FAST AND FURIOUS IS BACK, THIS TIME WITH ROMAN NUMERALS. What can I say about the tenth instalment though, it's more of exactly what we're used to by now, it's daft, dumb, defies the laws of God and Gravity throughout and ends on a monumental blockbuster that only Vin Diesel thinks must've been a great idea. Yet there's something so incredible about this film and it is the very definition of cinematic entertainment. I had a BLAST with it, and it may even be the most fun I've had at the cinema in years. Disney's live action reimagining of the 1989 beloved classic is in cinemas now, with Halle Bailey taking on the role of Ariel. It's...fine. Perfectly watchable and harmless, but not as enticing or imaginative as the animated version, opting for more photorealistic animals as opposed to exaggerative and exciting portrayals of Flounder and Sebastian to name a couple. Halle shines, the directing is decent, it's just lacking a spark and ends up looking like a cgi blur under water for the most part. DC's latest film hits theaters in a few weeks and the amount of praise it has been receiving over recent months is something of a mystery to me. Is it REALLY going to be that good?? Well after seeing the trailer at the cinema...they might be right. Rian Johnson's bold new TV series is finally available in the UK (on Sky) and it's a must see for fans of classic detective shows. Think of it like an updated Columbo, a new cast every week bar the lead, in this case Natasha Lyonne, who must solve a series of crimes as she travels across the western States of America on the run. There's plenty of twists, turns, laughs, excitement and emotion to be found with this show and while it may take a few episodes to adjust to the narrative formula, you're rewarded extremely well throughout the first season. The finale in Marvel's trilogy of Guardians films, sees James Gunn return to the directors chair in what may possibly be the thematically darkest film the studio has signed off on. For me, I didn't dig it. It's graphic in its depiction of animal cruelty and testing, making it a brutally harrowing watch and I honestly wouldn't recommend any younger child watching this, even if they're a fan of the previous two entries. Some of the film works, a lot of it doesn't but as a final farewell it packs a lot of emotion and heart into the two and a half hour runtime. Released in 2017, Vol. 2 continues the adventures of Star Lord, Rocket, Groot, Drax and Gamora six months after the events of the first film. Becoming a fully fledged team by the end of the first, thats an element that is picked up straight away in this instalment..for all of 30 minutes before the team splits up and there's tension all around. It makes sense given the narrative and to evolve the chemistry through drama and inevitably the team up moments are once again brilliant. The first movie in James Gunn's trilogy, released in 2014 sees a band of rogues forced to work together and save the galaxy. Comedy, action, drama, romance, this film has it all. A wildly different film from Marvel at the time of release but what was likely their biggest risk, turned into one of their biggest successes. Great cast, great dynamic, very fun movie even if you're no Marvel fan! This medieval fantasy flick based on the tabletop game is striking a chord with fans all around the world and also newcomers too. However...I didn't like it! And I really struggle to see what all the hype is for it. Chris Pine is the standout but everyone else is just kinda passable at best, but with a couple of decent scenes, shot and edited well, it's not enough for me to recommend you check it out. This new London set rom-com is an absolute delight from start to finish, harkening back to the glory days of Richard Curtis flicks but with a splash of the 21st century to represent today in a much better light. Very important and exciting to see such a predominantly black cast and crew shine in one of the best rom-coms of the 2020s and possible century so far. Ben Affleck returns to direct his first feature film in 7 years with the true story behind Nike's attempts to sign Michael Jordan in a never before seen shoe deal that changed the game completely. Matt Damon leads an all star cast where everyone is given their own chance to shine, the script is witty and sharp, the story is feel good and enlightening, every aspect of this movie works far better than it perhaps should when the reality is, it's a 2 hour movie about a shoe deal with most of the time spent watching characters on the phone. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a contender for worst movie of the year. Apple TV+'s latest flick is a disaster in every sense. An action rom com with some of the worst action set pieces and not an ounce of chemistry between the two leads, Ghosted is one movie you should ghost yourself. Chris Evans and Ana De Armas star, but just watch Knives Out instead cause they're utilised way better and it's a lot more fun. The spiritual sequel to Searching (2018) finally hits UK cinemas, only 4 months after its debut in the US. I even saw this film back in February (coincidentally when I recorded this review too) so its about damn time you're able to watch it. From what I can remember, it's a terrifically tense thriller that'll leave you jaw dropped for a good majority of the second half of the film. Upholstered by a career best performance from Storm Reid and an inventive style of filmmaking, Missing is one of the best films of the year so far. Lets-a-go with Illumination's attempt at starting a Mario movie franchise, with an all star cast and game accurate character designs, what more could you ask for! Well a decent script for starters, maybe a cohesive structure and genuine depth to characters but that's just me and what I like to experience from a movie. Sure I'm not looking for anything triumphant from a film based on a character that only really runs around kingdoms in search of a princess captured by a fire breathing turtle, but I think we deserve something a little better than this. It's filled with nostalgia and easter eggs for fans, and of course it is fun, but it's dispensable and forgettable and I'd find it much easier to recommend playing the games instead. The very beginning of an incredible franchise, that was nearly a straight to video flick. Keanu Reeves IS John Wick. And you don't want to mess with him. Yes it may be your typical revenge film but who wouldn't murder 80 people if your puppy had been killed unnecessarily. After the first movie was a sleeper hit which amassed popularity in the couple of years after its release, chapter 2 picks up the ball and runs with it, delivering more of everything audiences loved about the first. Keanu kicks more ass, the antagonists are fleshed out more and this movie has some of the slickest, albeit most aggressive reloading of guns you'll ever see in an action flick. The third instalment sees Keanu Reeves on the run from...basically the entire world out to kill him. It's going 100mph from the opening scene and doesn't let up at all. Great stunts and action set pieces, interesting new additions to the cast and above all, utter badassery in John's methods of taking lives. Shazam(!) 2 is here, four years after the first and while the first has a charming hero searching for himself, his family, his place in the world, this new one has...spinning block cities and a lot of product placement. I'm wondering how much skittles got paid. In fairness though its actually quite a fun movie. Some decent action, couple of truly laugh out loud moments, but a generic run of the mill sequel storyline and script, so has its flaws unfortunately so no surprise there given its DC. The Oscars were last night and here's my take on everything that won, and things that were snubbed. Biggest takeaway includes a great night for Asian representation with Everything Everywhere succeeding, snubs left Elvis empty handed and Angela Bassett not being rewarded for the greatest performance I've ever seen. All in all, a mixed evening with an average ceremony but listen for more of my views on the night! Adonis Creed is back, albeit without Rocky in tow this time round. But no rocky? No problem said Michael B. Jordan, taking the reigns behind the camera for his directorial debut too. I wasn't sure at first how this would compare to the Rocky films & previous 2 Creed's which are very very good, but this film is a complete knockout. It stunned me and I think its up there as one of the best debuts and best sports films of all time. Jonathan Majors is a terrific adversary (and the biggest name at the box office right now) but across the board everyone gives career best performances, culminating with one of the greatest boxing matches showcased in a film. Strap in for a colossal slating of Marvel's latest movie. If anybody knows just what has happened after a string of poor quality releases for the MCU then please let me know cause I'm dumbfounded at what might be the worst of the lot with Ant-Man 3. Yeah..pretty self explanatory. A bear does cocaine, goes on a rampage and it's fun. You don't need me to give my opinion because if you're wanting to watch this film, you're already aware of what to expect from the title so enjoy! That being said, I wish it was a little better, funnier perhaps through the script as I only found the violence to be funny but everything else kinda fell flat. There's a LOT to discuss in Damien Chazelle's 3 hour epic, specifically the huge swing taken with the finale of this film but luckily for you, I LOVE THIS KINDA THING. It may be the kind of ending which appeals much more to film students as opposed to casual moviegoers but I'd hope everyone will be able to appreciate it and what this film stands for. Damien Chazelle's ode to 1920s Hollywood is more of a suicide note than a love letter, with its sprawling 3 hour runtime dedicated to manic parties, drugs, drama and developments. It's a fascinating look at the industry one hundred years ago and contains some unbelievably good scenes such as the transition from silent pictures to talkies and the way it revolutionalised everything. The Brenaissance is in full swing and the Oscar is his for the taking. The Whale is a force of nature. An emotionally draining thriller from Darren Aronofsky boasting incredible performances and a gut wrenching narrative. Brendan Fraser plays Charlie, a 500 pound man, attempting to reconnect with his daughter over the course of a week in which his health rapidly declines. It'll make you cry, it just depends how MUCH it makes you cry. But goodness it's an incredible film and in a months time, the Oscar will be Brendan's. Kicking off season 3 with a bang, or a meow. PUSS IN BOOTS 2 IS INCREDIBLE. I had no expectations for this sequel, arriving 12 years since we've last seen the character not to mention 2 months after the film released overseas, I went in fully expecting a generic animated sequel. But this is remarkably entertaining and thought provoking at the same time. Tackling themes of morality and paired with swashbuckling action with an all star cast, Puss in Boots 2 is fantastic and you must check it out IMMEDIATELY. Since this is on track to be Netflix's biggest live action series ever, and it's a wednesday, I'm here talking about Wednesday season 1. Everyone knows and loves the Addams family, and for years people have wished for a Tim Burton produced Addams family film/series. Well now he's delivered with this series centred all around the evil, homicidal daughter. Jenna Ortega is terrific as Wednesday and the show is a ton of fun once it gets going. David Harbour stars as a grumpy murderous Santa Clause in this Die Hard meets Home Alone meets John Wick style action film. Except it's not as good as any of those mentioned. Based on the Tony award winning stage production based on the 1994 movie based on the book by Roald Dahl...Matilda the Musical is alright. It starts off very strong and I want to say it's better than I expected it to be, although it did lose my interest a bit in the middle. But it's a well adapted musical and captures the fun of the book, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds team up for a musical retelling of A Christmas Carol. It's fine. Nothing groundbreaking, nothing that'll become a Christmas tradition but it's simply fine and might have you nodding your head to some of the songs. Unfortunately I can't remember any of them a few days after watching, so there's a lack of memorable factors within the film however it's still just fine. Streaming now on Apple TV+

So for those unaware, this is Knives Out 2! I was fortunate enough to watch it at TIFF back in September and beginning from the 23rd November, it has a week-long theatrical run before streaming on Netflix at Christmas. Go. And. Watch. This. Film. It's terrific and everything you want plus so much more from a sequel to Knives Out. Excellent murder mystery and you'll be laughing from start to finish, enjoy!!

