We're back with another deep conversation this time about law enforcement and the need for police in our society. Our first guest is Assistant Chief Sean Mahan of the City of Milford, Ohio, who is a specialist in "use of force" training. Mahan is a 25-year veteran having worked road patrol, investigations, narcotics, and community outreach. We talk to Mahan about modern policing and what misconceptions the public has today about law enforcement. He also gives us a critical view of what must get better and how agencies are trying to establish better community ties. Then, Protocol Cigars founder Juan Cancel joins us to talk about his own career as a police officer in New York and the inspiration for his Lawman Series of cigars. Hosts Scott Gulbransen, Mark Hall, and Luke Mayernik smoke the Elliot Ness from the Lawman Series and give you their thoughts on the cigar.

How many people believe in some sort of conspiracy theory? A ton and we talk about the psychological reasons why they appeal to us and why the belief in them increases during times of social unrest and uncertainty. Hosts Scott Gulbransen, Mark Hall and Luke Mayernik discuss their favorite theories. This week's guest is Illusione cigar's brand leader Fred Rewey. Rewey talks about conspiracy theories and the Illusione's use of the mysterious as part of their cigar line. The guys smoke the Illusione MJ12 and Rewey expands on why the company's line is considered one of the best by "cigar geeks." As always, the podcast comes to you live from the Mason Cigar Manor in Mason, Ohio.

Our debut episode of The Burning Question: Beyond the Lounge asks is  coincidence, chance, or fate real or just a human construct? This unique show, recorded live at the Mason Cigar Manor in Mason, OH, combines the love of premium cigars with the art of stimulating conversation. Join hosts Mark Hall, Luke Mayernik, and Scott Gulbransen as they light up a cigar and ponder the great mysteries and questions of life. Plus: hear our Cigar of the Week as we talk about what we're smoking during the show.

In this episode, we ask: are there forces that intervene in our lives and cause things to happen to us? Are we left to a predetermined fate or does our free will mean we control the journey along the path of life? Do coincidences exist or, as Freud wrote, the human mind just tries to connect events to make more sense of them?

The show will soon be available via live video so subscribe and stay tuned for the debut soon.
