The sermon confronts the illusion of moral self-sufficiency by exposing the universal condemnation of all people—Jew and Gentile alike—before the holy standard of God, revealing that even the most righteous-seeming individuals are guilty of sin in heart and intent. It argues that moral behavior, however outwardly commendable, cannot justify anyone before God, who judges not only actions but the hidden motives of the heart, and that the very goodness people pride themselves on is tainted by pride, hypocrisy, and self-righteousness. The message emphasizes that God's patience and mercy are not signs of approval but invitations to repentance, as He is storing up wrath for those who reject His grace, and that no one will be saved by works, for all are condemned by God's truth, in His time, and according to His righteous judgment. Yet, amid this sobering reality, the sermon points to the glorious remedy: the cross of Christ, where God's wrath against sin and His love for sinners are perfectly reconciled, making salvation possible only through faith in Jesus, whose perfect righteousness is imputed to believers. The call is clear: recognize your utter need, repent, and trust in Christ alone for salvation, for no one is too bad to be saved, and no one is too good to need a Savior.
The sermon presents a powerful, theologically grounded exploration of Romans 1:18–23, framing the revelation of God's wrath as a necessary precursor to the gospel's transformative grace. It establishes that God's righteous judgment is not arbitrary but rooted in His holy standard—absolute perfection—which all humanity fails to meet, making every person accountable. The message emphasizes that this judgment is not limited to overt sinners but extends to all who suppress the truth revealed through creation and conscience, rendering every person without excuse. Yet, the sermon underscores that this sobering diagnosis is not the end, but the essential foundation for the good news: God's righteousness is revealed through faith in Christ, who bore the wrath due to sinners, offering justification, peace, and eternal security to all who believe. The tone is both convicting and compassionate, urging listeners to confront their spiritual condition not in despair, but in anticipation of the liberating grace found only in Christ.
The sermon, rooted in Romans 1:16–17, presents the gospel of Jesus Christ as the transformative power that changes individuals and nations by revealing God's righteousness through faith, not works. It establishes that humanity's fundamental problem is sin—marked by the suppression of truth and the worship of self—leading to divine wrath, yet the gospel offers salvation through Christ's substitutionary death and imputed righteousness, making forgiveness and eternal life possible for all who believe. The preacher emphasizes that true faith involves a radical surrender to Christ, resulting in a transformed life marked by repentance and obedience, and underscores the scandalous grace of God, who can forgive even the most heinous sinners, as exemplified by the Apostle Paul's own redemption. Ultimately, the message calls listeners to confront their own sinfulness, reject self-reliance, and embrace the free gift of salvation through faith in Christ, which alone satisfies both God's justice and His love.

He is also the one that make us worthy by imputing His righteousness to all of those who call on Him by grace, through faith. We also take the time to go over some questions that were sent to us. Join us this week on the Mormon Hope Podcast.
