The Total Man Podcast: Recent Episodes

Oluwaseyi Akinsola

The Total Man’s Podcast is an opportunity for me to share my unique message to the world on redefining masculinity amongst other issues plaguing young men. I have come to realise that many men have misconstrued the essence of being a man, and have largely deviated from the original plan of our creator. We have believed more in myths that have robbed us of showcasing our authenticity as men and showing forth the beauty of masculinity as intended by our creator.

Comparison is a natural human tendency but it can quickly become toxic when we constantly measure ourselves against others. Social media, advertising and and societal expectations often fuel the comparison trap, leading to feelings of inadequacy and self doubt.
Men, just like anyone else, can fall victim to comparing their achievements, appearance, relationships, and overall success to others.
Comparison with other people is futile because one isn't going to the same destination as they are.
A man loses touch with his core and authenticity when he compares hi self with others.
All that he needs to strive for is to be a better version of himself than he was yesterday.
Seeking to be the best you can be on a daily basis.

The first episode of The Total Man Podcast is an introduction to Redefining Masculinity. I made it clear that many young men are living  lives on the terms of other people and the society at large, and this has made them loose touch with their core and hindered them from living from a place of authenticity, hence the call for them to redefine their understanding about masculinity.

I mentioned that many of us as men have been conditioned to always show the better part of us even when a lot is going on within us. We’ve been taught how not to speak up when going through unpleasant situations. We believe so much in the word “MAN UP” which has led many young men to keep quiet about all that isn’t right with them and in no time  implode because they are not getting the help they need as at when needed.

I noted that the myths many young  men have believed  for so long will be debunked in the next episode in order to make us live a life that is true to our core and authenticity.
