OTY 12: ?
i don’t even know how to describe this episode. we started off talking about all the embarrassing things that have been happening to Brandon Knight (RIP), talk advanced stats because we will always be nerds, and really meander at the end to a whole range of topics that are only kind of connected. it was a lot of fun.

OTY 11: back from the break
It’s been a while since we did a show, so we caught up on our favorite topics. We talk about a rap skit that recently gave Brad nightmares for close to a month, how “Django Unchained” owes a bit of a debt to “The Boondocks,” and our favorite music of the year. Since we didn’t do a show in either November or December, we also talked some about that Kendrick Lamar album.

Lil Pooh & Zilla - I Ain’t the Shit
Don Trip ft. Danny Brown & Starlito - Gold

Some quick notes: we’re on mixcloud now, and that’s where I will be storing episodes from now on until I figure out how to deal with uploading episodes to iTunes.

OTY 10: BASED-ball
On what is probably the actual 5th anniversary of us doing a show together, we start off talking the NBA preseason, Rasheed Wallace’s return to the game, and the Based God’s tryout with the NBA D-League. We also talk a little bit about the BET Awards Cyphers and then get into how Loaded Lux has transformed his talent for old-man puns into a catchphrase recited by writers, thinkers, and Hov. We close out talking about the music we liked in high school, which will be highly embarrassing for us to listen to later on.

OTY 9: Lenses Out
This time, we start off discussing the breakup of one of our favorite groups, G-Side. We attempt to rank them relative to other notable rap groups that include a producer and try to think about what this means for the two rappers’ respective futures. Brad mentions that he bought some new pants, and that brings up recent GQ pieces by NBA players Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook, and the work of Chris Douglas-Roberts’ stylist Megan Wilson. We talk a little bit about the end of the recent season of Breaking Bad and the old/new “Movin’ Like Berney” trend in the Bay. We finish off on an unintentionally down note talking about the NFL’s labor impasse with the referee union.
G-Side - Speed of Sound
Lil Pooh & Zilla - Nigga
Twista feat. Ab-Soul - 3rd Eye
Jackie Chain - Molly
Flash Bang Grenada - Bernie
ISA - Movin’ Like Berney

In this episode, we talk about why James Harden is having the best summer ever and continue our love of great beards. We also talk about Gunplay, how he reminds us of M.O.P. and all the crazy things that go down in his videos. We then spend about fifteen minutes talking “Hot Cheetos & Takis” and the snacks to which we’d dedicate songs back when we were 11-13. There’s also some talk of Riff Raff, “From G’s to Gents” and the inimitable T. Jones. We also briefly address Brandon Soderberg’s concerns that Kendrick Lamar will turn into B.o.B.

Just in time for the weekend, we’re back with another show. There are some terrible puns at Jeremy Lin’s expense, Brad talks about effectively being raised by Whitney Houston, and Patrick becomes the first person on Earth to admit that he is embarrassed that he was never all that into comic books. There’s also a bit on stamp collecting. Somehow, we manage to play songs as well.

We had a lot to talk about, and had to end it a little early. Though it probably would have ended up being another 2 hour monster. I also was mostly able to fix the audio on my end, making this whole process a lot less stressful. Enjoy.
This time, in our longest show yet, we talk for a good half an hour about Philadelphia, Brad’s dreams of Tastykakes, and Patrick wondering about if Philly rappers mention Michael Nutter in their verses. There is also talk of Baron Davis’ upcoming television show, the R. Kelly/Jay-Z album from a decade ago, Ja Rule and Cuba Gooding, Jr.’s taste in movie wardrobe.

After the great response to the first episode, we’re back with another right before the new year. We fixed Patrick’s audio, so he should come in more clearly this go round. We talk NBA stuff, why the two of us have a hard time with Big K.R.I.T. and Stalley, as well as our recent nightmares. Plus some raps, as always.
