Bullying is a topic that doesn't get talked about enough. So we're here to talk about it. On Talkgenix with Abel and Pedro, the hosts discuss bullying and its effects on society as well as recap last week's massacre in Uvalde, Texas.

Pedro and Abel acknowledge Pride Month and share the story of how they first came out. They describe their first time experiencing a gay night club and how it took weeks for them to even set foot into the establishment, due to them relating the ambiance of the night club to what was portrayed on television. Abel mentions how he felt welcomed once he had the courage to walk into the night spot. He started to learn more about himself, and who he is as a person.

Talkgenix also did a recap on episode 1, the Uvalde massacre which left 21 dead. Abel still has questions about why it happened, why the killer passed 4 rooms which were the closest to the entry door, and entered rooms111 and 112 which were furthest from the unlocked door into the school where he entered. They explain the memorials around Uvalde and what the 22 symbolized.

The podcast closed with the main topic of the show, Bullying. Physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying are the four types of bullying. The hosts quickly mention that they've been bullied with all four. Abel expresses that he's been bullied recently as an adult, then makes a point to mention that even as adults we get bullied. Both share that their experiences with bullying have strengthened them, but do acknowledge that not everyone is the same. Others may become depressed, lose all social skills and withdraw from society

We live in a world that has become very complicated. We are told that we need to be always on our guard, always vigilant, always prepared. Yet, most of the time, we are not prepared for what we are told to be prepared for. This podcast is about the Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting.

The tragedy that took place in the small town of Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 hit very close to home. The shooter, Salvador Ramos, 18, shot and killed 19 children and  2 teachers. The first person pronounced dead was 4th Grade Teacher Ms. Eva Mireles,  who was from my hometown of Eagle Pass, Texas and a member of my High School graduating class, Class of 96.

Host Pedro and I have chose to begin with a story which hit close to home. I hope that you will all find this first episode as emotionally moving as we have. As we touch many subjects closely related to the horrific incident and comprehend the topics Talkgenix will discuss on our podcast, to love, respect, be mindful, and to live your best life.
