Hidden Among The Stuff: Recent Episodes

Aaron Fitzsimons

Hidden among the stuff is a podcast designed to reach into the heart of God's people through God's word. The world we live in is full of so much stuff that we can become a little lost and overwhelmed in it all. For some of us, we would quite like to remain hidden from those around us.The question is, 'should remain hidden from aworld that is in need of seeing christ in us?' The only way I can answer that question is by quoting to you the words of scripture: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).

The Apostle Paul describes the christian.as a clay pot to be broken from which the light of Jesus Christwill emit

Are you shining for Him? DO you have a desire to do more for him?

if so, you need stuff for your soul - you need to be where his word is and where worship is loved and longed for.

So far in this mini series we have skimmed over what may be the most vital aspect of Justification - its foundation.

Without understanding the ultimate grounds upon which a Holy God can remain just in saving sinners and declaring them to be righteous we must do away with the notion that God merely turns a blind eye to sin and see the Saviour's righteousness as the only grounds upon which we can stand.

There are a number of angles from which we can view this great doctrine of justification, but I hope to keep this episode short and to the point. We are justified by a God-given faith that receives the alien righteousness of Jesus Christ as our own.

That God-given faith cannot be conjured up by the merits or devices of sinful creatures but is wholly provided by Christ's Life and death.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

While our salvation came at a great cost, our justification comes to us free of charge. We are not justified upon the basis of any past merit, nor do we add to it by any supposed merit.

Are you justified?

I want to put justification under a microscope in this episode and focus your attention upon the doctrine in its forensic sense.

As you understand the term biblically, it must not be considered outside of its relation to the law. I trust that you will see the blessing of this doctrine to your soul as considered forensically.

Propitiation by its nature requires an offering. God has been offended by our many offences and thus we are the offenders in need of God's wrath being satiated.

The only answer to God's wrath toward sin is God's justice. At the cross justice is served and God is satisfied.

We have established that sin is an offence to God who is offended, but lets get a little closer to him in this episode and highlight who exactly we are talking about when it comes to offenders. Some of this is overlap from last week, but for the most part we simply need to be reminded over and over again that it is we who have offended God, under Adam as our head in addition to offences committed personally.

Despite this, God has appointed a propitiation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Today we're continuing with the theme of propitiation and this time dealing directly with God Himself as He views the sin of humanity and the sacrifice of his Son. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

There is only one way to live life and that is by trusting in God and in God alone for everything and in everything. This is the way we as God creatures are to be. We have a natural tendency to be trusting until by experience we learn better than to trust other sinners.

God is no sinner, and as God he is the one we can trust with our all.

Do you trust Him?