Two months ago, I visited Toronto for the 47th International Film Festival and it was AMAZING. Here's everything I got up to and my experience at said festival! For those interested, I'd highly recommend going in the future. Given that this movie is perhaps the most raw movie I've ever seen, certainly the most raw that Marvel have ever produced, it seems only right that my review be raw too. Steven Spielberg's latest film is out in US cinemas soon (or now) and I was lucky enough to see it a couple of months ago at TIFF for its premiere! While I wasn't as bowled over by it as most critics and audiences seem to be, I can still appreciate it's a good film and worth watching if you're interested in a fictionalised biopic about the legendary director himself. It's well told, albeit long at 2 and a half hours, but is guaranteed to be an Oscars contender so see it for yourself in cinemas now stateside. Yet in the UK, audiences will have to wait a little bit longer...

Halloween has officially ended, in real life (until next year) and in movie form (hopefully not next year). This is the conclusion of the Michael Myers/Laurie Strode saga and while everyone seems to be hating it, I quite enjoyed it...It's cleaner and better than Halloween Kills but certainly a change of pace for the franchise so understandably people are annoyed but hilariously I disagree. Happy Late Halloween, time to celebrate with the final EVER entry in the franchise....until it gets rebooted again in a few years time. But for now, this is the supposed end in the Laurie Strode/Michael Myers saga and it's already divided audiences. I personally...enjoyed it though. The first new release I watched upon returning from my vacation HAD to be DC's latest disasterpiece. The Rock stars as Black Adam, an antihero who...does things. Not sure what his motives are, not sure what even happens in this movie except that it's a lot of fun and definitely a DC movie. It's stupid and bad but dammit if it isn't the most fun I've had with a superhero movie all year then I don't know what is. Go and watch it, it's incredible.

I'm almost home from Vacation which means a much more regular upload schedule can resume, but for now here's ANOTHER TV review I found in the back catalogue. Apple TV+ has another hit with Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser leading a gritty prison drama with mystery, intrigue and shock at the centre of it. Not always easy viewing by any means, but a great narrative (based on true events) and terrific performances make Black Bird one to look for. All 6 episodes streaming now.

After finally releasing on Disney+ in the UK, I can talk about The Bear. It's a blend of Uncut Gems and working with Gordon Ramsay, highlighting the stress that comes from being a chef at a sandwich store in Chicago. This series won't be for everyone, and at first I wasn't sure if I'd stick with it because it almost drowns you in the deep end right from the very start, but by the end it blossoms into something pretty incredible and blew me away with the finale. Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow lead this new series on Hulu internationally and arriving on Disney+ in the UK on Wednesday. It's a slow burner show, targeted at an older audience demographic but I was pretty shocked by the amount of twists and turns it goes on across the 7 episode season. The second episode in particular is mental and it's fun seeing Jeff Bridges as a badass former CIA operative, so I'd recommend it for sure. Even if you're young and don't care for boomer centric shows, it might surprise you with the violence and intrigue.
The final segment in my review series for The Rehearsal. Nathan Fielder completely knocked this show out of the park, rounding off with an emotional and ever more ridiculous final two episodes, I loved it. From start to finish, this show has been unlike anything else and it'll stick with you long after finishing. Until season 2, you'll just have to watch it again and check out Nathan For You, cause Mr Fielder may be crazy, but he's a genius. All 6 episodes streaming now on HBOMax and Sky.

Nathan Fielder is a maniac. But he's also a genius. If you haven't watched Nathan For You, then definitely go and do so, but his new show on HBO is unlike anything you've ever experienced before. What if you could rehearse something small or massive in your life, to understand all possible outcomes before it's even truly happened. Nathan asks this and pushes beyond all sense of sanity, creating what is possibly the best show I've ever seen. This review tackles episodes 1 and 2 of The Rehearsal, so enjoy!
The Resort is a new comedy mystery series streaming on Peacock, with all 8 episodes available now. It's worth a watch if you're after a fun new 30 minute comedy series, with great writing and even better performances, as well as certain moments of a particular visual flare, somewhat unexpected for a show like this. I went in not knowing what to expect and ended up enjoying it a lot, while the ending isn't completely satisfying, the twists and turns along the way make it worth a trip to The Resort.
I've been slacking a bit lately so here's a couple of weeks worth of shows and movies that I've watched and what I'd recommend watching over the next few weeks because...I'm gonna be on holiday for a while! The 150th episode of season 2 is all about the re released version of Spidey 3. With 11 minutes of new footage, it's a bloated mess with pacing issues. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the deleted scenes that have now been reinstated into the film. If anything, it improves the theatrical cut for showcasing a tight pace and fun narrative throughout, but the nature of these new scenes are largely pointless and provide nothing more than a groan at how long it goes on for. Yeah, "more fun stuff" is a bit of a lie, I had more fun with the theatrical and you should too
....yeah I know. Look I've watched this so you don't have to. It's not good but Natasha Lyonne is a Queen and rocks even a small part in this. One key inclusion in this movie shocked me more than anything I've seen lately and it gets brownie points for pushing the boundaries of what to include in a kids movie. Another day, another Netflix series to binge since there's a drought of mainstream movies currently. This time it's a limited series starring Melissa Barrera as, let's face it, Lara Croft. She's in a plane that goes down over a forest in Canada and has to survive on her own, ITS TOMB RAIDER. And its pretty good! A bit too flashback heavy but a solid performance at the heart and some terrific ideas, it tries to do something different with a story we've all seen before so kudos for that. All 6 episodes streaming now on Netflix
Daisy Edgar Jones leads her first major theatrical release in this adaptation of the best selling mystery thriller of the same name. The atmosphere created within the film is nice, with fairly beautiful cinematography however the story has cracks in it and ultimately I didn't feel as though there was much of a reward by the end of it. Which is a shame because it isn't BAD, it's just long and slow and is missing something crucial from the end. But maybe whenever it's on Netflix it'll make for an interesting watch one evening.
Brad Pitt leads a packed ensemble on board this comedic action thriller set primarily on a bullet train. It's dumb, chocked full of flashbacks and doesn't always land with the humour, however it's fun and that's all it really needs to be. David Leitch can direct action but the writing and editing overall needs to be more concise to turn Bullet Train into much more than a dumbed down Hollywood popcorn flick. I had fun and you will too no doubt, plus trust me it's great to see a big movie benefit from an R rating, but the book may be ever so slightly better. So check out both!
Over halfway through August and yep there's nothing to watch at the cinema. As per usual. But the good news is, Top Gun 2 is available to rent from Tuesday so go and watch that again. Other than that, the new Game of Thrones prequel begins today and TV in general seems to be taking the charge so have fun exploring some new shows, while let's hope the cinema landscape improves. Netflix's vampire hunting/buddy cop movie released last week and did anybody actually notice or watch it? I haven't heard a single thing about it almost a week after watching which uhh tells you everything you need to know. It has some fun moments absolutely, but the strong opening sets up a movie that the rest simply doesn't follow so it's a shame. Maybe worth a watch if you're bored, drunk, and like vampires but apart from that, I'm not gonna revisit it anytime soon. Except maybe the opening because it genuinely is terrific.
I recorded this review back in June but completely forgot to upload until now, but The Lazarus Project is a show I knew very little about, yet surprised me in all the right ways. An extremely compelling narrative, like Christopher Nolan's Tenet crossed with Groundhog Day and given an injection of video game logic, with serious stakes, great set pieces and a strong cast of characters, it might just be one of the underdogs of the year. The ending is a DOOZY too but I really hope season 2 gets confirmed otherwise it'll leave a huge cliffhanger with no payoff. That being said, go and watch it! Available on sky here in the UK however it has yet to be given a US release date so keep an eye out on HBO possibly.
Ron Howard directs this film based on the incredible true story of the Thai cave rescue after a group of children were trapped in 2018. I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, knowing the story already and following it when it actually happened, as well as the fact there have been documentaries on it in the past two years already. Not to mention the fact Ron Howard doesn't have a consistent track record of great movies. But this is truly incredible. Streaming right now on amazon prime, it is well worth a watch, boasting wonderful performances and scenes of the highest intensity throughout. It's baffling that this really happened because it's a far better story than Hollywood could ever write. Go and enjoy! But have the tissues at the ready, you might need em.
Finally some good movies! After Prey at the end of last week, Thirteen Lives (available on Prime) and Nope (in cinemas) continue to bring quality entertainment to our lives. Aside from those, there's still not much but both are definitely worth a watch this week! Plenty of new shows to watch too on Prime, Apple TV+ and Netflix so have a fun week!
Jordan Peele's third film is in cinemas now and while its potentially not as good as his previous two, it's still an ambitious and ridiculously cool movie by the time the credits roll. I had a lot of fun with it and the third act is truly insane, featuring some of the most unique and wild revelations which cement Peele as being one of the hottest directors in Hollywood. The script lacks in some parts but overall it's well worth a watch in cinemas. Nope? More like Yep.
Jordan Peele's second feature film, released back in 2019 is an absolute masterpiece. I thought Get Out was great but Us is a seriously special movie that deserves far more credit than its given. Great performances and with one of the best/most messed up twists of all time, Us is a ridiculously good horror movie so watch it right now. Right NOW
Jordan Peele's third film 'Nope' is out in uk cinemas from today, and so in honour of the incredible filmmaker I've decided to look back at his first two films and review them! So first up is Get Out from 2017, a dark thriller with some great social commentary and killer twists that'll keep you coming back for rewatch after rewatch. Great film and a lot of fun to be had with it!

