Life is often described as a race. It’s not about competing with others, but about pushing ourselves to grow, persevere, and stay true to the purposes God has created for us. Whether you’re facing a difficult season, pursuing a long-term goal, or simply trying to navigate the chaos of everyday life in a new year, it can feel like you’re always running. But the key to running the race in 2025 is something far deeper than just willpower—it’s the power of an everyday prayer.

Join us in January as Pastor Steve unpacks a prayer that he prays at the “starting line” of every day. It’s a prayer that invites everyone to run in such a way as to win.

Specific songs take over the radio each summer to be declared the “song of the summer!” In 1964, the Beach Boys hit “I Get Around” was the song people were listening to by the pool. In 1982, it was “Eye of the Tiger.” TLC’s “Waterfalls” was a big hit in 1995. Harry Styles’ song, “As It Was” was huge in 2022. Who will hold the title this year? What these songs have in common is that they all cause us to get up and sing and dance.

The book of Psalms was originally titled Tehillim, which means “praise songs” in Hebrew? The English title of “Psalms” originated from the Greek title “Psalmoi,” also meaning “Songs of Praise.” Many of the Psalms were poems written to music and became songs for the soul.

This summer we are going to unpack the truth, hope, and purpose that God desires for our lives from the Psalms. Join us each Sunday in June and July!

Most people have someone they look up to or want to be like. It might be a family member, a mentor, a sports star, a celebrity, or an individual that has achieved success in their line of work. In the 80’s and 90’s many wanted to be “like Mike.” Today, your daughter might want to be like Taylor Swift or you might want to make money like Elon Musk. It’s natural for us to want to be like someone.

During the first 90 Days of this New Year leading up to Easter, we invite you to join us in a journey through the book of Mark as we discover how to live and love like Jesus. He calls us to be “Like Him” and experience a life full of love, adventure, and purpose that will outlast our own lives. Beginning Sunday, January 7, and culminating on Easter Sunday, March 31, we will explore and discover what it means to live a life “LIKE HIM.”

Every year, as Christmas starts approaching, there’s another thing that seems to happen…the calendar starts filling up. All of a sudden, your days and nights become full of kids performances, parties, tree lightings, festivals, shopping, decorating, and more. It can be so easy to let the busyness take over.

This year, let’s choose to make this time truly matter. Let’s choose to help ourselves and our families stay connected to each other and to the Father by focusing on what He has brought to each of our lives. He is the giver of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.

Join us on Sundays in December as we Countdown to Christmas! Our prayer is that this season would refresh us in the truth that God is faithful and keeps His promises. He kept His promise of sending a Savior to the world and He will keep His promise that Jesus is coming back again one day!

Izabella McMillon grew up during the communistic regime in Romania when even attending a church could have resulted in death. Finding a hidden Bible in their home, Izabella and her brother began secretly attending church weekly.

When she was 13 years old, Izabella received a colorful shoebox gift. For her, the gift was life-changing, because it confirmed God’s existence and unconditional love. She finally understood that this God that she was reading about in the Bible cared for her. Since that day, Izabella has come to the United States and introduced the shoebox project to churches, schools, and her own children.

Our journey at TrueNorth since its launch has revealed that when we make room, God’s blessing always follows. Faith grows, lives are changed, more people are reached, and the generosity of God’s people increases whenever we make room for more of God and less of ourselves. As we celebrate 19 years of ministry this month, we find ourselves with another opportunity to Make Room. Join us during the month of August as Pastor Steve invites us to commit ourselves and our resources to the vision God has for TrueNorth this fall and beyond!

God has called His followers and His church to pass on the baton of faith in Jesus and His life-giving truth to all people. The Psalmist declared, “We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders” (Psalm 78:4). It begins with the next generation and extends locally and globally around the world. Join us as we hear a vision from our Next Gen pastors and Associate Pastor about how to “pass it on” to children, teens, and our neighbors.

We all would agree that our thoughts are powerful. They change our perspective, impact our decisions, and influence our habits. But what do we do when we become trapped by our thoughts, unable to escape negative and unhealthy thinking?

During the next four weeks we will be learning how the Scriptures teach us to take our thoughts captive and win the war in our minds.

