Originally from Northern Ireland and a child of the troubles, which has shaped much of his politics and insights. Brent is a secondary Humanities teacher of over 17 years experience, he is a head of a History Department as very much enjoys the academic research and questioning element of teaching.
Brent has always had an interest in politics, government, and the social sciences. He has have travelled extensively in his youth and has eclectic academic interests which he will refer to.
Brent has been an active member of the Green Party for a number of years and stood as a parliamentary candidate in the 2019 General election. He is an active trade unionist and NEU representative and proud eco-socialist.
Brent has always been a social campaigner from student fees to anti-war campaigns in his youth to today leading campaigns of local and national issues of economic, social and environmental importance. Currently he is engaged in campaigns regarding fracking, free school meals and in particular HS2 in which help found his local residents campaign group. He feels that the current political establishment is failing the wider population and a is an advocate of a new progressive politics. An advocate of rights and democracy from the grassroots upwards and a glass half full not empty perspective.
Brent has made numerous media appearances with regards his campaigning on local and national radio both BBC and LBC, given live and recorded Tv interviews and he participates in online discussion forums like Socialist Tv. If there is a discussion, debate or an argument he is very much in his natural habitat.