Grace brings the Love (well somewhat) and I bring the Thunder, which is great because this film certainly has divided everybody. Since there are quite a few Predator movies and an even fewer amount that are widely considered "good", I've decided to combine them all into one review for you. And for my own sanity. So here I'll discuss; Predator 2, Predators, The Predator, Alien Vs Predator & last but not least, Alien Vs Predator Requiem. I'm a huge fan of Predator anyway and even if the film sucks, there's usually some great action and Predator content in there anyway so enjoy and please don't judge me too harshly when I say a film with 12% on rotten tomatoes is actually very fun...
Lots of Predator action in this weeks episode, coinciding with the release of Prey on Disney+ right now which is well worth a watch. Aside from that, plenty of older films too and a couple of cinema trips but there's not been much else to watch. LOTS of new movies and shows this week though so listen till the end to find out what's available!
It's taken 35 years, but finally a genuinely GREAT movie in the Predator franchise has been made to stand side by side with the very first one. This film takes us all the way back to 1719, following a comanche warrior seeking to prove herself as she takes on the Predator. It's violent, gorgeous, incredibly intense and so damn fun, streaming right now on Disney+ and Hulu, go and watch Prey and be amazed at how terrifying the Predator actually can be!
Classic Arnie-in-a-jungle slasher filled with blood, one liners and a bucket load of steroids. What's better than a commando movie featuring Arnie on a jungle rescue? THROW AN ALIEN PREDATOR INTO IT. GENIUS. Love this film, go and watch it. Do it now COME ONN DO IT, DO IT NOW
Brad Pitt leads a stacked ensemble in David Leitch's latest action comedy, about a bunch of assassins all aboard the same train. I'd say about 70% of the film is very good and extremely fun, but there are a few things that don't quite land for me. It screams Friday night blockbuster but that's about as deep as it goes, in cinemas now though and I would recommend it so enjoy!
The latest film on Disney+ and Hulu is a satirical comedy with a serious message lying within, dealing with trauma and fame in an interesting light. I really enjoyed the first 45 minutes of this film and it seemed to be one of the funniest and most entertaining films recently, then it sort of went off in a bit of a different direction to the comedy it set up to be. But ultimately there's fun to be had and a very strong performance from Zoey Deutch despite playing an awful person. So enjoy!
July's over and I honestly don't know what to choose as my fave film of the month. They've all been...mixed/average at best. Few good little gems streaming and TV has been great but overall cinema releases have been awful for a huge summer month. Hopefully August brings more joy, Bullet Train and Nope are two I'm hopeful for but we'll see! Hope everyone else has had a good July and I'll speak to you next month :p

One year ago today, I started this show and I had NO idea if I'd even carry on with it after maybe a couple of months. Now here I am on 29th July after a whole year of reviewing, wondering if I'll ever stop. Chances are I won't. Which is probably bad for you lot but also there's plenty of content already to go and check out. Over 250 episodes, 152 unique movies, a dozen TV shows and 2 drunk reviews, just to name a few. So happy birthday to me? And here's to the next year!
Baz Luhrmann's shiny extravagant adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel drew a varying mixed response from critics and audiences when it released almost 10 years ago, but I've always been smitten by it. Beautiful, wild, over the top and quite extraordinary are all words that could be associated with a Baz film, and this is no exception. DiCaprio is fantastic and the support cast all tremendous too, bonus acknowledgement if you can watch this film in 3D, do it! One of the best films released in the format in my opinion.
Andrew Garfield leads a very impressive cast in this true detective style religious thriller series, after a crime is committed and the hunt begins to find out where the perpetrators are hiding, and what were their motives. It's quite slow and dreary for most of the 7 episodes, however a slow burn with reason, and it is extremely unique despite having a simple narrative at the centre of it. Great visuals, a crazy turn of events at times and one extremely wild family, this series on Hulu and coming soon to Disney+ is well worth a watch!
The penultimate week of July has brought 2 of everything. I've watched 2 Paul Rudd films, 2 Chris Pine Amazon Prime films, and 2 films released this year with Father in the title. Taking the crown from Red Notice, The Gray Man is Netflix's highest budgeted film to date, with a very strong central performance from Ryan Gosling and a bucket load of country hopping. The budget could have been utilised better perhaps, as it doesn't always look like a 200 million dollar movie but it also feels like a BIG dumb summer blockbuster, so fair play to Netflix for being able to pull it off. I had fun with it and I think you will too! Streaming right now.
Yep you read that right, a movie review podcast is now doing video games. I'm sorry BUT ITS SO GOOD! And so cute. Stray involves you playing as a lil ginger tabby navigating through a cyberpunk world to restore hope and climb up to find the light for the robots living below. An ingenious albeit simple and short 3D platformer with beautiful graphics and a fantastic story. Reviewed on Playstation 5 and is currently available on ps4 and PC too, if you're curious!
This mind bending sci-fi office set thriller on Apple TV+ is one of the biggest surprises of the year! I went in somewhat apprehensively but it blew my socks off and then blew my socks up, delivering twist after twist in an incredible storyline executed for TV to perfection. If you're after a new binge, look no further than Severance.
Adam Sandler's latest Netflix film is far from the typical goofball comedy you'd expect from him. It's much closer to Uncut Gems than Grown Ups but rest assured it isn't nearly as anxiety inducing as Gems and sure does have Grown Ups' silliness at times. As an NBA scout, he travels to Spain in the hopes of finding the next best player for the league. From there, imagine Rocky but make it basketball and that's Hustle. Available on Netflix now!
Amazon Prime's superior superhero show has concluded its 3rd season and with it comes my review. I haven't had the luxury of binging that I had with reviews for S1 and 2, as the weekly release meant its been a while since I started the season however I know for a fact I won't ever be watching the first episode again. Apart from that, it's a solid season and may possibly be the best yet! Insanely outrageous but a bloody good time.
Halfway through July already, crazy. Had a very busy week watching films, lots of marvel and lots of Adam Sandler, not much new content to watch in the coming week so let's hope there's some great summer content just around the corner.
The original Thor from 2011, making Chris Hemsworth as well as Thor himself a household name. It still holds up pretty strongly and I think it may be the best in his quadrilogy, although I can understand why people believe Ragnarok to be the best. But this is funny, action packed, full of dutch angles thanks to Kenneth Branagh behind the camera, and the production design is spot on to show off a lavish Godly lifestyle and incredible scenery all around with the rainbow bridge, Jotunheim and much more than we had seen in the MCU before. It's great!
Thor 2 is widely considered one of, if not the worst movie in the MCU but yknow what, it's actually not too bad. Especially after Love and Thunder
Released back in 2017, Thor's third outing is widely considered a huge improvement on his first two movies in the MCU, however I've never really been the biggest fan. Sure I can have fun with it now, and it features some great moments and humour during this phase of the MCU but ultimately I still prefer the first two Thor films and I'm sorry not sorry. Taika Waititi brings a bit of flare to this film but it's still a bit too wishy washy for me and lacks cohesiveness with many actors being able to ad lib whenever they like. It shows.
Thor's back for the first time since Endgame, this time Taika Waititi returns to the directors chair and i hate it. Ironic for a film with love in the title, I did anything but love this one. It's a messy rom com with far too many jokes to take anything seriously, and far too many bad jokes to make it worthwhile as a comedy. Everything about it is colossally bad, its almost impressive but seriously what are Marvel doing? In cinemas now, don't bother watching.
Double episode day, this is just a quick lil roundup of the first week that July has thrown our way. Not a lot of excitement and one incredibly disappointing Marvel movie that might be the worst they've produced yet, and Morbius came out just a few months ago so well done Marvel. Well done. Why did I watch this film, why did I review this film, and why is this film making so much money. I don't think I've ever seen a film with such a paper thin plot before as I have with this. It's ridiculously shallow and annoying and stupid and rubbish but hey Thor 4 makes it look incredible so maybe it's not so bad in hindsight.

One of the biggest shows on Netflix recently showcased it's epic 2 part finale to season 4, and so here's my take on how Stranger Things season 4 went down. Biggest takeaway is that while it's extremely well made and the budget is utilised strongly, the episodes are too long. If edited differently then perhaps it would've felt stronger but yeah they're way too long, especially a 2 hour 22 minute finale when this isn't even the final season. So despite there being some issues, it's still a very decent scary good time, so check it out on Netflix now!
As we are halfway through 2022, I've decided to do a quick little top ten list and give my recommendations on what to look out for across the next half of the year. Top films should come as no surprise to anyone but still enjoy my take on the year so far! And a prediction for the rest of the year is that my current number one will remain exactly the same. Mark. Netflix's latest action flick acquired from Sony stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson and it sucks. Which is a shame because the idea is cool and I love Toronto but not even my love for Canada (happy belated birthday by the way) can salvage this film which feels like a cosmic blend of Ride Along, Central Intelligence and The Hitman's Bodyguard. All of which are miles better than this poorly written, unfunny, godawful cgi filled mess of a movie. But the idea is cool. Mild credit for that, not so much everything else.
Rowan Atkinson returns to our screens, this time for a new Netflix series in which he plays the titular man, as he faces off against a Bumblebee during his time housesitting for a couple on holiday. As you can guess, mayhem ensues. Far more than probably should, but it's classic Mr Bean/Johnny English humour and in short 10 minute bite sized episodes, it's a decent little show to engage all ages. Yes it's daft and extremely predictable but it knows this and exceeds at being a silly bit of fun, so check it out. All 9 episodes streaming now!
Pixar's latest film is an origin movie for the iconic toy of Buzz Lightyear. Not even gonna try to understand what this film ACTUALLY is, a film that was the basis for a toy, based on a toy from a movie about toys I DONT KNOW BUT ITS ALRIGHT. Seems to be getting mixed reviews overall and a bit of backlash but it's a lot more fun than I thought it'd be, so I'd recommend watching it for yourself. A decent Pixar time, not their best but far from their worst.
Right so I've seen the new Jurassic World for a second time which meant I finally remembered enough to record a spoiler filled review on the dumpster fire that it is. But it's fun. Okay? It's enjoyable sure. But it's a mess and quite hilariously bad, a shame to be sure but I do love it when films are pretty disastrous so don't bother watching it, just listen to me spoil it and have a fun time doing so!

