Our thoughts are where we begin to create the reality of our lives. As a rugby player I watch a lot of film of training sessions and of matches. It gives me a different perspective where I can analyse my behaviour and even my thoughts and attitudes during each play. That perspective is powerful because it helps me see the truth of how I’m really going and what I can do better. In this podcast I share how this lesson can apply to life and how it can help you take your health, marriage or even finances to the next level.
In this episode I share what has helped me go from working a 9-5 job, building a coaching business to becoming a professional rugby player in a matter of months. Do you have self confidence? Self confidence is really trusting one self. We’re all human with doubts and fears. But they can really hold us back from living up to our true potential in life. Developing self confidence is something you have control over and it can help you move past the doubt and fears that could be holding you back. In this episode I share with you 3 things you can do to develop self confidence.
Right now you have routines, rituals and rhythms that are giving you your current results. If you want to change your current reality a big part of that is becoming aware of how you live your life. Becoming more intentional about how you start or end your days make a huge difference to how you show up. Create routines, rituals and rhythms that serve the life you really want.
Our attitude affects the quality of our life. Blaming and complaining about our circumstances brings little happiness. Focusing on our problems often invites more problems into our life. On the other hand, developing an attitude of gratitude gives you energy and power. I share with you 3 ways you can increase your attitude of gratitude so you feel joy even in turbulent times.
I used to be a very angry person. To others I was nice, but behind closed doors I would be short tempered with my wife, give her the silent treatment for weeks, I’d hit my young children and I also struggled a lot with road rage. I was unhappy with who I was being and I wanted to change. So I did. In this podcast I share the 3 most important lessons that took me from being an angry person to a 5 star husband and Dad who is calm, patient and present 90% of the time. I’m not perfect but from where I was I am in such a better place! I want to help you if you share the same struggles as me.
Setting goals is the easy part. The harder part is making it a reality. A good question I ask myself when I set goals is “what’s the price I will need to pay to make that happen?”. If I’m willing to pay the price I proceed. If not, I don’t. Commitment is the number one ingredient you need when achieving big goals. It’s important because you will be tested over and over again in your journey to achieving your big goals. It will not come easy. But it is ALWAYS worth paying the price for. Every time.
Everybody wants something. Improved health, a thriving marriage, more money, a nicer holiday. But most people don’t ask the question - “what will it cost?”. If you want to grow and improv your life you will experience pain and discomfort. It will not be easy but it will always be worth it! Embrace the pain, grow and become the best version of yourself.. TODAY!
Improving the quality of anything takes consistent effort over a long period of time. The same goes for marriages and relationships. Like a plant, if they are not watered and nurtured, they do not grow. Here are a few tips you can use to help you improve the quality of your marriage and relationships. They are simple, but when practiced daily create a thriving marriage.. not just one that is barely surviving.
Learning a new skill is not easy. It takes action, failure and more action. A lot of people give up before they succeed. I talk about the mindset you need to develop skills and achieve goals.
There are moments in our lives where we get sick and tired of unworkable behaviour. You realise you need to change! So what do you do? Do you make the tough decision to change or do you go back to your old easy ways? In this podcast I share about my experience with changing habits and my behaviour as a Dad. Change is possible if you choose it. I believe the purpose of our being is to grow, change and expand so we can add value to others.
How does someone maximise their money, time and network? I share a simple solution that is so important to answering this question. It came up during a coaching session with a client who is a professional rugby player. I hope it helps you to achieve your goals and your potential.
If you are listening to this podcast you want to win. You aren’t happy with settling for anything less in all areas of your life! I talk about how when you don’t want to win you end up losing. Your mindset is where all of our actions begin. I share an experience from a recent rugby union match I played in and the shift in mindset that we needed to make as a team if we were to win. There’s a saying “If you believe you can or if you believe you can’t, you will always be right”.
Who you choose to surround yourself with matters. If you have big dreams surround yourself with other people with the same vision. Doubt and fear kill dreams more than failure, so if your current environment and group of friends are negative - get out! Instead, surround yourself with people who will support you - no matter your dreams or goals.. listen to mentors who have the same values and vision as you, consume their free content on IG, FB, and YouTube. One of the mentors I follow (Sam Ratumaitavuki) said “An investment in self development pays the highest dividends.”
There is no talent required to go get what you want. It only takes a commitment to do the work every single day. I share my journey to becoming a professional rugby player which required a lot more hard work than talent. This lesson of “no talent required” all started when I was 11 years and it drives me to this day. No one is coming to save you or magically gift you success - it is earned.
It’s easy to live life at 70% doing the bare minimum. Something special happens when you choose to go the extra mile. When you go all in. You find you have more to give. You expand your capacity. I share with you an experience that shifted my perspective and increased my commitment to go the extra mile.
