One hundred and fifty one episodes!!!
When we launched this podcast in early 2022, our commitment was to add value to your life by sharing ideas and experiences of our own, as well as exposing you to many incredible voices with insights to impart. I really had no idea how it would unfold, and now, nearly four years and 113 guests later, I am proud to say mission accomplished.
Scrolling though the episodes, reliving moments of each conversation, reinforces for me how important it is for people to tell their stories. I hope you have found information and inspiration to help you on your journey to be a better being.
As this year comes to a close, it is also time to bring the Be a Better Being Podcast to a close. Please join for our final episode and if you are inclined, start back at the beginning to see if you hear things you didn’t the first time around. I will be doing this and look forward to learning with my listening ears fully tuned in!
There are several events on the horizon we’d love you to be part of!

Self care and improvement is the theme of the month and today’s guest is a poster child for an improved life through self-care!
Facing significant obstacles from a young age, Joy Watts was living a less-than-optimal life. Difficult circumstances led to addiction, leading to poor choices, until one day divine intervention completely changed her trajectory. Commitment to faith led to sobriety, but marriage, four children, and life in general had her regularly chasing weight loss. Once introduced to strength training, another life shift was set in motion. Joy discovered that shrinking your body doesn’t fix how you feel about it. This, too, changed, when she began anchoring her fitness in faith.
Joy has dedicated the past 10 years helping women be strong all the days of their lives—inside and out. She is the founder of Aging With Grace Fitness and recently launched a faith-based strength training app, AWG Fitness. It is thoughtfully designed to make it simple for women to follow a program, build real strength, and honor God by being good stewards of their bodies.
Joy and Michelle have a raw, vulnerable, honest conversation about the struggles and pressures women face with body image, health and juggling all of life’s demands. If you need to be convinced to “self-care” or are looking for inspiration to improve your wellbeing, this episode delivers!

Living an active outdoor life, the idea of heart disease was the furthest thing on the minds of Sarah's family. That all changed, when her father suffered a fatal heart attack when Sarah was just 6 years old. Understandably, this event filled her with fear and misunderstanding, but that wasn't the life she wanted for herself. At age 17 Sarah declared her desire to enter the Miss Colorado pageant--a decision that would set the stage for a new path.
As the current reigning Miss Colorado, this 20 year old has turned her grief into a tool for good. The beautiful synergies of the Miss America organization and the American Heart Association partnering to promote heart health awareness, with Sarah's experience inspired her to devote her community service initiative to a heart-felt message. Through her Happy Hearts Campaign, she seeks to educate and inspire her generation and the youngsters coming up behind her to be thoughtful about their choices as they lay the foundation for their future selves.

October is Dental Hygiene Awareness month, and while most realize the importance of healthy teeth and gums, many might not fully appreciate all the ways what’s going on in the mouth impacts other aspects of our health. I was delighted to be joined by Megan DeWalt, to explore all the things. Michelle is joined by Dr. Michael Hosking, owner of Revocycle, a cycling studio dedicated to mindful meditative movement. In the midst of a depressive episode, Michael became his own case-study, and set out on a mission to understand the science behind the mechanisms in play. Brad Williams had always desired to be his own boss, and with a passion for fitness the logical choice was opening a gym. This is a conversation about fitness, but more importantly it’s about the lessons to be learned. The soul is fine, it’s the human that is suffering. With her first spiritual experience as a young girl, Mary Clare knew she was a little different. While there was support from her “hippie’ family, general society was not so embracing. To cope with expectations she built an outward personality to fit in. Eventually this masking led to self-destructive behaviors. An official diagnosis of bipolar-disorder, as well as the anchors of faith and yoga were critical to her evolution.
In 2010 she opened Lotus House of Yoga in Omaha, NE where she shares these gifts and tools with others so they, too, can work their way to a full and joy filled life. This is an incredibly powerful and empowering conversation. Stay through the end as we are treated to a tapping session with Mary Clare.

Alcohol Awareness is a pretty big deal on this podcast and we are delighted to be joined by a woman who has conquered her addiction.
After first experience with alcohol at age 14, Sasha Tozzi found freedom to live without her social anxiety and depression. This rapidly led to hard drug use and by age 20 life was starting to fall apart. Family intervention was a first step tin the right direction and a college therapist's gentle introduction to AA ultimately got her on the road to sobriety.
Now at 37, and nearly 12 yrs sober, Sasha guides others in their healing journey. Living by the mantra "the opposite of addiction is connection", she helps people establish connections, lead a sober life and live up to their potential.