Next week will most likely feature a current top 10 list however this week marks the end of the last full week of June, and I've watched a lot of new films. Baz Luhrmann returns with Elvis and Rowan Atkinson returns to silly slapstick humour with Man Vs Bee. Both are great. Plenty to watch right now!
Baz Luhrmann returns as director for the first time in almost a decade with his unique avant garde take on the life a little known musician you may have heard of, goes by the name of Elvis. This is an absolute fever dream of a film, a total blast from start to finish with one of the best lead performances of the year for SURE, incredible flare and direction from the mastermind of Baz so basically it's just really good and I strongly recommend watching at the cinema. Big screen, big atmosphere, you can't go wrong with this. It's wild and outrageous but a real triumph. In cinemas NOW
Scott Derrickson's latest horror/thriller sees Ethan Hawke play a character named "The Grabber" who abducts kids. Simple yet great premise, executed pretty damn well. While it's not quite as scary as his previous work, it's still a fun time and delivers a slow burn resulting in a fantastic finale. In cinemas now so check it out!
The third and most recent season of Barry concluded recently and here's my review after watching it for the first time, in true barry binge fashion of course. It's another cracker! Although the wait for season 4 will now be painful as it could be anywhere between 1 year and 3 years away, maybe even more but hopefully sooner! This third season ups the drama, ups the weirdness, and ups the stakes for Barry too, it's more of the same brilliance we're used to by now from Bill Hader. Go watch the entire show so far on Sky in the UK and HBOMax (?) In America and worldwide.
Carrying on from yesterday, let's talk about an even better second season of Barry! The first is terrific but the second enhances everything people loved about the first season and gives us even more fun, it's a delight and features one of the best episodes of TV, possibly ever! (Episode 5). Also this is the 100th episode of season 2 of this podcast so yay
I've been watching too many tv shows lately so here's the first domino in a chain of reviews about Barry, a very VERY good show about a hitman who decides to take up acting. Bill Hader creates and stars in the HBO comedy with a dark side, its well worth a look see and with the 3rd season having just finished, now is as good a time as any to either watch for the first time or the fifth time, its a cracker of a show!
Happy Father's Day! But more importantly, happy end of week 24 of 2022, I've watched a LOT, TOO MUCH EVEN, of TV this week. Less movies but still had time for Top Gun and Pixar's latest, Lightyear. But ultimately too much TV and I'm not even ashamed, it's impressive even that I've watched over 5 seasons of different shows in the past week so enjoy my recommendations!
One of Netflix's latest action flicks is a classic example of how not to make an action film. Extremely generic and bland filled with bad performances, ITS BRILLIANT OF COURSE. said no one ever BUT APPARENTLY THIS REACHED #1 IN THE MOVIE CHARTS SO WHAT?? WHY ARE PEOPLE WATCHING THIS? I got an hour in before calling it quits, don't bother with this shambles.
Is this one of the strangest films I've ever seen? Am I still disturbed, a week after watching, by the final 15 minutes? Do I ever wanna watch this again? Yes, yes and y- wait no I don't think I do. What the hell is Men. Both the gender and this movie.
Alex Garland's back with his first feature film since Annihilation and damn this is strange, like REALLY REALLY STRANGE. Might be the weirdest and most uncomfortable final 15 minutes I've ever seen, so can I recommend it? Honestly not sure but it's well acted, well shot and scary fun for the most part but that ending is going to stick with me for a worrying amount of time
Yes I'm talking about Top Gun again. This time reviewing it after watching it in IMAX which is pretty damn astonishing. Definitely one of the best films formatted for IMAX and if you've got chance to watch it in this kind of screening, definitely jump at that opportunity. Biggest screen, biggest thrills, biggest sobbing mess (that may only be me).
The first full week of June concludes and so too does the Jurassic Saga, with Jurassic World 3 in cinemas now. But don't bother watching it. It's pretty pointless. This week has also consisted of another couple of Top Gun watches, a lot of TV and a handful of Adam Sandler films for some reason. Not a bad week but it definitely started off on a high, thanks to an imax screening of TG, sadly nothing can match it though.
Well...the epic conclusion to the Jurassic Saga has arrived..or has it? I mean really, has it? Is this it? The hype surrounding this film was pretty huge but I can't help but feel they've focused on all of the wrong things. There's a film missing before this that would've wrapped up the Jurassic World trilogy better, but this is just...meh. I've seen worse this year but I've certainly seen better, by default it probably is the weakest out of the entire saga so...yay, in cinemas now. Don't even bother.
Next up in the series is Jurassic World 2 which I think is extremely underrated! Sure the plot gets a bit naff towards the second half of the film and the humans aren't the most interesting to watch, but man this film is BEAUTIFUL. Directed stunningly and the cinematography is seriously gorgeous, it caught me off guard how nice this film is to watch. Regardless of whether you like the film or not, it just may be one of the best looking blockbusters in recent years!
22 years after Jurassic Park, its time to revisit the island with a legacy sequel of sorts. A whole new cast fronted by Chris Pratt, paired with incredible dinosaur action and scarily realistic cgi/animatronics, Jurassic World is a fun time. Admittedly I wasn't the biggest fan when I watched it upon first release however since 2015 and multiple rewatches, I really do enjoy it!
Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic about a theme park featuring dinosaurs. It's a solid premise and executed very well, still holding up almost 30 years later, aside from a few moments of ropey cgi... but when animatronics are utilised and the fear surrounding dinos is enhanced in other areas, it's a ton of fun! So get ready for Jurassic World 3 by revisiting the one to start it all!

Following on from yesterday's episode, I've rewatched season 2 of Amazon Prime's show and here to talk about The Boys! It's just as diabolical and crazy as the first, maybe a little less cohesive in its structure across the 8 episodes however still provides a ton of fun and shocks, leaving you wanting even more! Antony Starr is impeccable as Homelander even if he's a truly terrible person, but both sides of The Supes and The Boys are intoxicating to encourage and root for, check it out now in readiness for Season 3!
Season 3 of Amazon Prime's TV show about really awful superheroes and The Boys that attempt to take them down has just premiered and so I've gone back to binge the first 2 seasons, first off reviewing Season 1! A masterclass in defying expectations associated with the superhero genre. It's dark, violent, sweary, sexy and absolutely bonkers in all the best ways so I couldn't recommend it enough! BO BURNHAM IS BACK. HE'S BLESSED US WITH MORE CONTENT. One year on since the release of 'Inside' on Netflix, he has uploaded to YouTube another little special, shedding light on things that were left on the cutting room floor for Inside. It's only an hour long yet still manages to be an incredible showcase of a true genius in a time when not a lot could be done. But Bo, alone in his room, has delivered yet again and it's well worth a watch if you're a fan of the Netflix special. This is available now for free on his YouTube channel so go and check it out!
We've reached the end of May and so far it's delivered 2 of the very best films of the year thus far, Everything Everywhere... and TOP GUN 2. HECK YEAH. Let's hope June continues the trend and has some great movies to offer us!

Maverick is BACK. Tom Cruise is BACK. And boy oh boy is this a ride. Without a doubt one of the greatest experiences you could ever have watching a film of this nature. It's terrifying, beautiful, funny, emotional, and absolutely crazy. The flights are real, the stakes are real, it's genuinely hard to watch at times because of how dangerous it all seems. But this film rocks and I LOVE it. You will too, Top Gun 2 in cinemas now!
Chip 'N Dale are back in their own movie, streaming on Disney+ and it's...wild. Extremely chaotic fun, like a modern day Who Framed Roger Rabbit with cameos galore and so many references to make adults feel like kids again, and make kids feel entertained. It's a good time for 90 minutes and may require multiple watches to spot every single easter egg!
A spoiler filled review of Chip 'N Dale's latest adventure on Disney+. The whole point of this review is just so that I can talk about ONE character in particular. It's incredible and astonishing with the amount of cameos and pop culture references in this film, but one notable character should never have seen the light of day..yet has a fantastic supporting role in this. Fun for kids and adults alike, enjoy!

Avatar 2 (The Way of Water) is FINALLY getting released this December...hopefully! So with the trailer dropping and the anticipation mounting, it's time to talk about it and get hyped! I loved the first Avatar and have been waiting years for this sequel, fingers crossed after 13 years the wait is finally over and we are rewarded with something incredible! Time will tell...
With the trailer for Avatar 2 finally being released, I decided to rewatch the highest grossing film of all time, having not seen it in YEEEAAARS. I don't think many people have seen the first Avatar since way back in 2009 but I'd recommend going back and revisiting it! It holds up pretty well, some of the cgi is showing its age but the world is still fascinating and incredible, and I can't wait for the sequel at the end of the year, FINALLY. Enjoy!
Another random midweek watchlist but HOPEFULLY from Sunday, a more stable schedule will kick in again...literally can't promise that though because I've not watched much lately and struggle with the motivation SO we shall see, but so far this week has featured a lot of Marvel films and rewatching films I haven't seen in YEARS, so enjoy and have a good week!
A very special movie for a very special episode! This is the 200th episode of You Can't Handle The Truth! In less than a year since starting too...not sure if that's healthy or impressive but either way here's to another 200! This movie is incredible though, one of the most unique and spellbinding experiences anyone could have at the cinema this year so if it's playing near you, do yourself a favour and watch it. A multiverse film with strong drama and heart at the centre of it, also its incredibly silly. But beautiful. And amazing. And perfect. Go watch it. NOW!
Slightly different in this episode, instead of a film review, I've covered the first season of Marvel's latest TV show, Moon Knight. Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke lead the show centred around the mysterious avatar of the Egyptian God known as Konshu, a very unique angle for Marvel and one that succeeds quite well however misses the mark on a couple of occasions. My spoiler filled thoughts on the latest Marvel film, Doctor Strange 2. Didn't love it, didn't haaate it but it has plenty of issues that could've been avoided, if a competent writer had been hired. Sam Raimi directs the heck out of it at times and it's one of the scariest films to date for Marvel so kudos for that. Just wish it delivered on the title a little more, there wasn't much madness in this multiversal flick. Catch it in cinemas now.
I'm BACK...AGAIN... I've been having far too many technical issues recently (computer straight up dying) and too much university work to finish and submit, but now it's all done! And today I'm talking about Doctor Strange 2...its interesting that's for sure. Super messy, well directed but the writing is horrendous. Wasn't the biggest fan but fans of Marvel should be satisfied to an extent. It's still written horrifically, let the record reflect that.
Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum explore the jungle to find The Lost City of D, meanwhile I try to find the humour within this comedy. It's somewhere, but I just can't find it. I've seen worse but I've seen better, unfortunately it doesn't do anything new nor does it justify being the same as every other jungle adventure film to date, so I'm not gonna remember this one long after watching it. In cinemas now and on paramount+ soon no doubt.

