What happens when leaders stop asking, “Which model wins?” and start asking, “How do multiple models work together for Kingdom impact?” In this episode, Gary Rucci unpacks the leadership shifts behind Australia’s “blended ecology” — from rows to tables, from platform to people, from building church to making disciples who make disciples. We explore hybrid expressions (large gatherings and table church), the rise of microchurches, why unity across tribes matters, and how denominations are beginning to validate smaller, contextual communities without losing necessary governance and care. Gary shares grassroots stories (running clubs, factory lunchrooms, beach gatherings), a pro-Kingdom posture that refuses “mega vs. micro,” and a practical vision for churches holding multiple models in one movement so more Australians hear the gospel. If you lead a church, a network, or a denomination, this conversation will help you rethink success and re-tool your ecosystem for multiplication.

In this candid conversation, James Murray names three missteps from his planting journey—and the shifts they sparked. He unpacks starting against something instead of for a Spirit-given burden, leading from comparison rather than calling, and copy-pasting models instead of discerning a context-shaped approach. James then shares the course corrections: becoming burden-driven, reframing Sundays for edification that fuels everyday mission, and adopting a healthier scorecard—baptism, obedience, endurance, and multiplication over mere attendance. It’s a practical, pastoral guide for leaders who want depth without losing mission—and who are ready to lead differently.

WHAT NEEDS TO SHIFT, & WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM EUROPE?For the last podcast of 2023, we are joined by Aussie church planting legend, Steve Wyndham. Steve and his wife Maylin, have been serial church planters within the ACC, within Australia, the UK, and all throughout Europe. Steve is passionate about planting churches that genuinely reach the lost in spaces that have no, or have a dormant Christian presence. His words in this podcast echo a genuine warning to the Aussie church that we must engineer and plant churches that seek to reach those outside of the church, rather than shifting sheep around. Ministering in parts of Europe where the church of Jesus Christ was planted, that have no tangible expression of the Kingdom now, is our future if it is not for churches that plant churches, that reproduce disciple-making disciples.Available now on YOUTUBE | SPOTIFY | APPLE PODCASTS

Rather, he speaks to the culture of making disciples to determine the direction of the church in both the large, and smaller environments. This episode is a practical introduction to how every church in Australia might be an embodied culture of making disciples as Jesus commissioned.Available now on YOUTUBE | SPOTIFY | APPLE PODCASTS
