Murdoch alumnus, Elaine Pearson, in conversation with Murdoch Law School’s SCALES Director Associate Professor Anna Copeland, discuss human rights and Elaine’s new book, Chasing Wrongs and Rights. The book details global human rights issues and her personal odyssey fighting for those rights and urging governments to uphold and protect individual freedoms and treaties.
Elaine is the Executive Director of Human Rights Watch's Asia Division, overseeing the work of the division in more than 20 countries. She works to bring a human rights dimension to Australian foreign and domestic policies and has been involved in conducting numerous human rights investigations in Australia and around the world. A trusted national voice on human rights issues, Elaine has been featured in publications including The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald and The Washington Post.

Our first alumnus is Ryan Daniels who works as Channel 7's sports reporter and recently returned from Tokyo after reporting the Olympics and swiftly after, covered the AFL Grand Final which was hosted in Perth for the first time ever.
Ryan talks to Sam about some of his unique experiences at the Olympics, how the AFL (Australian Rules Football) Grand Final has impacted Perth and shares advice for anyone looking to get into the broadcasting industry.