Back after a little hiatus due to jet lag, uni work and the inability to watch a film without falling asleep, I watched Sonic 2. Yay. I wasn't a fan of the first one and thought this might be better. I was wrong. So wrong. In cinemas now but I wouldn't recommend it at all!
The latest comic book film in Sony's universe of Marvel films is out now after YEARS of being promoted and delayed. Critics hate it. Audiences aren't loving it either. However, while it is disjointed and has many issues, I...kind of...didn't mind it? I was expecting something waaaay worse that's all, Morbius is fine. Much more enjoyable than Venom 1 and 2 for me but I do have a soft spot for Jared Leto even though the guy is nuts. Anyway Morbius is fine, in cinemas now (but not for long I imagine).
My time in LA has ended, I'm back home safe and sound, however while there won't be any reviews for new releases soon, there's still time for one more LA centred film and it feels appropriate being the 2013 apocalyptic comedy, This is the End. A very funny film that holds up well as being a slice of what life was like almost a decade ago, my experience wasn't apocalyptic thankfully although it was hilariously wild at times, and I'm sure soon I will have an update episode on my time there, for now though please enjoy!

Michael Bay's latest film is in cinemas now and it is a BLAST. One of his best efforts in years, I loved this one a lot. Jake Gyllenhaal + Bayhem + a chaotic ambulance car chase for 2 hours = a bloody good time. If you're in need of a daft fast paced thrill ride that'll have you laughing and questioning how in the literal hell half this film was shot, look no further than Ambulance. Bay has gone drone crazy and I'm here for it with this film.
Michael Bay's penultimate film in this marathon is his 2019 globe trotting-carnage inducing-action comedy released on Netflix. Great cast, terrible editing, great car chases, over use of generic songs in every scene, it's terrific. Love this film so much even if it is one of his most chaotic films to date, Ryan Reynolds is great and there's an absolutely insane third act with magnets, so check out 6 Underground, you may regret it but that's the beauty of it!
The Last Knight is Michael Bay's last entry in the Transformers franchise and I hate to say it but it may be the worst of the lot, but its kind of hilariously and gloriously bad. The last 90 minutes is fun, but the first hour is completely awful so I'd say shave that off and you've got a stupid guilty pleasure film that still makes no sense but doesn't need to. Anthony Hopkins is great, why is he in it but who cares, he's great, everything else is less so but annoyingly entertaining.
As we approach the end of March, its safe to say there's not been a lot of great released. The Batman at the beginning of the month and Ambulance which has just hit cinemas, are all that spring to mind in terms of things I'd consider the standouts from March. The Oscars are tonight so no doubt that'll be chaotic, but hey MORBIUS is still to be released on the 31st so maybe that's gonna be the greatest film of all time. Exciting news coming this week, but this may be one of the last watchlists for a couple of weeks, you'll soon see why!
Michael Bay's latest war story, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, is all about the tragic true events that occurred on the memorial of 9/11 in 2012 when the US embassy in Libya was attacked. Its a harrowing film, but really quite beautiful in telling the true events that had been kept under wraps for so long, yet is most definitely a story everyone NEEDS to know about. The 6 CIA operatives that risked it all across one night for almost 13 hours, they're incredible, and so is this film.
This remake is available on Disney+ and I would not recommend it. Pretty excruciating if you ask me, and spends it's entire time aiming to be more diverse but I think they've missed the point ENTIRELY, an absolute shambolic attempt to reboot a franchise in an inclusive manner. Hated it!
Michael Bay returns to the Transformers Franchise however this time Mark Wahlberg joins him. Its a different direction to the original trilogy and to be fair, as hated as this film is, I actually think it's the best since the first. Some great action, too much slow motion and of course more explosions than any sane person can handle, it's a Transformers film alright. You get what you sign up for and much more.
Michael Bay's 10th film is all about the insane true story of 3 body builders who sought the American dream...by kidnapping and robbing a wealthy guy. It's completely ridiculous but Michael Bay is the PERFECT director for this, and with some career best performances from The Rock and Mark Wahlberg, this is not only one of my favourite Michael Bay films, but also one of my favourites ever!
Michael Bay's third transformers film is an upgrade on the second, despite being even longer and even more colossal. This one feels like a change of pace for his prior films, more of a toned down grey scale vibe to most of the action and a gritty take on it too. But of course there's still an unhealthy amount of explosions and destruction, heck the real Buzz Aldrin has a conversation with Optimus Prime about enemy robots on moon in 1969 so yeah this is stupid. But stupidly fun.
The second instalment in the Transformers franchise isn't a patch on the first one, due to a troubled production as a result of the writers strike, and simply not capturing the same fun that the first one achieved. That being said, it's still fine, and in hindsight not a total disaster, a few redeeming qualities in sight but ultimately too long and too forgettable. I still enjoy it though for some strange reason.
WELL, it's time to begin the Transformers franchise in the Michael Bay series. First up, the 2007 original which is pretty good and still holds up well! Great effects, tons of explosions and overall a fun ride seeing these transformers shift into action for the first time. Will it hold up the further into the franchise I get though?
Halfway through March and eleven weeks into the year already, there's a LOT of new content at your disposal this week. Not sure how much is good though considering The Nan Movie is a contender for worst of the year and there's a new Cheaper by the Dozen film which precisely zero people asked for. Either way have a good week and watch loads, exciting things coming soon...watch this space.
The 6th film in Michael Bay's filmography is an unoriginal, original film starring Ewan McGregor, the most confused man ever, and Scarlett Johansson, the most yellow woman ever. This film ain't awful though, there is some fun to be had but ultimately it's an action showcase vehicle for what comes next in his career, Transformers.
Michael's Bay first sequel of his career sees him return to Miami with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprising their police officer roles with drug busts, explosions and plenty of insanity along the way. It's arguably not as good a 'film' as the first, however the action and craziness is upped significantly and it is a hell of a good time. Just leave your brain at the door and enjoy.
Please be aware this is the next film in Michael Bay's filmography, I'm not just reviewing the real war battle although that would be pretty funny, but this film is LOOOONG. It's alright, has some good moments depicting the horror and mania but also it features some cringe dialogue and performances, as well as overstaying its welcome because America needs to triumph. Also fun fact it won an Oscar so what the hell.
The third film in this Michael Bay Marathon is INSANE. It's one of his most Michael Bay films by far featuring so many broken physics and explosions it made me lose a significant amount of brain cells during my watch of this. But it is also a guilty pleasure movie that is hard not to love despite being utterly ridiculous. 1998 classic, check it out.
The second film of Michael Bay's directing career transports audiences across to the other side of America compared to Bad Boys in Miami. This time the focus is in San Francisco and specifically Alcatraz, with Ed Harris threatening to nuke the city if he doesn't get a lot of money. Fortunately super scientist Nicolas Cage and withered spy badass Sean Connery work to stop him, expect explosions and nonsense, but a solid time!
Film number 1 in the Michaey Bay series I'll be doing, his 1995 feature film debut starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. It's a classic and arguably one of Bay's best films. Good buddy cop fun in the Miami sun with a decent amount of explosiveness to kick off his directing career.

Last night, the baftas took place and it was a bit of a shambles in all honesty. Not sure why I'm even surprised though but here's my opinion on most of the winners/moments that made no sense during the ceremony. Hopefully in 2 weeks time, the Oscars will be somewhat better.

The Batman is still the main film out currently and will be for a couple more weeks, enjoy whatever you watch in the next week!
Pixar's latest film has just been released on Disney+ and it's arguably their most mature film to date, focusing on a young Chinese-Canadian girl who experiences bodily changes to a dramatic extent, turning into a giant red panda! It's fun, sweet, and overall tells a very important message on a somewhat taboo subject, but while I don't think it's among the best of classic Pixar, it's certainly an impressive film. It's a new rom-com soon to hit Disney+ starring Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar Jones, meeting in a chance encounter at a grocery store and soon everything blossoms! But like all classic rom-coms it goes a bit sideways...(not for kids or the family, that's all I'll say) Enjoy!
I went to see Monsters Inc. at the cinema last weekend, I cried at Monsters Inc. last weekend. This film is so so good and even though I'm sure you've all seen it, go check it out again and have a fun time with it, absolute delight from start to finish, one of Pixar's best!

It's here, one of the most anticipated films of recent times. Robert Pattinson's debut as the masked vigilante has arrived and its LOOONG. 3 hours to be precise, most of which is very very good and entertaining. While it still has some flaws, it's ultimately a great movie and looks fantastic so check it out in cinemas now!
The final film in Christian Bale's incredible Batman trilogy is personally my favourite of the bunch, sure it may not quite live up to the greatness of The Dark Knight but it has a LOT to love. One of Hans Zimmer's best scores, a great structure and villain, plus who doesn't love that football scene?? Amazing ending to an amazing trilogy.
Christopher Nolan's second Batman flick has long been considered one of the greatest comic book films of all time. That is a very accurate reflection of the film, its very VERY good and holds up great for a 14 year old film. Will The Batman rival the greatness achieved by this film? The wait is almost over so enjoy!

