Gates Of Faith
In Ephraim’s rebellion, they turned away from God, but he was ready to restore them upon their repentance. God instructed them to put markers along the highway as they went away so that they would know how to return to their own land. Upon their return, God promised to bless them, allow them to dwell in Judah, and satisfy their weary soul. If you have turned away from God, he is waiting for your return. (Read Jeremiah 31:18-26). We are called upon to make a joyful noise unto the LORD. As children of God, we have much to be thankful for. When we can declare that we are his people and the sheep of his pasture, we have nothing to worry about. Let us always express thanksgiving and praise as we enter his gates, and bless his name. It is God the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit who has given us the gift of salvation. God has begun this good work in us, and we are confident that he will continue it until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to take us to our heavenly home. We who are saved should never be ashamed to boldly claim and declare the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross for our sins. Through his death burial and resurrection, he has opened up a new dwelling place in heaven for us who believe. We are to continually give thanks and praise to God through Jesus Christ. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Rom. 10:13). I do not believe this is a call because you’re in trouble. When we receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, we get a Salvation Benefit Package. Healing of our sin sick soul is part of the Package. But we also have been given mental, emotional, and physical healing. In our verse for today, we are likened to sheep gone astray. If a sheep goes off course and no one comes to find it, death will be the final outcome. We were all gone astray and classified as dead in trespasses and sin. Thank God for sending Jesus Christ to rescue us and serve as the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls.
