On today's unfortunate episode of Studio B, we are dissecting the events leading up to the death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee. Five police officers abandoned their oath and acted with ill intent towards Tyre, harnessing outrightly improper police protocol. One officer in particular, Officer Haley, will likely receive additional charges for his heinous acts. Ironically, three of the officers were a part of the SCORPION unit - Street Crimes Operation to Restore Peace in Our Neighborhoods. Since the passing of Tyre Nichols, the unit has been disbanded. The first instance of the "blame game" came about when Adam shifted blame to Eve when being questioned by God for his own actions. Unfortunately that instance wasn't also the last. We dive deep into the foundation of America as it pertains to black and all Americans alike. Let's be clear about one thing: the America of today is NOT as racist or as difficult to traverse as the America of the Jim Crow Era. Do we really have a right to whine when we have it so good? Welcome to the Studio B Podcast. We are beyond excited to share this experience with you. In today's episode, we are tackling critical race theory. We explore whether critical race theory is a way of understanding how American racism has shaped public policy, or a divisive discourse that pits people of color against white people. Liberals and conservatives are in sharp disagreement. The topic has exploded in the public arena this spring—especially in K-12, where numerous state legislatures are debating bills seeking to ban its use in the classroom. We also discuss how critical race theory got its origins and how its modern day tenets differ greatly from the original. Connect With Us on Social Media

Hate speech and speech we hate aren't necessarily one in the same. Unfortunately, this isn't recognized in the era of social media and off-the-cuff opinion forming. How are we to operate in this environment? One can't tiptoe forever. Freedom of speech is a birthright. Society would not progress, if not for uncomfortable discourse. Connect With Us on Social Media

Welcome to the Studio B Podcast. We are beyond excited to share this experience with you. This week, Pastor MDH is in the studio solo. We're breaking down the intricacies of our faith and exactly how we are to respond when believers and non-believers alike ask, "Why do you believe?" It's not enough to assert that "I believe what I believe and that's that." The Word tells us that we must have an answer for our faith. Faith isn't completely blind. "All is vanity!" Vanity is defined as "the quality of being worthless or futile." King Solomon, the richest man in the Bible - with a modern day net worth of $4 trillion dollars - experienced the finest things in life. Still, he held true to this: while everything else is meaningless, serving God is our greatest duty and honor. Listen as Pastor Marcus D. Holman gives us a word of encouragement. From birth, Samson was given a purpose - to defeat the Philistines and free the Israelites. God gave him the strength and life mandates he needed to do exactly that. His flaws, however, led him down a dark path that ultimately led to his demise. Listen as Pastor Eric Anderson gives us a word of caution and encouragement. It's likely that the expression: "Jesus, take the wheel" originates from Luke 28. The disciples were frightened by the storm overtaking the ship, so much so that they woke Jesus. He did calm the storm, but not without scolding them: "Where is your faith?" We call on God, asking Him to show up when He's been there all along. Listen as Pastor Marcus D. What, or better yet, who are you putting your trust in? If your answer is anything other than God, you will be surprised when it lets you down. Even your own intellect can fail you! King David, the least expected of his brothers to amount to anything of prestige, waited 15 years between his day of anointing and his day of crowning. A lot of us are easily discouraged and we think God has forgotten us. In truth, He is simply preparing us for what we asked for. Listen as Pastor Marcus D. Holman gives us a word of encouragement. In his time of greatest need, Paul penned a letter to those at Philippi. He certainly could have chosen to be discouraged while in prison. Instead, he wanted to tell the Philippians to do one thing: be encouraged and stay the course. Listen as Pastor Marcus D. Holman gives us a word of encouragement. Have you ever felt as though God is not hearing your cry? That couldn't be further from the truth. God made Himself flesh through Christ, that He may be able to sympathize with your pain. He is, in fact "touched with the feelings of your infirmities." Listen as Madelene Boyd gives us a word of encouragement. There are a lot of "undercover saints," who claim to be of God but only come to Him when the spotlights are off, the pressure has subsided, and it's convenient. They're afraid to associate with God publicly, for fear of risking their notoriety. Listen as Pastor Marcus D. Holman gives us a word to right the ship. Starting in January and breaking down the series of events that has led us to this point in 2020, we find that our current state should have been more expected. Every sign hinted at disaster. In the face of disaster, though, we cannot lie down and give in. We must continue to fight. We have to address our mental health as well as our spiritual health. Let's walk through this together.