Yep I've really reviewed The Lego Batman Movie...in its defense its actually pretty great and The Batman releases at the end of the week so over the next few days I'll be reviewing Batman films from the past in anticipation. First up we have the 2017 Lego adaptation, and I'd recommend it!
Dave Grohl watched Evil Dead and thought hey what if we make a terrible version of it that'll somehow gain cult appeal in years to come even though the acting is 'The Room' level of atrocity, the production design cost about a tenner and 99% of the script involves swearing cause hahaha swearing is rock n roll and funny man hell yeah. Well Hell no. This film sucked, enjoy.
The final week of February draws to a close (already?!) and there still hasn't been a better release this month than Jackass Forever, but I've watched a lot of great films this week that have been released over the last few years, let's hope March brings something better. Not just for films but also life in general, we could all use a little hope right now :,)

Very random I know, reviewing the sixth entry in the Mission Impossible franchise BUT it's incredible. And perhaps timely given the nuclear threat, but thats besides the point, I genuinely believe this may be the greatest film of all time??? Seriously check it out and see for yourself because every single second is perfect. Tom Cruise is a nutcase but a legend, the score is terrific and the stunts are just out of this world. Watch and enjoy the definitive action movie right here!
A film called Dog, is about...a dog. Channing Tatum stars in it as well as making his debut in the directors chair and its not bad to be fair, if you're a dog person then sure check it out but it's very strange at times and scenes last way longer than they should. Overall its a well made film with a decent amount of heart, however it's not something I'll ever see myself watching again so maybe just not for me, enjoy though.
Oh great, another horror reboot/legacy sequel disregarding every entry in a franchise except the very first film, heck I thought the Texas Chainsaw franchise had already had at least 3 movies like this before. But Netflix have released the latest one and to be fair...if you're after a gory massacre movie starring a chainsaw in Texas, then this ain't too bad. It's by no means good, but it does kill 75 minutes and a LOT of people so i had a surprising amount of fun. Available now on Netflix.
Over halfway through February and the seventh week into 2022 brings not a lot of great new films, a few decent tv shows worth checking out on Netflix and BBC iPlayer but ultimately its a bit of a dry patch for good movies and looks that way for another couple of weeks. Still, watch plenty and enjoy!

Kenneth Branagh's second adaptation of a Poirot mystery is in cinemas now and it isn't exactly worth watching so either leave it till its on Disney+ or just enjoy my spoilery review on it to fill you in on everything. It's very predictable anyway so not like I'm really ruining anything unfortunately, just stick to Murder on the Orient Express.
Kenneth Branagh's second film of the year is the long delayed sequel to Murder on the Orient Express, this time Poirot returns for a....death on the nile! And its not too good! Its very very boring! Why is it so boring! Super slow, poor performances and some of the worst cgi and green screen I've ever seen in my life, my advice is check out the 2017 'Murder' predecessor and then just watch Branagh's other current release, Belfast.
Yeah this is a big ol' rant for me, which pains me given how much I'm a fan of the game franchise but this movie did nothing for me. Tom Holland doing his best Ryan Reynolds Impression doing an impression of a lame and basic adventurer that definitely is NOT Nathan Drake. Had potential and while it's not a disastrous movie, it just didn't work for me. So enjoy hearing me shout a lot
The latest video game adaptation hit cinemas this weekend and it.....sucks. I'm a huge fan of the games and this just didn't do anything for me, boring and bland, poor performances and a trashy script. At least the games are still fun, so go and play those and avoid this film :)
My roundup of the sixth week in 2022, lots of new stuff out this week too but unfortunately lots of rubbish stuff. Uncharted and Death on the Nile hit cinemas and both I can't recommend in the slightest, so stay at home, stick your feet up and watch Murder on the Orient Express or play the Uncharted games. Then check out some of the great recent TV shows on BBC and Netflix!
My spoiler filled thoughts on the latest (and possibly final?!) Jackass movie. This is an absolute riot and might be the funniest film I've ever seen. Most definitely worth watching and especially at the cinema if you get chance, the right environment will make this film even more enjoyable. Ridiculous fun but with some genuine heart and deepness rooted in here too, never thought I'd say that about Jackass but here we are!
The 2022 awards ceremony is under way and earlier in the week the announcements were made regarding which films have made the nominations for both the Baftas and the Oscars, so here's my reaction and analysis of said nominations. Both awards ceremonies will be held in March!
Moonfall + alcohol. A match made in heaven for this glorious monstrosity. Enjoy the ramblings of an intoxicated fool that probably doesn't make any sense, much like this film.
The latest video game adaptation hits cinemas at the end of the week and I am... terrified. The Uncharted games are possibly my FAVOURITE franchise of all time so this movie is a huge risk, my expectations are low but hopes are high, either way go play the games cause they're so damn good. Not even sure why this is an Anticipation Ave considering I'm worried more than anything but enjoy!
Here's everything I've seen in the 5th week of 2022, a LOT of new TV shows primarily but of course plenty of movies as always. Recommendation of the week would be, Jackass Forever - in cinemas now, and the TV series Murderville - on Netflix now. Although The Tourist on BBC is still the best show I've seen lately so check that out NOW!
The iconic Jackass gang returns for one more ride, but have they matured since we saw them last? The short answer is no absolutely not. But to be fair there does seem to be a weight of maturity to this feature, of course its full of the nonsense you'd expect but a lot of it didn't feel as grotesque as previous stunts, and actually this may be the funniest film I've ever watched in my life. Really really loved it and would strongly recommend a cinema trip to see it.
This may end up being the stupidest film of 2022, maybe even of all time but it was a weirdly enjoyable experience for most of it. Not everything works, the script is atrocious and performances laughably bad, the effects are inconsistent and it juggles too many character situations you don't care for, but the destruction is great and just when you think you've seen it all, it manages to defy expectations and confused the HELL out of me. So a second watch may be necessary, and a drunk one too. Alcohol required for this, Moonfall is in cinemas now
So this is the first review of a TV series I've done here on the podcast and there's 2 reasons for it. 1) There's really not a lot of films that have been out recently to review, and 2) this show is INCREDIBLE. Honestly could be my favourite show of all time or at the very least one of the best I've ever seen. So go and check out The Tourist, on BBC in the UK and HBO elsewhere globally, find it, watch it, love it.
The fourth week of January comes to a close and so too does the month itself. Been a bit of a quick one, not all too great but the film of the month has got to be Scream. I tend to have very frustrating experiences at the cinema so yeah this is a little highlight but since it happens so regularly, maybe this'll just be the first of many episodes dedicated to me venting all my anger. Surprise! 6 months ago I started this podcast and with 123 episodes under my belt, season 1 is over which means it's time to move onto the next stage, season deux. Let's not talk about how this is almost a month late but STILL to wrap up all things 2021, I've decided to do a roundup review with films being assigned certain awards such as; film to make me cry the most, most underrated film, best use of a song in a film, and so many more categories. So I've condensed both Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves into one collective spoiler review, both are fun, both are bloody, both have flaws but they're still very enjoyable and work well as a double bill viewing in either order too, which is quite rare. Both available on Netflix too so check them out, then check this out and I hope you enjoy!
Just months after Army Of The Dead released, Netflix dropped the follow up to it which is actually a prequel centred around the safe cracker Dieter from the original film. This showcases a bit of backstory to one of the most enjoyable characters from AOTD, and ultimately it is a pretty solid time. Some great safe cracking scenes, a cool heist comedy blend too but perhaps not quite as strong as its predecessor. Worth watching if you enjoyed the previous entry though as Netflix continues to expand the franchise in exciting ways.
Zack Snyder's zombie-heist flick for Netflix came out early summer of last year and I actually recorded this review a while back but hadn't got chance to upload yet so figured now is as good a time as any! Great movie I really enjoy this one, I hope you do too! A Vegas backdrop in the midst of a zombie apocalypse with a rag tag suicide squad sent to retrieve a LOT of money, if you love the sound of that combination, give it a whirl!
We've reached the end of the third week of January, so time for my roundup of everything I've seen! This episode features a LOT of Scream, still the best film out right now but yeah I'm a bit obsessed so apologies for the repetition of it throughout, then again I'm not really sorry cause its SO DAMN GOOD. Oscar Winning director Guillermo Del Toro's latest film is now in cinemas in the UK, and its uhhhhh a bit of a drag I'll be honest, but it looks great and boasts some very strong performances. But man it is a bit of a snooze fest for 2 and a half hours, tough to recommend but I really loved the ending so it's somewhat rewarding. Still, didn't need to be that long or that slow.
This might be a contender for worst film of 2022 already. Just listen and enjoy, it's a fun one.
Here's my spoiler filled thoughts on the new Scream film, numero five in the franchise, man i love this movie so much so enjoy hearing me rave and lose my mind over this. Definitely a movie worth watching more than once especially after knowing certain plot points. Bloody fun, a stylish slasher, and an all round tremendous movie, ghostface slays in this even more than he has done before. Go check it out in cinemas now
Scream is back on the big screen! This is the fifth film in the franchise but going back to its roots heavily in a "requel" sort of sense. Not quite a sequel but not quite a reboot either, a requel is the new term for that apparently but that makes me feel old because until this film explained it, I'd never heard that term in my life. Still, it's a meta, funny, thrilling, bloody good time and really surprised me how great this movie is, a very early contender for one of my favourites of the year. Loved it SO much.
The second week of January comes to an end today and so comes my weekly roundup. Not watched as many films this week however a Scream marathon and multiple anniversary rewatches of films were involved, as well as a film that may already be the worst film of 2022. So there's all that to enjoy!
After an Eleven year hiatus, Scream returned in the form of a soft legacy remake/sequel/whatever the hell it actually is, but it sure is an improvement on Scream 3 and a damn fun time at that! Silly and cheesy nonetheless but introduces a lot of new characters, for which it has the highest kill count of the series, Emma Roberts in particular is fantastic in this and returning characters are terrific too. Very enjoyable sequel
Ghostface is back for more blood in the original trilogy capper and while it isn't as strong as the first two entries, it's still a very fun time in all honesty. Better than I think most give it credit for, but still feels a lot more cheesy and comedic as opposed to being a creative meta slasher like first and second. But man this franchise is great, worth a watch to see how the trilogy ends so enjoy!
The next chapter in the Scream franchise followed just a year after the original, and for such a quick turnaround, it's really impressive. I had a lot more fun with this film than I thought I would. A fresh and inventive sequel that doubles down on the meta nature that comes with these films. I'd definitely recommend it!
A brand new Scream movie hits our screens this week, so I've revisited the one to start it all off in 1996. An extremely fun, meta slasher film that knows how to have fun with tropes and conventions of the genre. It still holds up pretty damn well for a 26 year old film and the kind of thing that is made by film fans, for film fans, about film fans. I had a great time and weirdly very excited for the new one after this!
It should come as no surprise that I watch a LOT of films. I already review a lot of films but I watch even more than I can mention in episodes, so I've decides to start a new branch of reviews where each Sunday I'll let you know what films I've seen from Saturday-Friday in the week before, and give little reviews or recommendations on what's now and worth a watch. Hopefully I manage to keep this up for the whole of 2022! Enjoy!
Kenneth Branagh's latest film is out in UK cinemas at the end of January and its well worth a watch, perhaps even a surefire Oscars contender with great performances, INCREDIBLE cinematography and a really powerful yet simple story set during the 1969 riots in Belfast. I loved this a lot more than I thought I would, and I hope others do too!
Aaaand here's the worst 10 films from 2021, unlike the top films I was actually able to list a solid 10 although there are PLENTY more that I could've included, but this is a nice cohesive rant about all the rubbish that got released in the past year. While opinions on movies are entirely subjective, I think this list is pretty solid as being the worst of the worst so hopefully you agree too, so enjoy!
After much deliberation and a real struggle to narrow down a Top 10 list for 2021 films, here it is, a top 15 ish with some honorable mentions that I still regret not putting higher. It may be a controversial list and certain films may be ranked too low but I DON'T CARE, its extremely subjective and great for that reason. ITS THE FINAL DAY OF THE YEAR. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Fittingly I've decided to review Netflix's comedy special Death to 2021, because I think we can all agree on letting 2021 burn in history along with 2020. This however may be the kind of viewing that is better off in a couple of years time when we've all had a break from the nightmares of this year. But its entertaining nevertheless and I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2022! Can we all appreciate how this ep is exactly 20 mins and 21 seconds long as well, things you love to see. Enjoy!
The latest entry in the Kingsman franchise is out now FINALLY after 2 years worth of delays. This is a prequel set during the first World War and while it boasts an impressive cast, excitement and a few good action sequences, the film itself isn't as strong as previous films in my opinion. It's still a fun time but one with some flaws that may hinder your enjoyment, but it's not a terrible film by any means thank GOD

