He got on a bus with nothing left—and no idea where his life was headed.
Casey Ragan’s story is one of loss, wandering, and ultimately, redemption. At just 18 years old, a diagnosis of Stargardt disease altered the course of his life, closing the door on his plans to enlist in the Marines and sending him into a season of deep struggle. In the years that followed, Casey turned to drugs and alcohol in an attempt to numb the pain, navigating a failed marriage and fighting to stay afloat.
Eventually, with little left to hold onto, Casey left everything familiar behind and boarded a bus to Cincinnati, stepping into the unknown. For three years, he lived in anonymity, far removed from the life he once knew. But his story did not end there.
In this powerful conversation, Casey shares how he was not only reunited with his parents and his child, but also restored in ways he never imagined. Now remarried and serving in ministry, his life reflects healing, purpose, and a deep, unwavering faith. At 18, Matthew experienced sudden blindness that led to the discovery of a brain aneurysm and stroke. With no safe surgical option, he was left in uncertainty—until a rupture weeks later left him in a coma and facing a long road of recovery.
But in the middle of it all, something unexpected happened.
During his healing process, Matthew encountered Jesus in a profound way—and what followed was both spiritual and physical transformation. Medical scans later showed the aneurysms had disappeared without explanation.
Matthew now shares his story to bring hope to others walking through the unknown, reminding us that even in the hardest moments, healing is still possible.

In this episode, I introduce Internal Family Systems (IFS) and share some of what I’ve discovered so far. It’s not a deep dive, just an honest reflection on how this framework has started to give language to things I’ve felt for a long time but couldn’t quite explain.
It’s helped me begin to understand the different parts of myself and why they show up the way they do.
When Jesus is invited into this process, everything changes. Instead of trying to fix ourselves, His presence meets us with compassion, truth, and peace—right in the middle of it all.
This episode is simply an invitation to explore, to grow in awareness, and to see that God is not distant from your inner world—He’s present in it.

In 2021 after giving birth to her son, author Rachel Dawn got news through a timed email that her brother was missing. A nationwide search located her brother deceased on the floor of the Grand Canyon from suicide. This led to a continuing journey of grief and grappling with unanswered questions.
Those questions led to a deeply personal journal reflections that echo raw honesty and vulnerability. Since that fateful period in 2021 she has drawn upon the deep well of joy and grief and how the two can coexist.

When something really hits us wrong and we struggle with a desire to blow up or obsessive over how unfair something is, this might be a good time to stop and ask why. Ask, "What does this situation remind me of in my life?" and let the God show you the way. You may have to ask multiple times until you can find the chain of where it all began.
