She escaped her traumatic experience of sexual abuse in China and started a new life in Australia as an artist. But now, she found her voice. She is here to share her journey and inspire people who had gone through something similar, that they are not alone. That there is something that can be done no matter how difficult it is.

*Grace now lives with PTSD and would like to bring hope and inspiration to get back up and fight, by living the life she is meant to have.

"My identity was so tightly wound with my career that when my daughter was born, I had to redefine my identity as a mother. That was the biggest challenge for me as a mother. I was living a life of shoulds. Overcoming that and getting clear on who I was a person and what type of life I want to create for my family. Secondly, I wanted to create a solid base for my daughter because I felt like if she felt like she has a solid base, she would have self-love and acceptance."

Does it sound like something you you would say or usually feel? Are you a woman leading a corporate career path but wasn't sure how to fulfill her career aspirations and have a child? You are not alone. Like you, Linda had been through that; who have had 7 international moves within 13 years. What did she learn and how did that change the way she lives? How did that impact her approach to parenting?

Tune in and enjoy!

Fear and change can be overwhelming, but that is just part of life. In today's episode, Milien Botha, an English teacher, who moved from South Africa to another country (which she will tell you more later on) in her 30s, is here to share with you about her personal journey.

Sometimes, it's easier to keep ourselves contained in a box. With all the things that we heard and believed to be true about ourselves, we continue to be our own enemies. If you want to take that leap into a life you want, go for it. As Milien and many other expats know, then transition isn't always smooth but focusing on your path and letting go of your fear of failure will help you get to where you want to be.

Whenever we move to a new place or environment, there is always something that can surprise you. People, even. But that didn't stop Milien from pushing past her doubts and worries. She adapted and learned to adjust to the culture that surrounds her without sacrificing who she is.

So come, and join us on this episode.

I will share my first episode with you next week. I'm coming in hot with a guest who has been moving from one country to another, in the past 20 years, as happy as can be.

This is a story of someone as cheerful and vibrant as Eisle, who moved to Singapore to live life to the fullest with her husband and build her career. But what happens when depression hits? What's it like?

*In this episode, i made it light withpout going deeply into the specifics. It is a difficult thing to talk about and I respect and admire Eisle for sharing her own experience.

Notes:

  1. I failed to mention that I agree with the comment on safety in Singapore. That is something I liked about Singapore as well. :)
  2. If you are someone who is also undergoing depression, what are you doing currently to help yourself get out of this situation? What is the hardest part of being diagnosed with Clinical Depression?
  3. What part of this episode did you relate to?