It's the Metarix really though because I've never seen anything so self aware before, guaranteed to divide audiences but in truth I actually enjoyed this one a fair amount. Even though I still don't know what the hell it even is. But it's definitely worth watching to judge for yourselves so enjoy!
The Matrix is BACK. Neo and Trinity are BACK. And this is simultaneously one of the wildest and greatest films of the year, just as it is one of the worst and most ridiculously meta sequels ever made. It's one that you NEED to see to make your own mind up of it, but I had a blast in all honesty and is one of the boldest films ever made, what a ride. Also this is my 100th episode so WOOO! Can't believe it, 5 months after starting this little ol' podcast, I've hit my 100th episode. Here's to the next 100!

I'm a huge fan of the story of A Christmas Carol and adding muppets to the story? A match made in heaven. Happy Christmas Eve everyone and check this film out, its a charming delight for the whole family, although any adaptation is worthy of a watch, but hey its kermit as Bob Cratchit and Michael Caine acting as seriously as possible, what's not to love.
This latest Netflix film drops on the platform tomorrow, Christmas Eve so think of it as an early present. It's hilarious and yet terrifying, with a huge ensemble that are all acting at the top of their game and is one of the most unique comedies of the year. It just hits a little too close to home at times, but I really enjoyed Don't Look Up and I hope everyone else does too!
Netflix's latest film drops on Christmas Eve boasting a HUGE cast, lot of jokes and a surprisingly terrifying premise at the centre of it too. I had a blast with this one though and I hope everyone else does too, Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are terrific in this but Mark Rylance is the standout for me. In a film full of characters you don't really like or care for, it impressively weaves the comedy with the heart by the end of it.
My spoiler filled thoughts on the remake of the absolute classic that is West Side Story. Talented man behind the camera this time with Steven Spielberg but I can't help but feel it doesn't match the same heights reached by the first one. Wasn't a huge fan unfortunately but its a very well made film and there's some stunning shots, nice choreography and an incredible central performance by Rachel Zegler but this is a remake nobody really asked for and nobody seems to be watching. A shame but not a surprise.
Steven Spielberg celebrated his 75th birthday the other day and his first ever musical hit cinemas just a week before. Unfortunately it's been demolished at the box office by Spidey, but it was always a tricky sell to make a 2 and a half hour remake of a beloved musical over 60 years old. I definitely prefer the original but there are some interesting parts of this, great directing and solid musicality, I just wish it was slightly better.

It's a big one, it's a great one, it's certainly a messy one too. Go watch it cause I'm sure it's gonna cross a billion at the box office sooner rather than later, total fan service and it rocks.
Absolutely NO spoilers for No Way Home, this is simply a look at every single other spidey film and talking about the spoilers within them. So Spider-Man 1, 2 & 3, Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2, Homecoming and Far From Home. Love all these films, flaws and all they're good fun and he's a spectacular hero that has been portrayed in many different ways, each having pretty good qualities. Except for Emo Peter in spidey 3. We don't talk about that.
WELL. HERE IT IS. Absolutely NO spoilers in this review so don't worry if you haven't seen it yet, it's a very brief review but in short, it's a messterpiece. Truly incredible at times and pure fan service but struggles to find it's footing in the first half, no doubt about it though its one of the best experiences you could have. Tom Holland's second outing and this is completely different to any Spidey film, its a globe trotting teenage vacation film and it's really really great. Another amazing supporting actor with Jake Gyllenhaal in it, and some beautiful locations that haven't been explored in this sort of film before, it's a great sequel and a great film in general. Tomorrow is the big one. No. Way. Home.
Tom Holland's first solo entry as Spidey came out in 2017 and its actually pretty darn solid. Really enjoy everything about it but especially the villain in the form of Michael Keaton's Vulture. But it is Tom Holland who really brings his own special take on the character to life and does so tremendously. Is he the best live action Spider-Man? Quite possibly
Andrew Garfield's second and sadly final outing as Spidey is a pretty good film all things considered. A lot of people have issues with this film but I weirdly enjoy it more than I possibly should but its an action packed spidey film with serious heart at the centre of it too. Shame we never got to see a third film in this franchise but we'll have to make do with just the two. The next episode will get onto our most up to date and Spider-Man and some could argue, the best...
The second live action Spider-Man has arrived and he's being played by Andrew Garfield in this film and the sequel. Almost 10 years on and this film still holds up very well. I really enjoy this one, possibly more than most do but I can't help but like it! Great action, great Spidey stuff, it's different and it's a vast improvement on the previous film that's for sure. Stay tuned for the sequel tomorrow and No Way Home is SO CLOSE NOW AAAAH
Hoooooboy this film is a mess, but a hilarious and entertaining mess. Tobey Maguire's final film as the webswinger and it certainly isn't as good as the first 2 films however there's a weird enjoyment to be had despite watching quite literal garbage at times. Also a hilarious review to listen to if I might add, so enjoy!
The second of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man movies and while it's considered as one of the best comic book sequels of all time, it still isn't without its faults. Great villain though, enjoyable but flawed. Maybe I'm being harsh I don't know
Spider-Man No Way Home is just around the corner so in anticipation for that film, I'll be going back and reviewing every single live action Spidey film starting with the very first one today. Tobey Maguire stars as Peter Parker and iiiiittttt kinda hasn't aged well. It's still fun and relatively good but it's age is really starting to show as its almost 20 years old and yikes it doesn't look good. Either way over the next week I'll be uploading each film in order of release so stay tuned and enjoy!
Another Christmas film and this one is a sleeper comedy from 2016, available on Netflix and Prime so why not check it out if you enjoy Horrible Bosses or Deadpool, it's stupid but something about it is so entertaining to me. Loved it

Netflix's biggest movie EVER (so far at least) released a couple of weeks ago on the platform and it stars 3 of the biggest stars in Hollywood venturing the world to find some eggs. And no I don't mean The Rock's head, different eggs.
Many questions could be asked about this. Why has a live action Clifford movie been made? Why have I watched it? Why have I reviewed it? Am I okay? I have no real answers to any of the above but Clifford's in cinemas from Friday so enjoy?
The 1990 classic that has since spawned multiple sequels and been an inspiration to MANY other films, Home Alone is brilliant. Great Christmas fun, one for the whole family to watch and enjoy. And what better time to give it another watch than right now at the start of December ya filthy animals.
Christmas is just a few weeks away so here's another festive themed review! And one of my personal favourites, the negative reviews are outrageous for this film. Sure its weird and may be a guilty pleasure but it's an absolute delight and we can all relate to being a Grinch I'm sure.
Ridley Scott's second film of the year is out and it suuuuucks. Very slow, very boring, very little happens. However Jared Leto is fantastic despite once again acting so hard like he's in a completely different film to everyone else. Can't say the whole thing is worth a watch though, for an 84 year old director, I sure felt like I aged 84 years with him.
With the upcoming remake of this classic musical being released next week, I've been lucky enough to watch the original at the cinema and here's my review for it! Love this film, absolute classic and stay tuned next week for my thoughts on the new one, will it be as good or better than this one though? It'll take some doing.
Now I recorded this review MONTHS ago so bare that in mind because it may sound different as I was just starting out, and I don't reference any new films of late however I figured I'd upload this while I'm doing other Disney animated films, so enjoy one of their best in years, before Encanto came out at least. Thoroughly enjoy this film, available on Disney+ now.

