Finally, the time for Ruslan to bombard Gareth with questions has come! Today’s topic starts off casually with a little travel a few weeks back to when England lost to Italy in the Euro 2020 finals. Gareth was quite salty, and Ruslan decided to discuss the origins of that behaviour.

That’s where they start their discussion on feeling proud of your country and where that could lead humanity to. It’s another explicit one, so if you’re 18+, strap in and enjoy the show.

Episode 7 starts with Gareth Wrend’s decision to once again question Ruslan Kravchyk on his and his generation’s approach to work and work-life balance specifically. The discussion starts as it should, to then spiral out into questioning loyalty in work environment and somehow ends up with Ruslan lashing out on the fact that so many people opt-in for blaming everything around them instead of themselves.

It’s a wild one, so we’re slapping an ‘Explicit’ tag and inviting everyone eligible to join in for a listen.

For ages, people were striving to get a home of their own, often opting-in for mortgages to purchase real estate that they couldn’t afford otherwise. Supposedly, it provided a notion of security and stability.

The younger generation, on the other hand, prefers renting. Why so?

In this episode, Gareth Wrend questions Ruslan Kravchyk on why he also doesn’t even consider mortgage as an option for purchasing a house and tries to understand what are the main reasons for such a generational difference.

A lot of emphasis is being put on the need to have higher education in order to succeed in life, and specifically in building a meaningful career. Does that really apply to our modern era, though?

Ruslan Kravchyk and Gareth Wrend dive deep into their own backgrounds, trying to showcase the influence both Ukrainian and English educational system had on their paths to where they are right now.

This episode should be specifically interesting to parents who are locked onto the idea that their kids must have higher education and to a young audience who struggle to understand why they need to dedicate years of their life to something that doesn’t map to what happens in the current world.

Have you thought about the language differences between you, your parents and your kids if you have them? Each generation has their own slang that the rest don’t understand or even ridicule.

In the very first episode of Two Gents Podcast, Ruslan Kravchyk and Gareth Wrend dive into the matter, trying to find our whether it is possible to bridge the generational gaps in communication, especially since both of them represent different generations, and whether you should be offended when your slang is being laughed at.

They also discuss one of the latest outrages that happened after SNL’s skit titled “Gen Z Hospital” in which they made fun of the way the young generation is communicating, as well as test Gareth’s ability to understand some phrases from the parody. For the reference, here’s a link to the skit: https://youtu.be/JF2Mf6HxIi0
