A Study In The Scriptures is a program produced by Birmingham Bible Church (BBC). BBC is a non-denominational, Bible-teaching, and Spirit-led church dedicated to developing the whole person: spirit, mind, and body. Our purpose is to lead people to Christ, who is the Way, and promote life change through relevant ministry. Our goal is to make disciples who will trust and only obey King Jesus and point them to the Way.
Just because we follow Jesus does not mean that we are exempt from problems. In this life we shall suffer and have trials. During those times, we learned last time, that we must not panic but go to Jesus in prayer. We can't let our cirumstances sow seeds of doubt in our mind. We learned last time that we have to realize our problems don't negate his promises. Jesus said to his disciples "let's go over." If he promised them that they would go over to the other other, that means they would make it and this storm would not take them out. We must never let our problems override God's promises. If He said he would do it, then we must take him at his word. Just as fruit are visible on a tree, then if one is truly connected to Christ, there should be some visible spiritual sign. On last time we learned about the spiritual fruits that should be seen in our lives. Fruits of repentance, fruits of good works and increasing in the knowledge of God, fruit of the lips, fruit of the spirit, fruit of generosity, fruit of encouragement, fruit of righteousness, and the fruit of soul winning. If we are truly connected to Jesus will we respond by being fruitful on the vine and for the vinedresser. This is how we demonstrate our faith. There are 4 stages of bearing fruit: no fruit, fruit, more fruit, and much fruit. In other words we will progressively bear fruit. What an awesome we have been having during the start of this series. The Lord's church should be all about making disciples. A Disciple is a follower or learner of Jesus.
