In this episode, Tanya and Melanie explore the power of women’s stories, oral tradition, and the wisdom that has been passed down through generations outside of history books. The conversation begins with the idea that women’s voices, experiences, and contributions may have been erased, overlooked, or softened throughout history — and how storytelling became a way of preserving truth, intuition, survival, and connection.

Inspired by themes from Women Who Run With the Wolves, they reflect on the importance of remembering the wild, instinctive parts of ourselves and the role stories play in helping women reconnect to who they are beneath conditioning and expectation.

Tanya also shares pieces of her own personal evolution and relationship to her history, creating a conversation that is both deeply reflective and universally relatable.

This episode is about memory, identity, feminine wisdom, and the stories that continue to live through us.

In this solo episode, Melanie explores the shadow side of the chakra system through the teachings of Anodea Judith, diving into how the “demons” of the chakras influence the energetic field we live from every day.

From fear, control, people pleasing, perfectionism, and emotional attachment, Melanie shares how our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and nervous system patterns create a magnetic field that shapes the reality we experience.

This episode explores how we unconsciously recreate familiar emotional states, why change can feel threatening even when we deeply want it, and how attachment to comfort, identity, and old patterns can quietly keep us stuck.

Melanie also shares reflections on why we often grow right to the edge of transformation… only to stop ourselves there — and what it actually takes to shift the field and create change from a more conscious place.

This conversation blends spirituality, energetic awareness, nervous system insight, and grounded self-inquiry for anyone feeling stuck between who they’ve been and who they’re becoming.

We had some laughs while exploring our toxic traits - and natural digressed (as we do) into various other topics including the moral debate of whether it's okay to hex/curse people and send out bad juju, the power of sex magick - and some other fun twists and turns along the way. A little bit of spring spice!

In this episode, Melanie opens up about her relationship with procrastination - something she once wore as a badge of honor. But underneath it, she discovered something deeper: a quiet collection of unbirthed ideas, held back by limiting beliefs and subtle patterns of self-protection.

This conversation explores what’s really driving procrastination, the beliefs that keep it in place, and what happens when you begin to see it not as a flaw, but as a signal.

This is more-or-less a stream of consciousness and a candid and vulnerable share of where I'm (Tanya) at with life specifically around career pursuits and motherhood.

I guess it's just my podcast equivalent to Reba McIntyre's "Is There Life Out There" and unpacking some feelings of grief around life stages that have passed.

I wish it was a bit more enlightening or insightful, but if you're down to just hang out and listen in camaraderie please feel welcome.

Usually January comes with an onslaught of goals, ambitions, and new year's resolutions. All the things we want to create and be in the coming year. In this episode of The Spiritual Boss, Tanya and Melanie explore what they're consciously letting go of, making space around and completing to bring more clarity and presence this year.

Mel shares how completing unfinished projects has become a powerful practice in closing energetic loops and freeing up mental and emotional space. Tanya reflects on her intention to step away from phone distractions and reclaim her time and mental peace.

This conversation is a reminder that change doesn't always equal doing more - sometimes it comes from taking things away and making space for more to come in.

A Reiki self treatment for inner visualization.

Guided visualization, but make it stressful? The number one complaint I hear from people is that they can't visualize and it becomes frustrating to try. Most of us struggle to "see" anything but the back of our eyelids. You are not a lost cause.

You can strengthen your inner eye and watch your visualizations come to life in surprising ways.

In this episode, Melanie takes the listeners on a guided visualization meant to balance the chakra centres and open the third eye. Learning to see without seeing is a unique skill that can open up your intuition and awaken the relationship you have with your body's energy system.

Have you ever felt frustrated by people who could manifest easily?

These people seem like magnets for their desires, while you seem more like a repellent. Manifesting is a luxury that happens from a balanced nervous system and safe lower chakras. If you are in a place where your focus is on survival, you need to start the manifestation from there.

If you've felt blocked at manifestation, you might find some clues inside this episode to move beyond what's been happening and onto what is coming.

This episode comes from a place of finally accepting that other peoples opinions of me don't have to matter. I used to be pushed and pulled by the opinions of others, wanting to protect myself from negative things being said or thought about me.

From over a decade of real life experience with negative perceptions and opinions, in 2024 I think I've really let it go. You don't have to see me the way I see myself. You can be stuck on whatever view you have of the world, me, yourself and none of it has to be true to me and influence the reality that I live in.

External validation does not define your worth is really landing for me and I hope if you're stuck in a people pleaser cycle, you find a way to still believe in you, for you.

One google search of commonly asked questions about energy work will show you how much fear is promoted keeping you scared to practice or receive energy work. Energy workers can get caught in a cycle of fear by practicing too much protection work - seems weird, right?