Well well well...Best film of the year. What else is there to say? Film 4 and the finale of my Lin-Manuel Miranda Marathon, and what a way to finish. Disney have smashed it out of the park with their latest musical, everything simply works and I urge everyone to go and see Encanto as soon as possible. Unbelievable
Film 3 in the Lin-Manuel Miranda Marathon sees me review his first Netflix film of the year, released back in summer as this animated musical sees a kinkajoo named Vivo travel across the East Coast of America to deliver a song. Its a nice little kids film, not one of my favourites from the year and not one of Lin's best however it has still got some great music, solid performances and a nice tone to it. This almost wraps up my marathon but stay tuned for an epic finale tomorrow.
Film number 2 in my Lin-Manuel Miranda Marathon and this was his first film of the year, and an absolutely amazing summer flick. Underperformed at the box office despite being one of the best adaptations of a Broadway musical in recent years, fun for the whole family and for generations to come. Check out In The Heights for a seriously fun time, great music, great locations, great story, what's not to love?
This is the first in a 4 day marathon reviewing all of Lin-Manuel Miranda's films released in 2021. The first is his most recent one for Netflix and in fact his feature film directorial debut. It's a good film, not his best for the year but solid directing and a terrific performance from Andrew Garfield elevate this musical however it's more focused on the narrative details than it is a conventional musical, which works well despite having some drawbacks too. Available on Netflix now and stay tuned in the coming days for the next films in this series!
It's November 25th, is it too soon to start the Christmas Reviews? Absolutely NOT but unfortunately this is a truly awful film to get into the spirit for. Either way Christmas is coming, avoid this new Home Alone at all costs and have a very merry season
Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba lead an all-star all black Western for Netflix and my god is it stunning. Charisma and fun simply oozing out of this film, go and watch it NOW! Phenomenal stuff honestly and one of my favourites of the year, certainly one of the best and most exciting Westerns in years. I hope others enjoy this as much as I do!
One of Netflix's latest films is a western like no other and boy is it fantastic. Starring an all black cast in major roles and bringing such charm and charisma to the genre, it's outstanding and I can't recommend it enough. Go check it out for the cast, the music, the script and the sheer fun to be had with this film.
The latest entry in the Ghostbusters franchise has hit cinemas and while it's an improvement on the 2016 reboot (not saying much), it still suffers from a poor script and being very bland throughout. Fans of the original will have a great time that much is true, and while I am a fan and it did bring a tear to my eye towards the end, there is no escaping the fact this isn't a great film overall. Some funny moments and Paul Rudd shines but if there's something strange in my neighbourhood, I don't think I'd call these new guys.
Who'd have thought in 1984 that almost 40 years later, another Ghostbusters film would be arriving in cinemas? I'd like to think a very similar number of people are interested in this one, the point is, it's not a lot. That being said it has some merits, however on the whole the script ultimately causes this film to crash and burn in the third act which is disappointing but I can't dispute the fact there were some great moments within, and for fans of the original it will absolutely be worth the ride. In cinemas now so enjoy!
The latest episode of my Anticipation Avenue series is all about the new Spider-Man film coming out in December. There's a lot of hype and speculation riding on this film and as the new trailer just got released, I decided to react to it and focus an episode of this on how I feel about the film leading up to it. Is it going to be worth the wait? Or is it hyping up too much that'll end in disappointment, either way we don't have long to find out!
Will Smith's latest film is all but guaranteed to be a strong vehicle for Oscars, telling the incredible true story of Richard Williams, father to Venus and Serena. With strong performances across the board and genuine excitement through the tennis games, this film is great and definitely worth a watch. In cinemas from Friday so enjoy!
So I watched Blade for the very first time and at the cinema too, which was INCREDIBLE. Loved every second of it and it's now my new guilty pleasure film because damn it's GOOD. Some spoilers within, but it won't distract from the fun to be had whether you're watching for the first time or the tenth time. Blade rocks
My spoiler filled take on potentially the worst film in the marvel cinematic universe, it had to happen eventually. Total misfire sadly, didn't enjoy it at all. Except for the very final part of the post credits scene so yay we love watching a 2 and a half hour film for 5 seconds of greatness. Let's hope marvel get back on track for Spider-Man 3 next month.
Finally after 26 entries in the cinematic universe, Marvel have made a dud. Didn't enjoy this movie sadly, that's all there is to say about Eternals :)

Edgar Wright's latest has hit cinemas and its a blend of horror, romance and classic Hollywood nostalgia. While it may not be my favourite film of his, its certainly one of the most immersive cinematic experiences of the year. Very uncomfortable at times albeit a powerful presentation of London in its heyday and now. Heavy spoilers within however a non spoiler review is up already!
Edgar Wright's latest feature has hit cinemas just in time for Halloween, and it's one I'd definitely recommend watching at this time of year! It's a fun horror film, great cast, GREAT music, great concept however some of the execution falters towards the end and it sort of loses its way but all in all, a curveball from the talented director despite following many of his tropes and traits that we all know. Not as iconic as Hot Fuzz but a damn good time nonetheless.

It's one that'll go under many radars this hear however is actually pretty good, albeit extremely brutal and harsh at times, it's a very interesting and enjoyable film that I would certainly recommend.
Ridley Scott's latest epic has bombed at the box office which is a shame because its actually pretty good. It's a tad long and very hard to follow at times but overall its better than it kind of has any right to be. With great performances from Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer and even Ben Affleck, an extremely brutal story and events, its one of the most interesting films of the year albeit one of the most confusingly edited ones too. This is the non spoiler review for it, a spoiler will be available soon!
So this is slightly different, the new Dune has just been released and this has been very hard to judge, enjoy and review. Purely because its an unfinished story. So until we get a part 2, I'm not reviewing it properly. Worth watching at the cinema absolutely and it's still a very fine film, but it's not a great one and that's down to the uneven structure of this entire story that needs multiple movies to be complete. So until then, I won't be reviewing it officially!

It isn't the most ethical and there's some glaring issues in the morals department and hair and makeup too, no amount of makeup can make 28 year old Ben Platt look like a normal teenager, but the songs are great and his performance in particular is incredible! More enjoyable than I anticipated, in cinemas now!

It's mah birthday and as a treat to you all, I've revisited the first Venom (2018) and...gotten slightly drunk. This review is a mess for the middle portion which I recorded AS I was wasted so enjoy listening to a complete monstrosity. It did however improve the film a lot. So yes watch if you're drunk, avoid if you're not, and avoid at all costs Venom 2, you're welcome. Not major spoilers however I do run through the plot so caution advised but never explicit spoilers.

If you're looking for something deeper and more interesting, more effective too, then this may not be to your liking. It's exactly what it says on the tin, and to be fair I think it earns the 'Kills' into its title, because Michael Myers is once again absolutely ruthless, enjoy!
With the return of Michael Myers (again) in Halloween Kills, I've decided to revisit the two primary films to watch in anticipation. 40 years on and the franchise still surprisingly has legs. Trigger warning I cry a lot so skip to about 21 mins if you don't want to hear a broken boi weeping for twenty minutes, either way this is it, the final Bond film in Daniel Craig's run. While it may not be perfect, it's a fitting end and terrifically fun film from start to finish, in cinemas now after 2 years of delays, so enjoy this finale and have a martini with it, shaken not stirred.
Well, here it is. After almost 2 years worth of delays, Daniel Craig's Swan song as Bond hits cinemas and sure packs a punch. While a bit uneven at times, there is no denying this is a massive event piece of cinema, and a very very enjoyable one at that. It's taken some growing on me however I can safely say its a worthy finale for perhaps the best Bond ever. Enjoy!
Daniel Craig's penultimate appearance as Mr Bond and unfortunately the franchise takes another dip after the high of Skyfall. But either way everyone gets somewhat justice for this shambles with No Time To Die so in retrospect maybe its not so bad, however ultimately its not a good film unfortunately. Either way this is the final review before the new Bond so enjoy!
The third Bond film from Daniel Craig and potentially the best (?) Either way this film is a sheer delight, amazing all across the board with one of the best villains ever seen on screen. Impossible not to love this film so enjoy!
The second part of my Daniel Craig Bond rewatch series and this one...yeah it's not good. Duff film, but every franchise has at least one poor film so not totally unexpected, however very disappointing to say the least. Once again no massive spoilers this time round. Enjoy, if that's possible!

My spoiler filled take on the Kurupt FM gang finding themselves in Japan seeking a record deal, without a care or possibly brain cell in the world, yet its a blast from start to finish. Worth watching after the series however its entirely possible to enjoy without seeing the show, regardless I'd highly recommend checking out that, and checking out this, and you'll have a great time. Funny doesn't begin to describe it, so enjoy!
The movie continuation of the acclaimed comedy series featuring a bunch of idiots doing..well literally nothing. It shouldn't work, this shouldn't be good, and yet it's fantastic. Throughly great comedy like a cross between The Office and Spinal Tap. This is the spoiler free review and check out the film available to rent now!

My spoiler filled scene by scene analysis and review of The Green Knight, based on the Arthurian legend and unknown poem. Its a beauty of a film, albeit a very strange and trippy ride as well. The latest film from David Lowery sees him adapt the poem of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, with one of the most beautifully shot and crafted films of the year. Its certainly weird, strange, odd, confusing, and not for everyone, however those that will appreciate it, will LOVE it, its quite a special film. Available on amazon prime from 30th September!
My review for a horror film which I am dubbing the scariest experience of my life. Possibly ever. Yeah, really wasn't expecting the sheer horrifying nature of this film, well made and well acted but god damn scary. Be careful with The Night House, be very careful.
This is probably the worst review you'll hear because I'm absolutely terrified for the entire duration. This film is horrific, genuinely one of if not the scariest experience of my life and I never want to watch it again. Tune in to hear me shiver and shake, and sing You're Welcome. Why? Because you're welcome. Watch this film at your own risk, just be careful.

The latest musical legend to receive the biopic treatment is Aretha Franklin, and taking on the impressive task is Jennifer Hudson, thankfully without looking like a cgi cat in this film. Following many typical tropes of biopics, Respect doesn't hit too many high notes, however it's far from a disasterpiece. Out now in cinemas, this review isn't a proper spoiler review because the only potential spoilers are elements of Franklin's life, it can't really be a spoiler surely. Anyway I hope you enjoy!
Okay this is a LONG one, but a great one, Marvel's latest flick introduces the world to a brand new superhero, and the very first Asian hero at the front and centre of it all, Shang-Chi. And let me tell you its fantastic, easily one of their best in years and perhaps most unique film ever. I'd say stop what you're doing and listen to this, but in reality you should stop what you're doing and watch the film! Either way, enjoy as I talk for far too long about everything amazing that happens in this film!
Marvel's latest release introduces a brand new hero to the franchise, whilst it can be seen as an origin film for Shang-Chi, it defies all expectations and diverts from typical formula in an incredible fashion. As the first fully fronted Asian superhero film, this really is special and one of the best instalments to the MCU in years. Here it is. This is the big one. My review may be half the length of the film itself but trust me its at least two times more fun. Mild content warning, implicit explicit content advisory, all in funny ways though. Stick with this one even with a daunting runtime it's worth every second (hopefully) or just skip to the final 20 seconds for a black and white final verdict. This took me a week to make and edit all of this and it really shows, so ENJOY.
Here I am reviewing Disney's latest adaptation of one of their world famous theme park rides, and here I am ripping to shreds said adaptation.
