Ask Neurotic:

How do y’all feel about the new identity market being offered by @the_nftgeek ? Any concerns or excitement?

Do you think selling II will lead to II farming.. (looking for unusual numbers to sell).. leading to a massive spike in II accounts but minimal new users?

What about selling apps/ dev controller identity?

Satoshi stepped down and the bitcoin has continued to operate now for almost 12 years without him being there. My question is: is it possible if dfinity stepped down would ic protocol survive ? Can we reach this place of decentralization ?

Does DFINITY have a small/medium/large amount of partnerships behind closed curtains with important institutions/companies that are waiting to be made public when the time is right?

Questions about CF/Openchat:

Does anyone know where the valuations come from for the SNS sales? Do the teams get to decide themselves? This is the last thing I need to know before committing to the community fund

It would be good if you and Jesse could review how the CF works and what it means to participate in the SNS sale via the CF. What are the differences between CF participation and direct participation? Why should someone consider CF participation?

What is the benefit of joining the CF over simply buying in the decentralization sale? Is the CF in a beta state with more features to come? Looking for clarity and hope 🙏 | my point is why cant WE be the whales. A Private SNS CF sale where we can spend maturity like mad, and potentially decrease the amt of tokens that get sold to the public if we buy too many. like an NFT white list for entrepot. the extra risk of locking for 8yr needs rewards. | We can be the whales of the project handing control to their apps design the sale this way but I don't think it would be a good idea for the NNS to dictate how they design their tokenomics. I would love to be a whale for once though. 😂.

“Whats something you have changed your mind on regarding ICP or blockchain in the last 3 months?” Always want to know how thinking has evolved.

Is Crypto a Solution Looking for a Problem?

How do DAOs and employment work.. when a DAO grows to the stage of needing employees how does this work. Does this limit DAOs to small scale stuff?

Who's checking Jesse is turning up to work? 😂

Please discuss the new genesis dissolving neuron dynamics. We no longer are in Zone 2 since the Zones are no longer so easily defined. Really interesting charts Kyle posted earlier

What percentage of the community fund can go into any one SNS? Right now there’s over 17M ICP in the community fund which is over $80M aka lots of Moolah for ICP projects. Amazing thing is it is recurring as it comes from maturity

With regard to SEC regulation, what are some unique advantages and challenges that app builders on the #IC need to understand compared to building on web2 or other chains? Are there resources you can recommend?

#AskNeurotic ckBTC questions:

In order for ckBTC to be fully backed by BTC doesn’t that mean there has to be a pool of BTC somewhere? If not, how does that work? If so, what happens if the pool of BTC runs out?

How do we pay for ckBTC transactions? In ckBTC or in ICP?

Love the show. What are the main use cases for native BTC on ICP aka the BTC integration and also ckBTC?

How do you feel about the (worst case) 7/19 multi-sig (technically a bit better than a multi-sig) protecting the BTC pool?

Also, fees involved with converting between the two? Time to convert…instant, within a min, etc? Use cases? Most of all, doing away with the word “bridgeless” and explaining how it’s different than using a bridge all together because there’s a legit argument it’s misleading.

What do you think will be most popular use cases of ckBTC? If I have BTC, when should I convert it to ckBTC? Why is it called 'ck'BTC and not 'IC'BTC? (other chains seem to follow that naming convention) Under what circumstances is my ckBTC not safe?

Not a question as much as a suggestion to take a look at the process of key re-sharing. It adds another layer of difficulty in exploiting the direct integration, as they have a limited time (~10 min iirc) before the keys get reshared and any progress they made is foiled.

It’s 2023 and Jesse & Kyle are back with a fresh episode of Neurotic, featuring all #AskNeurotic questions for the whole episode. Will Kyle dogs eat all the socks? Will Jesse let Kyle off the hook with recommendations? These questions and more that get into Kybra, ICP marketing & biz dev, bad actors, SNS-1 bots and much, much more. This episode really puts Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook on the map!

Has @kylelangham written anything in Kybra yet? And why is it the greatest smart contract CDK and programming language of all time?

I asked the new AI App to make me a eCommerce site using Motoko on the ICP. For a new clothing line I am working on. I asked for payment processing and inventory updates. Took 2-3 seconds. Who/What won't be replaced? How long?

1/ I watched Solana & ICP at the same price in 2021. I chose ICP over SOL for various reasons, yet SOL overperformed in price. I didn't believe hype had more influence over tech, yet here we are with meme coins worth more than tech…

2/ It seems wherever big money is invested, time is invested. What happened to ICP on public open has had lasting effects not just on price, but by influencers and devs devoting time to other projects other than ICP. Can you imagine ICP looking like SOL? Where is the marketing?..

3/ Is there a plan to recovery? Meaning, how can ICP be known to change the market and "be different", and not just saying it? Who is going to step in to invest their money so that we create time devoted to ICP? What are VCs not seeing in ICP?...

4/ Isn't ICP the fastest, infinitely scalable, and cheapest to store data? Along with being completely on-chain? How does this information not attract big money? I understand price doesn't mean anything to the tech, but when will ICP be a contender like everyone says we will?

I'm interested to know if anyone at Dfinity is doing "business development"? If you look at the Foundation's headquarters, there are opportunities in the NGO/enterprise space where blockchain could add massive value. Thinking of i.e. missed opportunity with FIFA $ALGO NFTs etc.

Any new projects that have caught your eye recently and are excited about in 2023?

  1. What is currently needed for the SNS-1 to be really functional as a DAO? Does @dfinity have to deliver anything and when can we expect it?
  2. When the IC is going to grow, we also can expect bad actors. Currently a lot is the IC-space is about trust and sadly (imo) there is a lack of transparency (i.e. no whitepaper, tokenomics or known team).
  3. How are we within the IC-space protecting against these (future) bad actors? Is KYC on token / NFT creation an idea and should it be mandatory to, for example, have the IRC1 standard?

Spicy one.. if you you knew the ID of the person behind the SNS1 Bot 'attack'.. would you name them in public?

  1. Have they done anything wrong?
  2. Is it doxing?
  3. Does your view change if the action was illegal?
  4. Who decided legality in web3?

.. purely hypothetical 😉

What impact do you all think folks like code and state, Demergent labs and others may have on ICP infrastructure in 2023?

are you guys aware of the cult following this coin has on /biz/ (4chan)? there’s a large underground presence/holding of ICP. comparable to link a few years ago
