This is a podcast series about the disappearance of Brian Shaffer, a 27 yr old med. student in Columbus Ohio, who went out on the 31th of march in 2006 to enjoy a night out bar hopping to celebrate the beginning of Spring break. He was observed by the entrance area in the campus bar "The Ugly Tuna Saloona" at around 2am, by which after he was never seen or heard from again.
In this episode we get to hear fresh news of a couple of some other disappearances out there, can we gather something from one in particular in relation to Brian's own vanishing? I've also examined the "odd movement" Brian does outside the bar as seen on the HLN episode.

Intense searches for the Swedish Officer Deniz Arda continue, but in the end don't provide anything tangible of where the soldier might be or what might have happened to him. People close to Deniz begin to scrutinize their initial theories. No one seem to come to grips with..... 'How can a person just vanish into thin air'?

This episode will cover aspects in Brian Shaffer's disappearance in a "crime context".
With the help from outstanding Tanna from Sculch True Crime Studios we've tried to come up with every possible foul-play situation that could have occurred that early morning and ensuing weekend.
In a situation where a person goes missing, there’s always a possibility that a criminal act committed against this person can be the underlying reason to why this person is not around any more.
When The Police enters the scene to investigate, they try to get an overhaul view and look at plausible situations that could have occurred. They search, they inquire, they try to gather information that’s useful so that they can make their best assessment of what actually happened.
In most criminal cases, usually some form of evidence is gathered, something indicating a sinister motive is discovered, and many times non-pertinent theories can be eliminated so the real cause can be determined.
We know that foul play was considered a possibility in Brian’s case. Something could have happened to him in that regard for him to disappear. So the conversation/interview touches the subject with a notion that nothing has been found.
The conversation started a little bit earlier, the recording catches up when we entered the subject speculating how Brian could've left the Gateway area!

I've began to look more into a set of tunnelsystem which run beneath the whole of the OSU Campus. Since the Gateway building is in direct proximity to the campus area I'm interested to see whether ending up in there was somehow a possibility.

A Brian Shaffer story part 2 continues with Brian and his friends visiting the Ugly Tuna Saloona bar the second time around. We get to know the band that played in the bar and what we guess likely transpired before Brian ultimately made his way out. And how "did" he manage to get out without being seen? Afterwards I recount the immediate searches undertaken by the Columbus Police Department.
NB. At around 03.00 minutes into the episode I mention the possibility to go either left or right when arriving on the top of the escalators. And going left meant in this instance visiting the Gateway Cinema. At this hour however, when visiting the Gateway building, the Cinema was closed and this area was restricted and guarded by two on-duty police officers. They can be seen in their white uniform in the cctv footage captured around 01.55 am with Brian standing on the foyer.

‘ A Narrative'
The most baffling disappearance out there? Which introductory episode can even begin to give this missing person case the justice it deserves? With so much wrapped up mysticism around this disappearance, nothing will suit probably.
Whatever happened to Brian Shaffer however, can ultimately happen to anyone of us. The fact that this baffling vanishing still is unresolved, with no answers brought forward at all, raises a lot of questions.
Is there another pair of eyes who knows what happened to Brian? Did somehow Brian's own doing cause and lead to whatever unfolded that night? Are there perhaps even more mysterious forces at play in this case trying to hide what took place?
Many have tried to un-riddle this disappearance to find out "the true answer". The former lead detective in the case, who worked his case for over 13 years is still completely clueless on what might have happened to Brian Shaffer. But by learning a little bit more about his case, episode by episode, and by gather knowledge of subsequent events, we get a little closer on at least giving ourselves the chance of coming up with some sorts of idea of what could have happened to Brian Shaffer on that April Fool´s Day in 2006.
A Narrative is the start off episode about the disappearance of Brian Shaffer. The main introductory points about the case are re-conveyed and details on what got me stuck into this case are shared. In the latter part of the episode we head into the bar and the area surrounding the bar, particularly mentioning the so quoted emergency exit/fire escape.
For those of you who are completely new to Brian's case and would like to know more in general before jumping to episode 1 "A narrative", I've released an introductory episode about his case which might be helpful to listen to prior.