Fear is a vibration and if you're practicing protection alllll the time, you're in the vibration of fear - this translates to the Universe that you are not organically protected at all times.

I love cleansing rituals, don't get me wrong, but even those can turn into a cycle of fear - did you forget to open the window during your smoke clearing? Now all the spirits are stuck and coughing in your house (I kid...). Intention is everything.

Would it shock you to think of a people pleaser as a control freak? Or someone who inherently thought of themselves as "bad" and trying to change the narrative of how they're seen. We dig into all of this inside here, plus a whole lot more!

Join us and let us know if you're a people pleaser - why you do it. We love connecting with you all

Tamara McLellan is a lionhearted woman, mother, sister, daughter, one half of the Wild Sky Sisters, and founder of Wild Breath.

She has taken the celebration of weddings and turned them into a whole ceremony that represents the life and death that is born out of a wedding. When two individuals merge to create a life together, aspects of their old selves and lives must die. As a wedding celebrant and death doula, she took this and made a wedding a sacred act of life and death, honoring both in equal weight.

If you're getting married, you won't want to miss this episode, what Tamara has to say may speak directly to your heart. Heck, it even has me wanting to get married again!

Well...in this episode we talk about getting naked and doing yoga - what could go wrong?!

Tamara is someone who brings light to everything that she touches and during my summer of say less (Renos kept us home and closeby), Tamara was out there bopping to her summer of SAY YES and I loved watching every second. It made me think about the embodiment of the wild woman and how she is just like us but brave. Tamara has always been diving in feet first (with and without clothes on) and she shares with us more of what that's like to live without fear and just say YES.

Sometimes looking back on the stuff we've made, or the person we were evokes that 'ew' response within us. But that response has so much wisdom within it. Recently Tanya shared a reel from @mediuminthemiddle that discussed a client's discomfort with their past reiki session and it inspired me (Mel) to take a good look at my offerings as an energy worker, bringing good discussion between us about what is spiritual consent and how do you know what you're getting when you head into an energy session.

If you've been hit sideways with a session and got more than you signed up for, or are scared to book a session because of the what if's that could come along with it, this episode will give you a more candid look at what happens behind the scenes.

We love to hear from you! What's the weirdest, coolest, most embarrassing, most profound thing that's ever happened to you during an energy session?

Right now I'm going through a cold, dark and desolate season despite everything around me changing and so much good coming my way. I'm grieving the loss of my home for the last 15 years, the loss of my routine and a downswing in my business. I've had to lean into my spiritual practices and be so, so loving and compassionate for the winter season that I am coming out of.

Inside this episode, I share with you a practice that has held me through some of the most major transformations and initiations I've experienced to date - the practice of believing that "I already am". Whatever I think I want (or need) to become, I already am. It's a powerful healing tool to release you from the anxiousness that often attaches to this human form.

When I (Melanie) first became a yoga teacher, I had to heal my relationship with my voice before I could effectively stand in front of a room of people and move them to their breath. Inside this episode, Dawna Zimmer shares pieces of her healing journey and the profound effect Yoga Nidra's had on her belief systems while working with "I am safe" as a compass back to herself.

After we were done talking, Dawna sent me this - The one thing to add, just personally, is that I turned a corner with nidra when I had been stuck at that same level of healing for a while. Finally feeling that safety thru Sankalpa was transformative.

And I couldn’t agree more. I’ll shout from the rooftops the healing power of this practice. Hope you enjoy!

Some of the most healing experiences I have had in my life have been in a circle with women. Did I choose my first circle willingly? Nope! I honestly don't think I would have gone into that kind of work willingly. I had the belief that I had to do it all alone. Women throughout the course of history have gathered and supported each other in collaboration, connection and community. After the rise of the patriarchy, we were isolated, disconnected and alone. This created a sister wound or a woman's wound. Incredible healing can take place when we can sit with each other, see and be seen, hear and be heard, without anyone trying to alter or change the way that we feel. This is what sisterhood has meant for me. Join me, Melanie Dawn, as I welcome Terra Dawn Allison and Shelley Duret to share with us their experience in a Sisterhood.

Purpose - Drowning out the Noise

If you’re in a constant state of comparison, you will always find some sort of evidence that makes you feel like you need to do or be more. If you’re looking out instead of looking in, you’ll never know exactly how special this gift inside YOU is.

The real gift, the real purpose is in looking in. Follow that compass. Trust that this is your purpose in every step. Your purpose isn’t waiting for you to suffer for 56 years to come. It’s happening right here, right now. YOU are your purpose.
