arrived to take photos. I would never use this finished house!
My memory of this period is very patchy but I do remember leaning heavily on Cath to get through it! It was fascinating to hear Cath's take on this time and reminded me how lucky I was to have her.
Cath also shares her tips for decluttering after a heartbreak (whether divorce or death). I really hope you enjoy it.
This week I am talking about single motherhood as I often get asked how I cope with the kids now that I’m a single mum.
It’s a funny one because I know plenty of mums who have to cope single handedly with children because their other halves are away working. And that is TOUGH!!
In this episode I talk through what I do with my spare time but also how I cope when it's just me and managing the chaos of children and heartbreak.
I share a letter from my mum that made all the difference to how I approached single motherhood. It still chokes me up and whether you're single or not, please accept this gift from my mum to all you parents, with whatever you are navigating.
Hello and welcome to Happily Ever After. This is a podcast where we explore all things Divorce and heartache but leave with hope. I am your host Hannah Harvey, and today we are talking about ways you can boost your mood during your divorce.
I can tell you from experience that, yes getting divorced is really tough, but in the words of Glennen Doyle, we can do hard things. We are really strong and if we are really kind to ourselves, we don’t have to just survive this.
I went from barely surviving my divorce to actually thriving and here are a few things you can put into place NOW to make sure that you are really protecting and caring for yourself during this challenging transition period.
Have a listen and let me know what you think on insta: @hharveywrites or email hannah@hannahharvey.uk
Hello and welcome to Happily Ever After, the podcast where we explore all things Divorce and heartache but leave with hope. I am your host Hannah Harvey, and today we are talking about failure. YUK!!!
Drew Barrymore quote
“When you break up with somebody, you’re like, ‘Yeah, that didn’t work.’ When you get divorced, you’re like, ‘I’m the biggest failure. This is the biggest failure.’ It’s so shameful and hard to actually go through that, even privately.”
This is so true. You really do feel like a failure BUT a huge thing I’ve learnt through my divorce is how to reframe failure. The process of divorce has shone a FLOODLIGHT onto all my insecurities and failure was a biggy.
I’ve had several failed businesses, a failed career in civil engineering, a failed marriage, etc. I’m a HUGE failure.
Have a listen to how I reframed this for the positive and please get in touch with your failures! Hannah@hannahharvey.uk or @hharveywrites on instagram and facebook.
Today we are talking about Building Your Team.
Have you ever seen Jim’ll fix it and the clip of the Scout’s who wanted to go on a rollercoaster with burgers and drinks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfgqsenuwpo
This is what divorce was like for me... One of my biggest achievements during my divorce was to build a team so I could metaphorically give them my bottle of milk and burger to hold.
You can go around the rollercoaster holding your burger and your bottle of milk, but I wouldn’t recommend it. And, if you needed further convincing, did you know asking for help is an act of bravery? Listen on to find out more!

Hello and welcome to Happily Ever After, the podcast where we explore all things Divorce and heartache but leave with hope. I am your host Hannah Harvey, and today we are talking about How to thrive during your divorce.
People often ask me what I think the magic steps are to thrive during this shitty time and it’s really hard to define as each person is different but I’ve narrowed it down to the steps I've shared in this episode. Listen on!
FYI I quote from the book Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid a couple of times and highly recommend it if you're off on hols and need a good beach read!
Hello and welcome to Happily Ever After, the podcast where we explore all things Divorce and heartache but leave with hope.
I am your host Hannah Harvey, and today we are talking about grief.
Obviously, no one has died in this instance but your relationship has, and even if it was a tumultuous one, you can still be sad that it’s gone. And grieve for it.
Jessica Simpson “It was like a death in the family: You go through the mourning stage, then the rebellion, and then all of a sudden you have to find life by yourself.”
I can definitely relate to this - there were some interesting decisions made during the rebellion stage and frankly the mourning stage still shows up at times. Each time you reach a new milestone, or you deal with something in your new life that you haven't before, it can just rear its ugly head.
We may always mourn the end of our marriages, remembering the happier times and some good things came from it.
But that's OK. When you look at the breakdown of a relationship from the perspective of grief and the stages of grief, it seems it’s essential that you go through the motions and feel sad when these feelings pop up and you acknowledge them and give them the space they need.
In this episode we explore these feelings in relation to the stages of grief from Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's book On Death and Dying.
In this episode I also mention my therapists - Blue Talking Therapies - who have helped me so much. You can find them here and tell them I sent you! https://bluetalkingtherapies.co.uk
Hello and welcome to Happily Ever After, the podcast where we explore all things Divorce and heartache but leave with hope. I am your host Hannah Harvey, and today we are talking about overwhelm.
The average divorce takes 2 years. I know. WTF.
It seems incredibly daunting when you’re at the start. Navigating your emotions (not to mention your ex’s, your family’s and children’s emotions) alongside the practicalities of getting divorced, can feel like it requires a reservoir of resilience, whilst also feeling like you might die thanks to the body's response to fear and overwhelm.
But I’m here to tell you that there is hope. If I can do it, so can you. And I wanted to share something today that really helped me reframe my own abilities and how I responded to overwhelm.
Hello and welcome to Happily Ever After, the podcast where we explore all things Divorce and heartache but leave with hope. I am your host Hannah Harvey, and today we are talking about when should you leave?
You may have listened to last week’s episode out of interest because you are still in your relationship and want to know what you would do next if you were to leave. Perhaps you’re fantasising about leaving but don’t know when is the right time. So… when should you leave?
Dude, I do NOT know, but listen on for what I was doing the month before I left and how I felt it really helped!
Hello and welcome to Happily Ever After, the podcast where we explore all things Divorce and heartache but leave with hope.
I am your host Hannah Harvey, and in this episode I’m going to be talking about that bit straight after a break up. The aftermath of whatever event it was for you that has caused the irreparable breakdown of your marriage.
This period can be exceptionally traumatic for many and I certainly only remember it in chunks!
You can see a transcript of the episode below and don’t forget to review and subscribe. Please and thank you!
Also if you have a friend who might enjoy, please do recommend they listen too!
You can get in touch either through instagram @hharveywrites or via my website hannahharvey.uk.

Welcome to Happily Ever After… the podcast that talks about the mysterious world of divorce and uncoupling, and living Happily Ever After heartbreak. I am your host Hannah Harvey. I am a writer and an award winning blogger. I am also the founder of the divorce retreat, Heartache Hall, which you can find at Heartachehall.com.
It would make my day if you could subscribe and leave a review so more people can find this podcast! I would also love to hear from you, so contact me through instagram @HHarveywrites with your stories of divorce and heartbreak, any thoughts you have on the episode or even questions you may want answering.
I have always wanted to do a podcast. For years, back in my blogging hayday I was always banging on about it - the podcasts I loved, and how much I’d love to do my own. But I was never brave enough.
Well, now I guess am. And I also have something to talk about too because the last couple of years I have been going through a divorce, has been a real eye-opener and I want to share what I’ve learnt about that and about myself.
To survive my divorce, I threw everything at it. I spent a lot of money on expert advice, woowoo stuff, online courses, books and learned a lot of lessons the hard way. And, I’ll be sharing that in this podcast.
I had to be really brave, which was tough but it’s muscle you’ve got to keep working so here I am. I am hoping that in doing this thing that really scares me, this podcast, that it might give someone else the courage to go for what they want out of life too.
So, this podcast is a collection of bite sized episodes on a theme, pretty much always book ended by a celebrity quote on divorce or life after love. I really hope you enjoy it and as I said, you can get in touch on instagram @hharveywrites or through my website hannahharvey.uk.
