Hosts Jeff Denton and Dave Burchett interview fascinating people about their personal faith stories and how it applies to life, relationships and meaning. The title comes from a quote by C.S. Lewis: "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!**" By sharing our stories we discover our story is our own, but we're not alone. As with most men, striving to find a balance between a demanding career and a family can be difficult. From a child growing up in a communist country to a force for change in the next generation, Iulian Avramescu tells his story on this new podcast. He explains the difference in life before and after the revolution in Romania. His desire to be cool is overcome by a radical conversion from a friend who kept inviting him to a Bible club for students. That led him to more education at Word of Life Hungary and eventually the USA. He knew God was calling him back to his home country to impact the next generation. "I didn't see that coming" might be the book title of my life, says Ray Miranda. "That Sunday morning I walked into church I was still drunk from Saturday night." But that Sunday changed everything in Ray's life. "I became a Christian and didn't even know it." Ray has spent the days since growing in his faith and, eventually, shepherding others in faith as a pastor. His story is one of encouragement as he gradually grows and ends up founding The Story Church (Wylie) in 2009. But the pandemic ended up leading to a new change that might seem like a death to some.