Join us during our series, Thrift Shop, as we unpack what it looks like to take off our old clothes and put on the clothes of Christ. We will dive into the book of Colossians as we unpack what it looks like to live a life fully clothed in the attributes of Christ.

When you follow Jesus and His words, you begin to recognize that His teaching, values, and actions are often unfamiliar because they are very different than the world. Sometimes you feel at odds with the cultural norm, because His ways are Counter Culture.

Peter was one of the disciples who followed Jesus the closest. He wrote a book to those following Jesus that felt discouraged and disoriented in the face of the culture they lived in. At times they felt like foreigners in the world, primarily because of their association and devotion to Jesus. He encouraged them to stay the course despite the frustration, confusion, and suffering they might experience. During the next several weeks we will unpack the book of 1 Peter and his invitation for each of us to experience the hope and strength that Jesus gives us to live Counter Culture.

Most of us are aware of the threat of silent killers. We’re used to being cautioned against diets that lead to high blood pressure and high cholesterol. We know friends whose homes have harbored the hazards of lead paint and asbestos. Most of us are familiar with filtering our water for fear of bacteria. But what about emotional and spiritual silent killers? What can we use to protect ourselves against them? In this New Year’s series, Pastor Steve will unmute four familiar silent killers that often hijack our faith and steal our peace and joy, while teaching us how to find freedom in Christ.

The Holy Spirit is often the forgotten member of the Trinity. Most Christians know about Him, but most are unclear who He is or how to interact with Him in their life. Yet something was so important about the Holy Spirit that Jesus told his disciples it was better if He left so the Spirit could come. He said the Spirit inside them would be better than the Jesus beside them. During the next 40 days, we will do a deep dive into Romans 8 to discover the joy, power, and victory that we can have daily as Christ followers walking with the Holy Spirit in our lives. He’s real, He’s with you, and He wants to lead you!

We often think, worry, and speak of what might happen in the future. Much of our energy today is often focused on tomorrow. Is it possible that we’ve become so consumed with “there and then” that we’ve forgotten about the “here and now.” God’s vision for our lives and His church are fueled by what we do today, allowing us to transform our tomorrow.

As children, we were often asking one another, “What do you want for Christmas?” We hoped to see some of those special gifts we desired around the tree. This Christmas God asks us, “What do you want for Christmas?” He is a Father who desires to give us His perfect gifts. Gifts that bring us hope, peace, and joy in a world that often seems so dark.

We live in confusing times. Many aren’t sure who to believe or what to believe. If there’s ever been a season to consider the old adage, “Your actions speak louder than words” it’s today! As His church, our love for Jesus and this world is revealed by our actions not just our words. “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13).

Masks are great for holidays. But they are a completely unhealthy way to manage your life. And eventually, you have to take them off anyway, because no one can wear a mask all day long, all year round. How great would it be if you could be celebrated for your honesty and transparency instead of the false front you portray each and every day? Jesus invites you to take off the mask and experience the freedom of being the you He created you to be.

Matthew gives an account of Jesus’ life and ministry as He teaches people what it means to be part of His kingdom, the “Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew proclaims that Jesus is the Messiah, the promised descendant of King David, who would bring God’s Kingdom to earth and establish a time of peace and justice. According to Matthew Jesus is all this and so much more!

The joy of receiving Jesus is unlike any other. I have been forgiven. I have a new purpose. God’s spirit lives within me. Heaven is my home. However, we often forget that we live on enemy territory. The world is not our home. We’ve entered a battle between light and dark, good and evil. We live on the front lines of that battle every day but we are not alone. Join us as we discover how God has called and equipped us to live as a soldier of His light and love on the FRONT LINES.

The mission of TrueNorth is to lead people into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to know Jesus and make him known. For 17 years these words of Jesus in Luke 15:4, have defined who we are and what we are about: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them—what do you do? You leave the other ninety-nine sheep in the pasture and go looking for the one that got lost until you find it.”

We have pursued this calling passionately and God has blessed us with thousands of changed lives. Join us May 16-June 6, as Pastor Steve unpacks the next step of faith for us to embrace, as we make room for the one at TrueNorth.
